HAHA what a troll. The max is 10 in the cart.

  • Be patient, look for the cards you want, keep refreshing the page and you'll find stock pop up every now and then. And don't add 10 in one go to your cart, try smaller lots of 3 or 4 (or better still, keep adding to cart one at a time till it allows you). I wouldn't expect AusPost to ever be able to handle 20k hits x 10 card purchases each, so no point blaming them.

    • +5

I've been refreshing the webpage but nothing happens

  • +1

    Deal's over we'll get em' next time….

    • +6

but we wont though will we?

  • +3

This is the worst deal ever!

  • what a scam!
    Kudos to Aus post!

  • A good way to restore the store was - to ensure the store was empty…what a scam…
The website is back online with no stock

  • Not obtainable..

  • +4

Their sales are as good as their postal service.

    • +1

And their retail stores that don't open weekends or late during weekdays. Stuffing you up when the postie doesn't bother delivering your items and just leaves a "we missed you" card.

  • What’s a BS how can they all be sold out at the same time ..

  • Just got eats card $50 x 5

  • +2

Just got $1,000 of home gift card.

    • How the website says they are OOS ?

    • Did you write a robot code , to get those ?

      • Nope as someone mentioned above, was able to just keep refreshing for a few mins and they became available again.

  • +1

Poorly coded website, can't even manage one community users :D

    $50 Ultimate Thanks Gift Card
    Back in stock

    • +1

      OOS for me

  • It only took a few professionals to take down Australia Post website.

  • +1

If you manage to add them to cart and it won't let you checkout, just be patient and try again and again. Once you get through, depending on your bank they may send you a text with some security code if you pay by debit/credit card. So have your phone handy.

  • +3

I can confirm that if you already have gift cards added to your cart already then it is still possible to still get it, got 10 Mum card in the cart and kept trying to checkout with paypal for the last hour, eventually got it through and $$ deducted from paypal and got order confirmation from auspost.

Finally!! It all happens at 9:44 AM

    Good luck guys.

    • How are people even able to add anything to their cart? Now when I click on the $100 cards everything is blank except a picture of the card.

      • The card value got moved to the button of the page, just scroll further down until you see it.

        • Yeah I saw that now. Still showing as out of stock

  • +2

Just note that another thing that doesn't work is the Notify Me feature which you can see on some pages. I requested this for the Ultimate Active card earlier this morning. However, I manually refreshed the page and found the card back in stock, so I successfully purchased 2.

So I've received emails from Auspost with an email confirmation for my purchase - but not for telling me that the card was back in stock.

  • Managed to get a mix of Him and Home $50/$100 giftcards as of 10:10am. Just kept refreshing on each and once I was able to add to cart, went straight to checkout.

  • Does anyone know if these cards are of the credit or EFTPOS variety?

    • No one knows for certain until they receive the gift cards in the mail.

However, the gift cards in this deal should be the Visa gift cards, as the participating retailers shown on the Australia Post website correlate with the Visa version, not the EFTPOS version.

  • Managed to get Him $50 x10 2 minutes ago.

  • Get Home $100 x10 4 minutes ago

    • +2

did you keep refreshing ? add button was not showing

      • yes, keep refreshing. I guess they restock the cards every 20mins or 30mins maybe.

  • Got 2x her cards. Home card has still not come in stock for me.

  • Got 10x $50 student card!

  • +2

After reading all the comments on here I’m glad I decided to skip this nonsense. Running around to various Coles, especially the ones I’d never been to was more exciting

    • lol. ppl are trying so hard.. I already grab few home from coles. considering ppl are refreshing pages in front the computer and no one will buy from Coles : )

  • My god finally I got the home ultimate card after lots and lots of refreshing

    • this is free stress testing for website as well as this community..lol

    • I just wanna buy a fridge since I'm moving to a new apartment man gimme a break

  • +3

So I added 5 x $100 home cards last night and ironically I got an email at 10.30am telling me that I’ve left items in my cart.

I then click the link to go to my account but my cart is empty.

Been refreshing the home card link but I haven’t seen any cards available.

Don’t know how you guys all do it. I must be doing something wrong.

    • Prior to 8am, Auspost decided to sweep everyones cart so you had to start fresh in the morning. Fair enough since if everyone was hogging the cards before the sale then nobody would be able to buy any.

      • sweep cart no sweep cart, who cares when the whole site was down and now when its up, it so so dodgy!

        • -1

Site was never prepared to handle the traffic. Yet most people here may have scored a few. Even I managed to bag $870 worth (I needed $880). Either be patient and keep trying or give up and move on. Nobody is entitled to anything in life. It is also sometimes purely about dumb luck.

      • I had 10*100 in my cart prior and was able to check out via PP with confirmation emails from AusPost. Cart wasn't swept for me.

    • +1

Look like some poor logic behind all the scam :D

or Manger got job to load cards and adding 1 by 1 manually.

  • +2

Have you guys checked the card issuer’s (Blackhawk Network) google review? Red flag!

    • will be funny/disastrous if they went under with all the $$$$$$$$$$ worth of ppl's gift card

      • Dick Smith 2.0

  • oh man managed to add some to cart then not available

  • Well that sold quick

  • I've been refreshing the page at regular intervals since 8am this morning.
Struggling to even add to my cart, I only managed to get 1x added to my cart every 30 minutes.
Only after 5 for a Christmas gift. Got them added to my cart, every attempt to checkout led me back to insufficient stock in cart.

Got blocked by cloudflare as they probably suspect I'm trying to DOS the server.

    Waste of a few hours.

    • At least you can add to cart every time I refresh its out of stock

      • Took 3 hours of clicking the + button in cart to add 1 each time.

Definitely not worth the wait at this stage.

    • Just buy them as you add them to the cart. It’s free shipping.

  • Ugh what a waste of time. I am not dedicated enough to try to buy at 5 am perth time, should have expected it wouldn't have lasted minutes and not hours

  • Managed to snag a couple after constantly refreshing page. Maybe it's just another way to get people to provide details if they don't already have an account with clearly not that many vouchers to hand out.

    • +1

been doing the same every 10mins or so to no luck. Which one did you end up getting

      • I got them somwhere near 11am - 2 x $50 ultimate hers. I think I just got lucky - but havne't checked if they've been cancelled yet?

        • I got the ultimate hers too. I have a feeling most are fully out of stock and those were less popular.

  • Finally managed to add 2 to my cart but now it says theyre no longer available.

    • Been spamming the paypal checkout button and nothing's happening

  • +2

Do not feel bad if you cannot get any because i purchased $50 x 5 for ultimate him card this morning and got a confirmation email. However my order just got cancelled. Nice play aus post

    • Thanks. I feel a lot better now :p

      I missed out.

    • I just ordered 2 x $100 Home about 6 min ago hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

      • +1

        that was you haha
I also saw that, added to cart, then they went unobtanium on me
Good luck, but I'm waving a white flag on this sinking ship.

        • Yeah probably going to get cancelled. What a shitshow. Might head over to a couple of coles' to see if theres any TCN cards

    • What a farce!

    • Did you order this as soon as the site is fixed or it was a while after it was fixed? I hope mine doesn't get canned because I got through right after the website was fixed.

      • After it was fixed

    • did you buy more than 10 gift cards all together in multiple orders?

      • Yep in 2 separate transactions. First one with $50 x 5 was cancelled but looks like the second one with $50 x 10 has gone through. Maybe as stated in OP that the limit is 10 gift cards per customer

        • +2

yeah, same with me. My order with 10 cards is processed and other two orders were cancelled. Customer service told they are limiting it to 10 per customer, though email says payment issue.

  • Cancellation reason payment unsuccessful lol

  • Seems like they're still occasionally adding stock. $100 HIM cards were back in stock for a little while just now

    • Yep confirmed, just got 2x$100 Thanks

  • +5

$50 ultimate homes are in stock atm

    • +1

      Got some. Thanks.

      • And they're gone!

    • 15 ×$30, Crazy!!! I thought I can only buy 10 items per order. Missed

      • I ordered after the site went back up (around 9:30am), and I think they were still having issues. Was rather surprised when all 15 went through, and then around 4:00pm, someone just confirmed the order.

  • +1

Australia Post App just updating with tracking number from order this morning.

    • Up until now I haven't received any tracking number. I bought yesterday afternoon.

  • Forgot about these being away from home I missed out on the coles and Woolworths deals and now this

    • This deal was a shambles so you didn’t miss out on much

      • Yep I decided it wasn't worth it after the site going down… had other lazy things to do.

  • +3

It's interesting how the Home card is in stock now, right after midnight. lol

    • +1

      Yep. They definitely withheld stock

Now I can add 10 x $100 home cards at full price.

      • I even got an email to inform me they are back in stock

    • +3

Worst so called sale I can remember seeing from a major company in ages
Used Black Friday to advertise themselves then wasted everyone's time
      Absolutely woeful

      • +5

Almost all of the stock of on sale cards have now magically returned back to normal after the end of the promotion.

    • Same with Coles, Tuesday night OOS and Wednesday morning there are 100s of cards.

  • +1

I did eventually get my 10 giftcards but the process was horrible and unnecessarily frustrating. I sympathise with anyone who missed out.

It makes you think people that got 10 cards whilst other people missed out is unfair. It’s not even first come first serve because the server crashing or playing against bots isn’t exactly fair nor in the control of the average Joe purchaser.

Maybe an allocation of 2 cards per address would be more fair.

    10 people getting 10 cards
    Vs
    50 people getting 2 cards

This IMO would lead to less disappointment and would potentially benefit the vendors with 50 customers vs 10 albeit the same amount of total giftcard spend.

    • How would they restrict people through from purchasing only 2? People would just use multiple email addresses.

Only reasonable way would be per AusPost account with verified mobile and email address (not fool proof but certainly a bit fairer).

They could 2 cards per address, but that would be a nightmare for them to manage I'd imagine.
