I've used both this Phillips and the InstantPot, and can say that the InstantPot is IMO the better of the two. It's easier to clean the lid, has more accessories, recipes, stainless pot and it's designed a lot better. You can usually get it on sale for around $150.

Why on earth is this thing so expensive?

Its a pressure cooker, slow cooker and rice cooker in one.

Not deal related, but some limitations and choice of materials are annoying in Philips. Also as stated in comment above cleaning is trickier. There are a lot of good brands that do same or better job at similar price point. A while ago I created a video comparing Tefal pressure cooker to Philips. You can find some Philips shortcomings in there: https://youtu.be/mYbAyn-9W4I
Hope it will help someone in decision making as well as what to expect if you decide to go with the Philips.

    • How is the Tefal holding up i like the look of the instant pot but if the Tefal would be better i would prefer that.

      • I can't comment at all on the Instant Pot, but I'm pressure cooking in Tefal at least once a week. All working great. The only thing I wish they'd do better is better quality of non-stick surface. After 1/2 year of use it has some scratches even though I only use plastics when working with it. Otherwise I'm totally happy with Tefal. As result I'm not using Philips at all. It is my stand by for now.

  • Superior power with 35% faster cooking

I'm not familiar with this product, 35% faster than what?

    • Than the speed of sound!

      • The Maverick cooker!

  • Common tip seems to be chuck another ~$50 and grab a stainless bowl to replace the internal one that comes with it
