[Oculus] The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners $27.32 (Save 45%) @ Oculus Store

170

I haven't played this game but have read it's supposed to be the best game on the Quest. Oh man I hope someone clicks my referral link!

Face all the horrors that the living and the dead can offer in this new VR adventure in The Walking Dead universe. Travel through the ruins of walker infested New Orleans as you fight, sneak, scavenge, and survive each day unraveling a city wide mystery within the iconic quarters. Encounter desperate factions and lone survivors who could be friend or foe. Whether you help others or take what you want by force, every choice you make has consequences. What kind of survivor will you be for the people of NOLA?

Scavenge for anything that you can weapons, food, tools, and clues.

Be wary of the living and the dead: spatial audio will draw attention to any loud noise, bullets or otherwise.

Craft makeshift gear out of scrapped material blades, guns, medicine, and more.

Survive your way: Use stealth or fight head on. Scavenge or complete jobs for others.

Test your morals: make difficult choices for yourself and others.

  • It’s pretty good, but those susceptible to motion sickness may have a tougher time.. I can only play for about 20 minutes at a time due to all the motion.

    • I only get motion sickness in VR it seems, and similarly play in 20 min blocks. First 3 days of use I had terrible eye strains too.

      Any tips to reduce this?

      • Have sea sickness medicine in advance may help. But wish developers can add teleport option like Half Life Alyx

      • +3
        • Point a fan at your face while playing.
        • NEVERjust push through it, you'll only feel worse for much longer afterwards.
        • Try travel sickness tablets beforehand, I give Kwells was good.
        • Use teleportation if it's an option, over moving with joysticks.
        • A lot of games have some additional comfort settings, so it's worth checking that out.
        • If you're playing on PC, there's a good app on Steam called "natural locomotion" which lets you move just by swinging your arms. This helps a lot with tricking your brain into thinking you're actually moving, and therefore reducs motion sickness. It has a free trial, and isn't too expensive either.

With the eye strain, make sure you have a good IPD set, and get your IPD check by an optometrist.

        • Swinging arm movement was the only way I survived GORN in the early years haha.

I can play without getting sick now unless I’m really tired.

    • This was one of the first games I played when I got my quest and I suffered pretty badly, especially going up/ down the stairs to save the game. So I stopped playing it.

I seem to be a lot better though, I should give it another go, gameplay and graphics etc was pretty amazing

      • Zombie land is more arcade like and less of an issue.. still great fun

  • Thanks Daddy pig

  • Cool game, recommended

  • This game scares the shit out of me. Even in the tutorial where you axe a few zombies is just so realistic. You have to pull out the axe which feels and looks so real.

    • Thanks for confirming you have experience in removing axes from human flesh. An officer is approaching your location now.

    • Yes, I put off this game for so long for the same reason hahaha

But just start playing it and you find it's not so bad. Just remember they don't walk fast, you just grab their head with one hand, stab them in a head with your other hand.
