I'm surprised nobody has posted these yet. Available in both White and Black.

Cheapest they have been so far.

I remember seeing them on sale at JB for $299, but turns out they have been as low as $275 + shipping on ozbargain https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/yamaha-yh-e700a

From a previous deals comments someone who has them said these are very bass heavy in sound. So a pair of premium ANC headphones for the bass heads.

I also read some negative feedback on the top model Yamaha L700A's where if you try to use the "3D sound field" mode the headphones for some reason drain their battery overnight when they are turned off.
Just in case that issue could also happen with the E700A's, I recommend either not using the 3D sound field mode or using the App to update the firmware first before attempting to use that mode.

  • I owned a pair of these, they're a smaller fit than most headphones and there was a small plastic connector that cracked during use after 3 months and i can no longer use it

    • "a small plastic connector that cracked during use after 3 months and i can no longer use it"

Could you explain where and what this plastic connector is? I am having a hard time picturing where it broke.

  • I've owned these for a few years now and loved them. Some notes for anyone interested (usual reminder that a lot of headphone impressions are subjective and your experience may differ):

    • They do have a very warm, relaxed sound. Deep bass but not head shaking to me.
    • With noise cancelling disabled, the bass can be overpowering to the remaining frequencies. I feel they are tuned to work best with NC always on.
    • NC is good but not to the level of Sony/Bose/Apple etc. The way I think about it is it removes enough distracting noise to let you enjoy the music; where other headphones will try and remove as much noise as possible, then focus on music playback
    • Ambient sound mode is surprisingly excellent. On par if not better than my 1st Gen AirPods Pro.
    • They can be underwhelming out of the box, burn them in to get the best out of them
    • Very comfortable but the headband can cause hotspots after an hour or so of use (on the top of my head). I added dekoni nuggets to eliminate the issue.
    • The app is basically pointless. No EQ so you have to like the sound as is.
    • No mulitpoint. Not an issue for me but many seem to like it.

Another note, these do not have the "3D sound field" feature mentioned in the L700A. That feature is exclusive to the L700A and (apart from styling and ear cup materials) is the only difference with the L700A compared to these.

    • " these do not have the "3D sound field" feature mentioned in the L700A."

I guess that's a positive for the E700A then because that is the feature that was causing issues with the top L700A model. Some kind of bug in the firmware where if you turned that feature on once that caused the headphones to drain their battery overnight when turned completely off.
So you don't have to worry about that bug on the E700A's.
