good deal but you cannot claim the bonus as per t&C "Participating Retailer means JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Big W, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Amazon, Kogan, Catch, MobileCiti, Woolworths Mobile, Yes Distribution, Telstra, TPG Telecom (Vodafone Australia), Wireless1 and OPPO e-Store"

    • Even Oppo knows not to use Sydneytec. That could be the reason why they haven’t raised it 20% more.

      It’s $999 at JB pay with 15% off gift cards = $849.15

      • But it's OOS within Australia

        • Shows in stock at couple of stores near me

      • 15% off Gift card seems to be available In Store only at JB and Good Guys? It can't be used online right

        • Yeah in-store only

    • I guess they are selling on behalf of Vodafone as mentioned in the listing that its Vodafone device, so you should be available to redeem free gifts.

      • Is Vodafone providing free gifts?

        • I guess its being provided by Oppo through redemption using the IMEI. So linked with devices, and its Vodafone device so should work.

    • +1

I cancelled my order due to this, didn't want to risk it lol

  • +1

how hard is it to find X?

    • No idea. 5th gen of find atm.

    • +1

      you need a treasure map

    • +1

Damn hard. They been looking for it since i been in school.

    • +2

Not as hard as finding the G

  • Surely need to bump up the 2nd comment.

    • Oppo can still dishonor as Sydney tech not listed on t&c

  • +3

Being carrier model, be aware that it is 1x physical sim. If you are keen for the 2x physical sim (JB is retail unit so it has one).

  • Is there any difference between the standard jb hi fi model and this model? Besides the 1 physical sim slot obviously. What about software updates etc? Anyone reckon they’ll be delayed with getting updates ?

Can it accept an esim as a second sim and use both simultaneously?

    • from past exp, network branded gets update a lot later

    • Anyone reckon they’ll be delayed with getting updates?

Have look at the thread linked in the OP - people on Telstra model report long delays, people on retail model have updates as of last month. Not sure about Vodafone exactly, but assume it would be similar to Telstra.

    • Wondering if it supports esim also, cant find details on the listing. Pretty decent deal with the tablet, bringing the phone cost to about $500.

      • +1

        According to gsmarena.

        SIM: Nano-SIM and eSIM

      • Should be Nano SIM + eSIM according to the vodafone link .

$100 for oppo pad for kid, I pay postage, pm me

  • Purchased with 4% off GC to total of $785.

OP, regarding redemption, we just need to purchase today but can redeem up until the 8th December correct? As part of redemption, you need to provide IMEI and screenshot of IMEI so l not possible without the device in hand

  • So can anyone confirm that redemption is eligible from this seller?

    • +1

Mate, read the bold text in the post.

      It's been confirmed…

  • Price showing now $1048.95. Is the deal expired?

  • or just get it from listed reseller Mobile citi,945 minus $50.not worth the hassle.

  • +1

I just hopped on the Oppo Livechat and was told that it was not redeemable.

Seems a bit risky but good luck to anyone that ordered!

    • Yup. Its a gamble. Oppo could very well turn around a say denied for any claims for x5 or x5 pro bought from sydneytec and sydneymobiles.

      • +1

Confirmed by Mobileciti/Allphones store rep below

        • 👌

    • The redemption details have been double checked and OPPO sales team has given the green light

      • Have you got the tab and have you claimed the promotion?

        • +1

No but my source for deals has confirmed it

  • I’ve asked 3 different reps on oppo live chat and they all said no. I don’t think it’s worth the risk

    • The customer service team hasn’t been informed yet. Only the sales team has

      • +2

I have faith in you bargains grabber.

Customer service teams are basically robots.

  • +1

also worth mentioning they dont have it in stock at hand and you may have delayed delivery. I saw this auction few days ago and asked the seller if they can post ASAP. this is their respond

    Thanks

    • +3

Just bought one thanks for the confirmation.
Price was a bit higher than sydneytec but shipping faster and didn't want to risk getting it too late to claim redemption.

  • +5

    Hi All
We (Sydneytec) just confirmed with Oppo that all Oppo Find X5 Pro from our store are eligible for the redemption, offer ends 11:55 tonight.
If you still have issues or concerns, please feel free to contact our cs team.
    Thanks

    • +1

Hi Goldxp, I tried messaging through eBay yesterday but didn't receive a response.

Can you let us know if we're likely to receive it before the 8/12 redemption due date?

      • +1

        Hi Defy9
We are working on dispatching all of your orders. Your order will be dispatched earliest today or latest next Monday.
        Thanks

  • Why does the title of the listing say Single Sim, Vodafone unlocked? Will the phone come with Vodafone branding? I thought this was a single sim + esim device?

    • Would like to know this too @Goldxp

    • +1

got mine the other day and there is no Vodafone branding on the phone. it looks exactly like a retail unit.

I thought this was a single sim + esim device?

yes that’s right. It allows for 1 physical sim + 1 eSIM OR 2 eSIM. I believe the title refers to single (physical) sim

      @ExPrinceHairy

      • Thanks!

      • Thanks for confirming. I chickened out and paid about $60 more (before GCs) to buy from Mobileciti. Let us know how you go with the redemption of the tablet.

Ah well, it's a great phone, so no regrets!

      • What about the firmware? Any Vodafone branding on the firmware?

        • +1

based on my experience, there is no Vodafone branding in the firmware either

  • +1

Ok just placed an order , let's hope for the best🤞

  • The Good Guys if can get stock will be cheaper actually (sort of). I got it for $979 (ceramic white and dual sim) few hours ago from Maribynong store and used the 15% TCN gift card. There is also an additional $70 storecash + $10 online tax invoice. Technically you have to use the $80 to buy something else from Good Guys but overall better off if you need to buy anything else from Good Guys.

  • Be aware guys that by the time you get your phone, there are reports that Oppo Pad Air promotional stock has run out

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13010973/redir

    Unless Oppo restock it.

    • +1

That is some dodgy advertising from all parties involved. There was a tiny small clause in the terms and conditions stating they can cancel it they run short on stock. It was one of the reasons I bought the phone from an eBay seller from this post. Hopefully there are alot of complaints for false advertising.

    • +1

Someone managed to order the oppo pad juat less than an hour ago

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13015929/redir

      • Just becareful, according to some feedback above, this phone is also on backorder on this deal, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13008789/redir

So need to ensure you get the phone by 8/12 and not sure the chances of the promotional stock will be "OOS" again…

  • Oppo created a dedicated product page for the pad redemption. Currently it's in stock.

OPPO Pad Air (REDEMPTION ONLY, includes OPPO Smart Cover)

  • have any of your orders dispatched? Mine is still in “paid” status after 48hrs.

    • Same here

    • +1

Bought from sydneymobiles and already dispacthed with express post..

      • i contacted them 2 times but no reply as yet

    • same here. i messaged them 2 times but no reply

      • they were busy, i got the phone yesterday, happy so far!

    • Edit: Mine was dispatched on Monday afternoon around 4pm

  • +1

Did you guys check the invoice date of your purchase? I'm trying to contact sydneytec regarding this as they put it as the 25th Nov, making me ineligible for the promotion.

    • 25th Nov, making me ineligible for the promotion

      Amen to that…

    • +1

I Purchased through Sydneymobiles and they advised they are unwilling to change the invoice. Going to have to return mine but at least Ebay generates the return shipping label.

      • +1

Yeah, I was very close to opening it but checked the invoice in case and whaddya know, they pulled a dodgy date on it. Whether or not it was intentional I can't say. A family member of mine got the correct date via Sydneymobile and claimed the tablet.

I'm almost certain a service member at Sydneytec has seen my message as I sent it to them on three platforms and they have yet to acknowledge it.

      • As an update AHUANG has been in touch and been very helpful with my claim. He was able to provide an updated invoice as the purchase was actually before midnight.

I would like to thank him for his help in getting the invoice fixed as I was not having as much luck through the normal channels.

  • My oppo phone came, very happy with it. Not Vodafone branded.

I just received my claim back as successful and ordered the tablet

  • My oppo x5pro came via Sydney mobiles, no vodaphone branding except their app which I uninstalled. Phone had updates pending and no issues there. No issues claiming the oppo tablet with Sydney mobile receipt. IMEI number shows as Australian stock and 2 year warranty via OPPO so all was legit and working well.

  • Still waiting since 30/11 for my claim for the tablet to be approved, starting to get concerned since everyone else only seemed to take a day or two

    • +1

I think we did the claim on 1/12 and still waiting too.

    • +1

Same here I'm waiting in the line too. Still in review

    • +1

still waiting, will report back if news

      • Good news! My claim got approved just now, and I was able to order the pad. Since you were a day after me, I think you should hear soon

        • +1

          Thank you!

        • +1

          Approved today!

          • @enyacat: Awesome, I've had no update since ordering the pad on 8th, not shipped yet

          • @enyacat: Update- I got given a $500 voucher instead

"Due to unprecedented demand, OPPO Australia is currently experiencing a shortage of the OPPO Pad Air and Pad Air Smart Cover, included as a Gift with your recent purchase.

As a valued customer, we’ve upgraded your Gift bundle, which now includes:

            • 1 x OPPO online store voucher to the value of $500 AUD to spend on our range of products and accessories - valid until June 30th 2023. T&Cs apply."

  • +1

If you don't get the oppo airpad till 8th of dec. Can we go to their Macquarie Park store to claim it??

  • +1

The AU Post shipment tracking is stuck on 29th Nov… No update other than the "Delayed" notification email. I start to worry about the claim due date, but it seems that OPPO extends the claim due day to 15th Dec.

    • How do you know that they extended the claim date ?

      • it is in the claim link
