Available for delivery, $5 for me.

    • +5

I just placed an order successfully, $137 + $5 delivery.

      • Well customer service told me some porky pies… unheard of…

        • So you think these won't be fulfilled?

          • +2

@netsurfer: Hope for your sake they are but i was told on the phone there was 0 stock nationwide and no plan of getting replenished.

            • @Herb Utsmellz: Well, I thought the same so has not gone through with the purchase. Already have too many toys gathering dust. Will let other OZBers gamble.

              • @netsurfer: It's not a gamble, worst case u get a full refund. Anyways, don't need the phone, so there's 1 more for those who need/want it.

                • @chewkl: Well, I predict too many OZBers cannot resist and will have a flood of requests for GG CSRs. Hope GG has a good batch refund system.

    Display Resolution: 8000 x 6000 Pixels, Really?

  • +1

Nice, picked one up for my folks.

  • Thanks OP, bought. Been looking for a cheap new phone for my 2nd number

    • +1

You haven't heard of two numbers on the same phone ?

      • +4

I keep a second phone at home (with said 2nd number) to have a backup of my google authentication codes…

        • -1

Why do you need a number or sim for that?

And you are kind of making a backhanded insult to the phone and buyers who might be keen to have this.
The specs look good … if only it exists in stock.

  • +17

Obviously cheaper because the 5G mixes with your booster shot and arms the genetic explosives inside your soul…. good price though 👌

  • Purchased successfully thanks
    Now the waiting game
I know it's the ozbargin way but now I have 3 5g fones bloody hell I must resist

    • Are you really saving money or just buying because it's a bargain?

  • Great deal. Bought one for my little one. Many thanks.

  • +2

Thanks OP. But I guess my bar has been raised high thanks to the G82 deal (price error) from JB couple weeks ago lol.

    • +6

This reply brought to you by my G82

    • How does this deal compare?

    • how much was that and what's the difference in both ?

    • +1

      Is g82 better than this?

      • Probably, this one has sort of similar specs but older, g82 has several upgrades in terms of chipset and camera.

    • G82 was cheaper during the mylenovo rewards raid. Got one under 160

    • Very similar specs, so this price much better value, except for the expired support.
Edit: I think this phone has the better CPU and GPU, and arguable better camera.
This phone supports 4k video recording and has HDR support.

G82 has AMOLED display and 120H reresh rate.

  • vERY2 cHEAP!

Spent a few mins trying to find reviews, realized the OzB way is to Buy Now Think Later. Bought one, let's see when the order comes through.

  • +3

Good guys are a bunch of liars. When I inquired about a clearance phone (Samsung A32) they claimed they had reserved one for me. The sales rep on the phone rang the store and confirmed they had one left and it wasnt ex demo. I paid the quoted order they created and the order was cancelled a week later. When I followed up they said there was no stock and quickly ended the chat/phone call. That is grade A BS. What annoys me most is I bought a gift card to pay for the phone, so I need to use it on something. Then I'll never buy from them again.

    • -8

So what have you learnt ? Don't put all your eggs in one basket !

      • That means Never buy Apple gear as you are stuck for life :(

    • +2

As someone who previously worked in an electronics store, that means one of the staff decided they needed it more than you.

    • I say go fair trading

  • I wonder how many of the owners of these phones actually have 5g with their plans……surely most are on amaysim or aldi or similar

    • +2
    • +1

      Future proofing :p

I'm with boost and have 5g phone, but I turn off the 5g. Rather have reliable internet than fast and unstable.

      • 5G also drains the battery faster.

    • +1

I've got an iPhone 13 pro and use amaysim. $150 a year for what I need compared to 4-500 for 5g

      • 5G only makes it faster, not to spend more money. You already overpaid for iPhone & try to justify your decision. This is much better deal & you can still use any provider (with the freedom of not locked system as Android or HarmonyOS ;)

  • +1

From what I can find, it won't be getting Android 12 and Motorola's 2 years of security updates is already up.
Also, I can only see Lineage 18 and Havoc 4 custom roms which are both Android 11.

  • Ordered. Hopefully it's the 8gb RAM version

    • Product description on site says RAM Size: 6GB

    • Says 6GB in the product description

  • +2

Bought one for $10 appology voucher lol

    • appology voucher? You can only buy app with that voucher?

      • He’s saying this won’t be fulfilled as there might be no stock. Will be refunded and will get an apology voucher from GG

        • My comment was a joke.

  • Can this be used as a 5G modem? To project hotspot to other devices

    • I was thinking the same but others have said the battery in it may get very hot and explode.

      • Probably cheap for a bomb

    • +1

Not good, better to find a 4g modem.

  • +2

Moto are pretty poor with their OS updates (and I've owned a few in the past, and looking to buy another in the future) so if this phone was originally released at the end of 2020, is it likely to receive any more updates?

Secondly, does it matter? I actually don't know the answer to the second question. But it's a heads up for those who care about these things.

  • +1

OS updates are only up to Android 11.

  • +4

6% cashback now on at Shopback

    • +1

      Thanks for the heads-up.

  • Would've bought one but the thing is massive.

    • no idea why phone needs to be massive these days

      • For us oldies with failing eyesight, lol.

  • Thanks OP bought one.

  • I have this phone currently, fixed a broken screen a few months back and the quality was horrible… Paid 180 to fix the screen for it to break with a 30cm drop onto carpet…
    $140 for the whole thing!
Don't mind if I do, amazing phone for me.

    • +1

      How's the camera quality?

      • +1

Very average, nothing apple or galaxy quality. Better than the older Oppo models I've had!

    • +1

The quality of the repair was horrible or the phone generally?

      • +1

Phone brand new is amazing, unfortunately the repair I got was awful, easier for me to get a brand new one than to fix it.. smh

        • I'm in the same boat - had the barely readable smashed screen for about two months now. So put off by the repair price I've been considering buying the screen itself and DIY.

Too bad I missed this deal.

What do you think went wrong with the repair?
Was it just the new screen that was poor, or the whole phone afterwards? And in what way is it bad?

Hope you don't mind my Qs, I'm wondering if worth repairing.

          • @sam buster: I too looked at a DIY screen but honestly, the parts/expertise are just worth going to a good repair place for.

I believe my repair was just a little bit off, from day 1 I had the glue falling out the edges of the screen in stringy pieces.

The phone is currently cracked but works perfectly in every aspect, it's got a good battery life depending on the usage and "turbocharging" so 20V fast charge.

I don't think it'll be updated any further but I'm happy of the quality of this phone and at the price it was it was a steal.

Only big annoyance for me is the lack of visibility in the sun or high lighting even at the highest brightness levels.

Happy to help, keep the questions coming. I paid $180 for a repair instead of getting a new phone but if you can guarantee the quality is good with your upgrade its probably worth it!

            • +1

              @BenjiBenj: Thanks, BenjiBenj.
I agree it's a good phone, and also agree with the screen brightness comment - I have this G 5G Plus.
Such a good phone that I wasn't tempted by the recent G82 or Edge 30 deals because I thought a repair would be better value.
I guess the trick is knowing if you are getting a good repair. A brick & mortar shop quoted me $180, or $160 for cash - I didn't know places still did that!
I'll see what comes up in the upcoming deals.

    Grabbed one for a mate.

    • +5

      Thanks mate.

      • +2

With all the watch deals, not sure if I owe you a phone or your owe me one because I'm broke.

    • +1

Lets catch up tonight and i can grab it off you.

  • Released July 2020. Last security update was probably July 2022.
Motorola phones have 2 years of security updates except the latest 30 edge range.
Great price for a back up phone if you don't need the security update.

  • getting error when I try to pay, sold out?

    • Same here - error when I try to pay.
Not a good sign regarding stock availability…

  • Bought one. Thanks for the post.

  • Don't forget 6% Shopback till 2pm.

  • Great price - bought one.. thanks OP!

  • I'm yet to experience any real positive of 5g on my handset. Just munches the battery. I've turned it off on my 5G device and haven't thought about turning it back on

    • +1

Some not really that useful advantages:

      • Due to my slow NBN, downloading apps / updating apps on the phone is a lot faster with 5G (especially iOS devices, since they do download in parallel).
      • Fast youTube video download.
      • Impressive Internet speed test result to numb your brain.
  • Is that 2 front facing camera cutouts I see up there in the corner?

    • +1

Looks like it. Corner front camera always makes the selfie subject's eyes look sideways in photos. Awful.

  • keeps having the error after submitted "Sorry, we can’t seem to find the page you’re looking for."

  • out of stock ? keep says error …

  • Got this same phone from TGG at EOFY sale June 2021 for $316 as a 5g backup to my flagship Galaxy
Not the great oled screen & cameras but the price is right
Its a steal at this price.

  • Must be out of stock. Buy now says selection is incomplete or not in stock.

    • ..or never was and they just noticed.
So either order rejected or order tracking emails next

  • OOS?

  • Picked one up for interstate sons Xmas present .thanks for the find , great price

  • +1

Based on the gsmarena, it comes with NFC. Go forward!

  • The "Order Details" page shows "BackOrdered" while the "Tracking Your Order" page shows "Awaiting picking". Not sure what is actually happening there…

  • Use Afterpay for $10 off if you are pulse member.
