Woolworths Oysters. 1/2 Dozen for $10, 1 Dozen for $23

Asked for two half dozen packs. Answer - but you are buying a dozen, that’s $3 extra. Go figure.

Collected half dozen, walked away. Returned to counter, can I have half a dozen oysters please. Packed and presented as expected. This is retailing madness.

Just posting as an awareness thing - watch these tricky deals! Great oysters, enjoying them as I post.

Not get oysters from Woolworths as I don't like food poisoning.

      What if OP likes compensation?

      • (and will 6 be enough or will 12 double the payout). lol

  • Depends which number you're taking the factorial of

Almost thought this is because of compound interest!

  • 1 or I dozen?

  • -1

Packaging effort and material cost for 2 x 1/2 dozen is greater than a single dozen lot - simples!
That aside, one would need to be desperate to buy opened oysters from Woolies (or Coles), maybe not toxic but certainly lost most of their flavour

Did you perhaps miss the point of this post?

Perhaps. But I think you may need to be further obvious for them to get it. We'll see

All the oysters were in 1 dozen packs. To supply the cheaper 1/2 dozen someone had to find the scissors to cut the pack in half, then rewrap both halves. Who knows what else the scissors had been used for. Next home has to be near a proper oyster shucker, oyster craving is a serious disorder.
Where I am in Victoria, the only reliable supplier of oysters is Woolworths. The IGA does it better when they have them.
I’m not complaining, just thought it was amusing.

Yum, Woolworths essentials olive oil 500ml at $3, the 1 litre at $8.80. i feel bad coz I'm using more plastic but I can't justify the cost increase. When I originally saw it months ago, i figured they'd realise and change it. But I guess not. OP yours is even crazier and sounds like it was the staff member themselves who decided to leave their brain at home.

  • Fresh frozen oysters that have been shucked and run under a tap…delicious.

    • -2

      moist

  • Could be a bakers dozen with a spoon full of mixed left over coleslaw and prawn juice shit still on the spoon that makes up for the price hike

  • Order 1/2 dozen. They ask anything else. Another 1/2 dozen please. Problem solved. A full dozen ask to take 6 out. Repeat. Be polite, keep the work bees happy.

  • I'm seeing $12 for 6 or $24 for a dozen fresh oysters in WA.

The $3-cheaper half-dozen is not marked as fresh, so I'm assuming frozen and thawed.

    • Same product. They just cut the dozen pack in half in front of you.

  • order 2 x half dozens lol

  • There is a sushi place I go to where at the end of the day they sell packs of 3 sushi for $6 or 2 for $10. As you do not get a choice sometimes, I only like 3 (or 5) packs so I ask if I can have 3 for $15. The answer is always no - 2 for $10 and the third pack for $6. So, I only buy 2. I think I qualify for the 3rd to be $5 but no.
