Don’t forget there is 10% coming up at Aldi.

    • Ooo interesting

  • +8

$5 promo credit always so confusing "this coupon cannot be applied to your order"

    • Got the same error.

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

Maybe some of us not eligible if had one of these promos before.

      • +2

Actually it's the system iirc. You apply it once and it works but if you cancel or have an error it won't apply again. Or sometimes they auto apply it and if you try manually it fails because it's already applied.

In my case I put it in once and was ok. Didn't finish transaction. Now it never works.

        • +1

Exactly. What a stupid system they’ve implemented.

        • It works like CR/SB activation, you enter code once, it's activated…

    • this normally happens when you tried to enter it twice.

can confirm I received the error after entering it another time, and now just receiving the email of the $5 confirmation.

    • +3

It's because it's already been applied. Do it in desktop mode on your phone browser or on a computer.

You should see GC promotion under the dollar amounts. You can't see this in the app

      • No it doesn’t work. .

        • +6

In desktop mode, look for a grey box under "Order Total" which says "Qualifying offers: GC Promotion"

      • Thanks

      • Thanks so much!

    • With expected increased cashback promos for BF, be sure to get it right as using promo credit voids cashback.

      • does it? I'm fairly sure I've been able to use the gift cards before with cashback

        • +1

Promo credit is different to GC

  • Shield pro also 239 which is record low

    • +1
      • That was on sale for about 20 minutes

        • Doesn’t make it not record low. If amazon sale was $196, it would probably last similar time

          • @Pricebeat: Did you get yours? Given my experience I'd assumed everyones was cancelled.

    • damn! i bought them at $250 from warehouse only last week :(

    • can you use iptv on shield ? which iptv service is good ?

  • +1

    Doesn't say anything about successful

  • ugh accidently bought a physical card with the code, cancelled the order and now can't reapply to a new ecard order :\

    • you still would have received the promo with a physical card, maybe contact customer service and ask for them to reinstate the original order

    • Same with me. Prob keep the card? Any downside? I am still waiting for bonus $5 email

      • +1

Bonus email will come with two days after the shopping of the physical card

No downside except for the wait

  • +1

$5 credit confirmed by email within 5 minutes of purchase, thanks OP!

    • I have these benefit confirmation emails four times in the past but don't know ho to use these. Can anyone care to explain how to use these?

  • +3

FYI - at checkout when you enter the promo code, it may appear that nothing happens, but when you enter it the second time, you should get the error. This was my personal test to let me know that I had put it in the first time.

From my experience just now, I sent the $75 gift card to myself, claimed it to my account, and then received an email to say the $5 promo credit will be applied to my next purchase.

For your reference, below is the email sample:

Thank you for purchasing from Amazon.com.au.

Your recent order xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase.

Additional information on this offer can be found here.

Thanks for purchasing $75 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your >account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU.
The promotional credit must be used by 31 May 2023. This offer is subject to Terms and Conditions.

There was no real confirmation in the checkout that it worked for me but I tried my luck anyways and can confirm I got my $5 credit!

  • +5

you should be able to see "GC promotion" applied on the right side of checkout page after entering the code first time.
    got my $5 credit, thanks!

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Worked all fine!

  • bought the gift card an hour ago still havent recieved it

    • I only waited 5 minutes.

  • It definitely never worked for me. I’m assuming if you redeemed such an offer in the distant past, you’re blocked from doing it again. Seems like a lottery to me so I won’t bother. Receiving message “the promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase”.

    • See here

      • +3

But it feels risky - Amazon should fix the system so it is clear as to whether the $5 credit is approved or not.

    • +2

CORRECTION: DESPITE THE ERROR MESSAGE, IT STILL WORKS! $5 credit received. All good.

      • I got my gift card but still not have received the $5 bonus, does it comes in separate email ?

        • Yes. Mine were 12mins apart.

  • -4

who buys cube for $150 while apple tv 128gb is only $250

    • +1

Because its $100 cheaper? I've had the previous gen cube for years and love it. You can sideload andoid apps which is a bonus.

      • Thank you sir! Need a good media player for the spare room so I've been humming over this for a few days but know little about them except I'd have to sideload KODI like I did with the 4k Fire Stick. I might pull the trigger.

    • People who don't own any Apple gear would be my first thought.

  • +1

    Thanks, got email benefits confirmation.

  • Note that last time one of these came up I had:

    Qualifying offers: GC promotion

appear in my cart on desktop at checkout but I never received the promotional $5 - I could never be stuffed trying to follow it up

  • Forgot the code..

  • I bought it last night, got the confirmation email but still haven't received the gift card despite saying it should take 5 mins

    • It's not a gift card. It's a $5 credit in the system which can be used on your next purchase. Go and pretend to buy something, when u get to the payment page you will see $5 taken off (you can click into the payment to see the tickbox asking if you want to use it).

      • +1

Ah i meant the email for the $75 gift card you need to buy to get the $5 promo, but dw it came thru just took awhile for some reason, thanks nonetheless

  • +2

Also took a punt and went through with the purchase despite receiving the error message "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase" when submitting the promo code at checkout.

I can confirm I received the Benefit Confirmation email (aka $5 credit) within a couple of minutes of completing the gift card purchase.

Thanks for purchasing $75 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU. The promotional credit must be used by 31 May 2023. This offer is subject to Terms and Conditions. Thanks again for shopping with us.

    • I got the same email back. It works.

  • For gift card

Try using incognito mode to go in and you should see it saying GC promotion applied in desktop mode

  • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

  • Anyone else experiencing something weird?

When I try to buy a Amazon giftcard, even before I have a chance to enter the code it shows Delivery as — and asks for card verification and won't let me verify my card.
Weird thing is if I add any other item to the cart that's not a giftcard, at checkout it shows that I can pay without verification.

I am not doing anything dodgy either, just trying to get in on this promo and it won't let me purchase giftcards at all.

  • +1

Grabbed one - thank you OP

  • +1

Got the email confirmation, thanks OP!

  • I can't find anywhere to input the code. Is the $5 promo over?

    • It still works as I just did it. You enter the code in the promo/gift card box on the "Place order" page.

      • Do you have to select payment option first and then continue?

        • Yes. It's on the last page before you actually place the order.

          • +1

@ChiefAJ: Oh yes I see it now, thanks for your help.

  • +1

Can confirm the promo is still active as of 12pm today (23rd).

Though there was a nervous 45 minutes between placing the order and the benefit confirmation coming through.

  • +1

Confirmed it still worked at 15.19pm today. $5 promotional code email came at the same time with the $75 e-gift card email.

    • Did you buy through the desktop site?

      • Yup I did

  • Looks like you can claim this multiple times

  • wont accept the code anymore

    • Promo code still works, I just tested it at checkout

See this comment and OP’s description

  • Getting the message "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." with a cotton on gift card.

    • Right hand side; below order total… it says…

      Qualifying offers:
      GC promotion

      • Nothing there for me. Maybe it’s my adblocker or something.

  • Can't see this after applying the coupon

    Qualifying offers:
    GC promotion

Perhaps it has reached 10,000 claims

    • Did you try on the desktop version? If you’re on Safari on Mobile, click on the aA, select Request Desktop Website. I could still see it at checkout just then

      • +1

Found it, yeah it's not available from the phone. Should be the desktop version. Thanks

  • When did the fire tv cube become available in aus?

  • +1

The 10,000 limit has not been reached yet (as of the 28th of Nov). Just got the email confirming the $5 promo credit.

  • Just got my $5 promo credit as well. Definitely still spots open to grab this deal.

  • How long do the gift cards last until expired?

    • +1

Amazon.com.au Gift Cards have no fees and no expiration date.

  • +1

Anyone know if the limit has been reached yet?

EDIT: nvm just ordered and also got confirmation email soon after: "we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU."

    • I ordered after you, got the same email too, but am buying something that's shipped and sold by Amazon AU and the $5 credit isn't coming up. Did it work for you?
Edit: I'm a goose… it had already applied to an earlier order that I didn't notice!

      • Lol glad you figured it out.
