Poco F4 256GB for $490 delivered. I’m tossing up between this and the Pixel 7 Pro. Given this is at least half the price it’s a solid choice if your happy with MIUI.
I think I’ll wait and see what deals come up on the P7P though..

You almost had me but no card slot or 512gb option kills it.

    • +3

For me 256GB is fine. My photos are backed up each night so whenever my phone is too full I can just delete whatever.

      • What do you use for your phone photo backups?

        • +1

Nextcloud. It stores the photos locally on my server.

      • My issue is local FLAC storage.

        • Me too! Glad I am not alone in using FLAC for music on my phone.

        • +1

It doesn't have a Headphone jack. No point using FLAC.

    • I agree, you can back up and delete, but damn that gets annoying

S21 fe will be 599 at JB on Tuesday for another option

    • 2021 phone or 2022?

    • @imahippy where did you see this s21 fe JB price for next Tuesday? Is $599 for 128GB or 256GB? Is JB's Black Friday deals out? I am keen to find out what their deals are….Pls share if there are other good phone deals from JB.

  • And pixel 7 is 740 at Telstra with a few points.

    • +1

      Is that 256gb?

  • Are these the phones that have ad built into the OS? I’m in the same boat of looking at a pixel 7 pro

    • Depends on region set. You can choose a region with no ads and it doesn't affect anything else.

    if your happy with MIUI

do note though that for those who like to tinker xiaomis/pocos have a fantastic custom rom community!

This is a solid price…I paid $555 3 months ago.

Phone is great, except for the battery. It'll usually get me through a day, but I'm scared that in a year or so as it degrades, I won't get a full day out of it.

The 67W fast charging is killer!

the last of your comment is 100% true : "The 67W fast charging is killer!"

fast charging (let alone super fast charging) will shorten your batteries lifespan above the normal time and chemical breakdown considerations. unless i desperately need it, i have even fast charging turned off (or i just plug the p[hone into my laptop/PC where its limited), also some manufacturers offer the ability to charge to a set percentage (often 85%) to prolong your battery life. If you have a rooted phone apps exist on the google play store that let you do this if its not a built in feature, such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhs.ccontr…

Fast charging doomsayers along with China import tech doomsayers 🤦🤦

        • I actually read whitepapers and studies on battery tech….its not "alternative facts"

          • +1

@James Milton: While i dont doubt battery will degrade that bit faster using fast chargers. The rate of degradation will likely not matter as by the time the degradation is noticeable. The user would have likely bought another phone to replace it.

          • +3

@James Milton: Do you have some links?

As mentioned above, there's no doubt the excess heat will accelerate degredation, but it's still unclear if this would affect an average user at this price point (who upgrades their phone every 2-3 years regardless).

            • @HomebrewFC: Look im just trying to offer what i thought were helpful pointers. In future i shall remain silent. Thanks.

              • +1

@James Milton: I was simply enquiring into the white papers you referenced. I'd be interested in reading them.

          • @James Milton: Tinfoil hat.

            Can't back it up.

            Same as usual. Pffft.

@adrianhughes1998: I was ready to check out what he was saying, but it seems like it's -

              Source: Trust me bro

@adrianhughes1998: The problem with OzBargains is clearly people who simply like to shout down and degrade others.

People here seem unwilling to accept that someone might know more than them.

Everyone knows "Do you have links?" is a classic troll tactic, same as calling someone a liar.

Not here to feed the trolls.

If someone wants to ask a genuine question about what my comments are informed, then fine, make such a query like a responsible and respectful grown up, ill link you to articles about fast charging issues till the cows come home

Problem is theres only a shocking amount of people who like to troll or make ignorant comments, like yours……"cant back it up" is shorthand for either "i want to look big and like a hero witht he fewest words needed" or "i want to remain ignorant"

You pick…either way im not the one looking like a dick…

        • As i said earlier by the time the battery degradation is noticeable and affects one's use of said phone. They would have likely bought a replacement phone. Very few people keep a phone to 5 years or even more.

Per the video. 2 to 3 years the battery is at 80% due to deterioration and degradation. So say 5 years you're at 60%. By this time you would have likely moved on to another phone.

    • 4500mah just thru a day - is this on heavy usage?

      • Yep, that would be heavy usage days for sure.

      • How else can you refresh the bargains?

  • No headphone jack and memory card slot. Thats a no for me. The rest of the specs are nice though.

  • +1

Seems good deal, but apart from the refresh rate, the Pixal 6a still is more appealing.

  • Is JB HiFi's Early Black Friday deals out? I am keen to find out what their deals are….Pls share if there are other good phone deals from JB. Thanks

  • Damn, seems like its back at full price

    • I've updated the post as expired. :(
