Just bought Phillips XL from BigW, should I cancel the order and get this instead? Which one is better?

    • I've got the Phillips at home and it's decent, i rate it. Haven't used the Tefal so I'm not too sure about it.

  • We bought one for the same price during EOFY. It’s fantastic!

Were these Air fryers always so expensive? When the hype started they seemed to be all <$100. Now they’re 400. Maybe initially people were mostly after the Anko and Aldi ones?

    • The woolies Mistral brand (~$40) does just fine. Have had one for 2 years and they do an amazing job. Don't see the need to spend 400+ unless it's the ones with the air frying tray and a larger footprint.

      • I'm really eager to try one of these and compare it to my woolies Mistral.
I had a couple of original Tefal Actifrys before the Mistral and to be honest for the price I paid for the Mistral, I can't fault it.
I suffer from extreme GAS so I always have to talk myself out of buying one of these or the Philips everytime a deal is posted.

  • I bought one of these when it was full price and can say I do not regret a thing! It's a fantastic unit that cooks everything really quick (example I can cook a bag of frozen chips in 10-15 minutes, compared to an older Kogan air fryer I used that would take 30-40 minutes)

One thing I will say is the bottom tray is great for separating oil from your food BUT it very annoying when trying to take food out of the fryer. I'm used to just dumping the food out but if you do that with this fryer the bottom comes flying out and is basically a hot metal piece. So you need to remove everything with tongs or a spoon so that the bottom piece doesn't try taking your life.

  • In the jb catalogue it’s only $174, so got it at that price!

    • Do you have a screenshot or anything of that I could use?

Edit - Just hat a chat with them online and got it for $174 also

  • They look like they have updated their catalogue but last night it was $174

  • I rate this airfryer and I bought it at the same price earlier this year. As the above comments said, no dumping mechanism as the Phillips do, but I'd say gets the job done really well!

  • My wife wants an airfryer but I never had one before so I’m legit lost by the amount of choices in the market, would this be a good one that can last years? It would be just for me and wife if it matters.
Thank you in advance for any inputs.
