  • Price match isn't a deal. Have to list other.

  • Price beat isn’t a deal. I’d suggest changing to original low price and comment on price beat before it gets nuked.

    • I'd suggest a "sale" price of 569 (which it is at the site), with a comment of Officeworks pricematch

regular 699, down to 569 in the sale, which OW then "beat" with a price of 551.94 would be suitable imo

I just purchased the 2 pack of this for about $780 from GG commercial, an upgrade from nest wifi and TP one mesh I have as spare.

    Pros for me -

Tri band dedicated backhaul and performs as good or better than many 6e Systems according to many reviews even though only wifi 6,
longer range than my nest with 2 points
    more stable wifi so far
better handoff as you move around house than my tp and nest wifi

    cons
    so pricey
limited support - 3 months and not great, longer waits than google and tp which are free for life atm.
setup - reviews say this is easy but mine hung when I tried to rename network and took hours of resets to get working

    • I did come across the shorter support when I had them.

I highly doubt they can apply that in Australia without incurring wrath from up above.

Google isn't great for support though.

      • Yes I found google support variable but at least it was there. Netgear is only 3 months and the person on the other end had no idea and after hrs cut me off. I call back near midnight days later from the USA even though my account clearly said Australian time.

Your pretty much in your own unless you pay for support even then it’s poor.

        • I know its 3 months. But Australia has standards and rules that would absolutely destroy that.

Americans aren't as lucky. Big part of why we pay more too.

  • I owned the AC Orbi's but the AX are a rip off. For the price of one satellite you can get a TP-Link Deco X50 AX3000 3 Pack.

Sorry but I can't imagine why any sane person would buy Orbi AX systems.

    • Maybe routers are becoming a bit like luxury goods - the higher the price tag and more people want to buy it.

These are definitely not for people focused on price/performance ratio.

      • For me our house has 3 levels and tried everything, it was kinda a step up to these AX6000's - Since throwing 3 in here, no drop outs and no issues at all - I guess the journey found me to the AX6000 based on my house layout. I was checking out Asus as well - though everyone seemed to say these are the better performing based on the issues i had.

The only thing I dont like is that use a paywall to use things like Parental control and malware scanning and internet traffic - you think paying this amount you would get it included. Kinda annoying

I somehow managed to snag the 3 pack of the AX6000 (853) off ebay used for $700 a few months back. It was a 2 pack and owner bought an extra satellite. It replaced a TP link triband router. I was worried initially that the Orbi might have some issues as there are variable reports regarding it's reliability. So far it has been one of the best router setup I have used. Whereas I had to reset the previous routers about once a week (at least) the current setup has had one restart in 4 months and that was due to an issue with a single wifi device. It is FAAASST and the cool thing is that I can run cable to my Nvidia Shields in the various rooms from the satellites and it makes a big difference in realiable connection. Would I spend the over $1300 for the 3 pack - NO, but for the price I got it for it is a steal.
Setup isn't the most intuitive in the world but it worked smoothly the first time (note that the used routher and satellites are linked to an account so if you buy used make sure previous owner has removed them from the Netgear account or you have some proof of the purchase to speak to Netgear. Otherwise you are screwed). Also, be aware of the order of firmware updates (router first THEN satellites) or you will have issues.

    So far, very happy.

  • I actually ended up returning my AX6000 due to a lack of controls and specificailly not having proper QoS controls. You would think for a router at this price range there would be better accessible settings to configure it the way you see fit, but it is extremely dumbed down and I see it more aimed towards plug and play. My desktop computer is connected on wifi and I consistently noticed packet loss during my gaming sessions (which is terrible for FPS). Ever since I switched over to the Asus XT8s theres been a huge difference during my gaming sessions and ive gone from an average of 35ms to 25ms for my latency in game on both Valorant and League and the packet loss issues are gone. In general for a router it still fast like the AX6000 and has features like a dedicated 5Ghz backhaul. Something that I didn't think was useful till I had it was being able to point individual devices to connect to the main satallite or the add on. The one thing I hated the most on the AX6000 was how ridiculously long it took to reboot after settings change, but for the XT8, it just updates your settings without having to reboot for almost all setting changes.

This is just my opinion and experience but hopefully it helps those who were considering picking this up
