why not get series 8?The series 8 is $1179 for the same configuration. That’s why.
personally don't care about cell,
having the latest version is better than an older last gen model especially when paying this much money.$800 is a lot of money for a last gen model.
if it drop to $500 or less then sure this would a good deal
7 and 8 are similar, thats why its fine go for 7 in this case.
The major difference isnt cellular, it’s the stainless steel and sapphire. The aluminium one can be had for much cheaper.

@pinkybrain: The changes generation by generation are very incremental (especially since the S4), whereas there is a huge difference in durability and feel between Aluminium and SS. Unless the newer gen has a killer feature you want, an older SS is nicer imo.
@loksmack: so SS feels more premium or heavier or what you mean by feel?
so aluminum will get more scratches and can get more damage if you hit it again something hard
where SS won't?@pinkybrain: Yes on both accounts. The SS version feels much more premium (and the price tag reflects this).
One thing I love about the silver SS version is that you can polish it to make it look like new. I do this yearly on mine and each time it brings it back to looking perfect. Plus the sapphire is very difficult to scratch. The aluminium has the same kind of glass you would find on a smartphone - it's durable but does scratch.
Another thing to note is that the SS always have cellular, so ensure you are comparing the aluminium with cellular, not the GPS only version.

Still cheaper than the SS Apple 8 series and this has all the whistles and bells. Probably to expensive for some but so far its worth every cent.

can someone explain this to me, can you enter in multiple coles ultimate cards in an online purchase on the jb hifi website?
my local coles has the coles ultimate everyone card ($500) and some $50 cards.No possible to use more than one “VISA” card per transaction on the JB website. Check out this comment for more detail and possible alternatives.
Additionally, $100 cards seem to be the maximum denomination available under this deal, as per this comment.
