      • I know what the price is and that is the reason why I haven't negged the deal. I am simply pointing out a potential pitfall to our less technically minded friends. Belkin isn't playing fair by printing in a small font.

The deal is fair but you are not buying a compliant router.

        • Fair enough. I just don't think that anyone buying an $18 router is under any illusions of super-high network bandwidth.

There's nothing wrong with draft-N though, it's a fair bit better than G IME, & pretty much all non-draft devices have no issue with backward compatibility & connection anyway. There's even a lot of cases where later firmware upgrades have also added the compliance, for whatever it's worth.

its $18 and has speeds of 150Mbps - What's there to complain about?? Company may just not have paid a monster $$$ amount for this product to be "certified" wireless n - doesn't necessarily mean its not wireless n. But hey, $18!!!

  • I'm moving out and originally, I wasn't going to buy this because I needed a modem as well. While looking through a large pile of junk, I just happened to find an old Thompson SpeedTouch modem, which I completely forgot about.

    Must be a sign….

A hot tip for anyone with an Xbox 360, This will not work if you had WPA2 password security, only if you have no security….. There is a firmware update for this model which as soon as I did that made the router and xbox work perfectly (with WPA2). No doubt people will be cheesed off if they try set these up only to find they dont work with Xbox! Hope this has helped someone!
TO USE THIS WITH XBOX360 - UPDATE THE FIRMWARE! (It's in the router admin pages under firmware)

  • Good price, it was even cheaper before: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38408
