  • Damn these are getting cheap now. I wish my 65" 2012 model Panasonic Plasma (last one they did) would die already, so I can replace it.

    • +4

Some of those Panasonic Plasmas were made in Japan. They are never going to die.

      • Don't think the last ones were. Had what I believe was the last Japanese version, but also had bought models afterwards.

Good TV's, but yeah, I'd move on from them now….

        • +5

Lucky for me, I accidentally tripped and threw my plasma on gumtree.

        • In reading videophile opinions, most say that the last plasmas produce very comparable quality images to OLEDs, very little in it. That's what I see too, having friends and family with OLED TVs. You couldn't give me any LCD panel for free to replace this plasma.

The image it produces is still stunning. Why move on if it isn't broke?

            @R00D: HDR
            High Refresh Rates
Inbuilt smart features, some prefer Inbuilt anyway…
            High resolution
            Awful heat they generate
Higher power usages for screen size

            • @scuderiarmani: Exactly, no reason to throw it out. Plus, I have a good solar system, power costs me next to nothing.

              • @R00D: You ignored every other reason bar power.

                • @scuderiarmani: Again, I know. I have a home theatre (projector), I don't need HDR, 4k, etc.. Pointless. The image I see is stunning, comparable to any OLED. Throwing it away for a product of the same screen size that doesn't enhance my viewing is just wasteful.

                  • @R00D: Ok
So why you here? Cause you want one.

                    But you don't.

                    But you do.

                    But you don't.

I'm done wasting my time. Enjoy your heater, sorry TV.

    • Or you could just bin it or sell it…the energy consumption would be high on that plasma

      • My power bill is next to nothing (solar).

        • +1

Well I guess you ain't paying heating in Winter lol

          • @scuderiarmani: I live in Victoria champ, I'll only be paying more in heating when it goes! I put the A/C on 3 or 4 times a year at most.

            • @R00D: You wish your 10yo TV died, your words, yet here you are defending it still.

              Someone's a little confused.

Move on. Modern 4k TV's, excluding no name brands, are light years ahead of Plasma.

This is coming from someone who swore by Panasonic Plasmas. I've had 3 models.

              • @scuderiarmani: That's cool. I'll take my eyes and the words of videophiles over your opinion though thanks.

I said I wish it'd die because I don't like being wasteful when something still works great.
