Looks like a very good price for this keyboard

  • +1

…. waiting for Amazon price match :)

    • LIKEWISE

      Otherwise saved in cart…

      • $6 delivery for me so not too bad…

        • $6 is $6…

    Deathstalker is low profile.
    BlackWidow is normal.

  • +2

Thanks to my brother for sending me the 4 digit code that just appeared on his phone. Another $10 off.

    • How did he get this?

      • Perks

        • +2

          And done lol…
          $136 delivered

  • +4

RRP is a joke, with more than 60% off, they must still have a big profit margin.

    • -8

It probably costs like $10 out of the factory or $1 to produce…

BTW this is like 120% off of the RRP, not 60%.

This is in the same league as the Logitech G915, which never goes below 200ish

      • +3

How dare you correct an Asian for math ;)

        My calculation is correct -

        (359 -139)/359 = 0.6128…

        • Mate, this keyboard is only $139 dollars, which is $220 less than the RRP.

Either it's complete stinking garbage or somebody in the backend made a mistake…

The only one of these that costs less than $300 is the wired version at scorptec.

      • That isn't how mathematics work my dude.

"Of" is a synonym for multiplication, and 100% = 1.0, thus 100% "of" RRP is 1.0 x $359 = $359. Hence, $359 is the maximum "discount" you can apply to this product.

      • +5

Pretty sure at a 120% discount they'd be giving you money to take this thing off their hands.

      • If it was 120% off I would buy every one of them and build a keyboard fort.

  • Yeah look bought it.

This and G915 good mix to swap between for fun.

    • +1

What's funny is that I was lusting after the g915, since I already have a wireless mouse from logitech but a wired keyboard, and the G915 that this competes with enver drops below 200..

      • +1

G915 is great. Currently using it now.

      • I have G915 and I hate it. Keys are smaller and they are too close together. Very prone to typos.
You cannot even change custom color schemes without having to go to the convoluted Logitech app

        • Definitely don't get a G915 if you prefer larger key travel distance, it's designed to have the minimum travel distance possible to reduce typing fatigue

          • @Jolakot: wish I knew this before I got it. I cannot complete a sentence without at least 2-3 typos. I also hate those G1-G5 keys on the left. Keep mistaking them for tab, shift, ctrl.

  • duh just bought a logitech mechanical,

  • +1

Was waiting for Boxing Day deal for mx mechanical, but changed my mind now

    • +1

Yeah this might have been a mistake by somebody working at jb hifi's corporate side of things, unless we see others dropping the price also… amazon camels haas had this at 370 since it came out

  • Pity its Wireless.

    • +9

What's funny is that the sole reason that I'd bought it is that it's wireless.

    • Could always plug it in instead. Still does seem like a waste having a wireless keyboard that is always plugged in.

  • +1

thanks bought one, will compare with logitech mechanical

  • Price changed whilst I was going through checkout. Booooooooooo!

    • Me too, bummed about it now.

  • I have a TKL corsair k63 with lapboard that I've had for yonks which is an amazing keyboard but… damn this is a good deal for a brand new release full size razer keyboard that is so far reviewed well.

    Buy now, think later. Done.
    Thanks OP!

EDIT: Lmao, based on the comments it looks like I'm the last person to submit an order successfully at the deal price. Literally refreshed 5 seconds later to see above (9 seconds ago at the time) comment saying price reverted… :')

  • oos?

  • +1

    Nooooooo just missed it 😢

  • +8

    Phew just saved $140

  • Rip, seeing it back at $359

  • Wonder if anybody successfully ordered and won't have their orders cancelled.

    • +1

Will update here if my order is cancelled. As per above I believe I'm very close to the last order submitted… <fingerscrossed> it isn't…

      • +1

Crossing my fingers for you too mate! That'd be an awesome Christmas present for yourself if you get it!

        • Just got tracking information and a tax invoice. It's confirmed and on the way!

          • +1

@Jayblesz: Well done mate! That's a buy of the year I reckon.

          • @Jayblesz: Only just got the shipping notification now…

  • My order went through at $139 as well just before it went back to full RRP. Fingers crossed. Which is what you shouldnt do when your gaming btw…

  • Damn missed out. Been waiting for a decent wireless gaming keyboard deal

  • -2

Told you all so - this keyboard is not gonna be $140 for a long ass time - somebody in the corporate side of things must have mismatched the prices of two different products… it's like apple selling an iphone 14 pro for 60% off of the RRP.

    • +2

Okay Johnny, go on rub it in mate…

The price changed during checkout, sneaky sneaky :(

  • +2

my order confirmed, waiting for click and collect email/sms, finger cross

Update: received confirmation for click and collect

    • +1

you're a true ozbargainer buying another keyboard… respect

  • +2

    Well.. I saved $139.

  • My order is ready for collection. I'm planning on picking up later today so I hope they don't just cancel it.

  • -3

Is it just me or did Amazon have a similar one for sale? (or maybe it was the wired version)

  • +4

Can anyone share a receipt if they get it? Worth trying to price match

    • great idea.. i was about to buy one

      • fingers crossed

  • +13

Picked up my order. Amazing luck. The exact keyboard my son wanted, but was too expensive. Hes going to be wrapped.
Thank you my Ozbargainites. You are all my heroes.

    • Good for ya mate and to the op who's made it all possible :)

    • +1

Could you please share the receipt for those who would like to try price matching? Would be greatly appreciated

    • No worries, hope your son enjoy it :)

    • +2

@chromesphere please share a copy of receipt so I can try to price match, thanks mate.

      • +2

@chromesphere Can you please share the receipt so I can do the price match. Thanks in advance!

    • +2

@chromesphere can you also share a copy of the receipt please?

      • +1

Here is a copy of my online reciept with specifics blacked out. Hope it's useful.

        • Can you actually price match with receipt?

          • @monpemon: no idea sorry but people above were askin for it

    • are you winning son?

  • +2

Not sure how accurate the sound representation is in this vid review by The Techne - but it doesn't sound/feel good for typing on imo. 'Mushy' typing experience also highlighted in these reviews - Tom's hardware , Trusted reviews

…But it's probably good for gaming as per it's target audience otherwise.

    • +1

I got mine, picked it up.

It's not too terrible. It feels slightly mushy, but that is to be expected with switches with dampeners.

The problem I feel lies with the chassis, it feels hollow from the noise it makes when I tap the case.
The stabilisers are terrible too, I guess.

      • Aah thanks for sharing your experience… definitely saved myself the $ then given I would've just used them for typing and likely would have not been satisfied given I already have a keychron k8pro gat pro browns, k2v2 gat reds, ducky miya pro panda mx silvers, and ordered the akko 3098s cs jelly pinks from a recent deal here.

        • +2

As I said, it's not the worst I've seen. Frankly speaking, I feel like the keyboard does have some potential to be great.
It's a contactless design, the switches have dampeners on, it's a low profile keyboard.

It's just meh out of 10 from me as is, might benefit from bit of modding perhaps?

  • I had one ready to checkout and I afked. I have regrets.

  • -2

It seems still available in the store, just picked one about 30 mins ago.

  • My order went from processing to shipped. Finger crossed.

    • Yep mine too. No tracking yet but marked as shipped. I found out as I got prompted by a "Tell us about your online shopping experience" email.

      • Just got despatch confirmation and tax invoice. It's in the mail!

  • +1

I was able to get the deal via the chat. Just asked for the price and they did it for me!

    • Hey! I tried via chat but they did not price match it. Can I ask what you actually said to them?

      • Yeah, I just said my mate bought it today but I missed it when I logged on. Just did it for me

  • +1

I went in store and they had them on the shelf with that price. I bought it without any questions or strange looks. Guessing it's a in store price for today.

    • I just rang thru to a store that had and it scanned at full price :( Guess you got lucky

  • Excellent, thanks so much OP! I managed to order it with click and collect before they reverted the price - just picked it up this evening. ^_^

  • What's everybody's thoughts on this keyboard? Picked mine up this morning and boy does this thing look and feel good - I really like how the keys are slim profile so they are very much usable for regular desktop applications AND gaming.

Also FYI, this keyboard is part of the 'new' line up with multiple devices being able to connect to the one USB 2.4g dongle.

    • How are the modifier and space bar stabilisers? Any spring ping from the switches?

      • I dunno man, it feels pretty good overall - the keys are not as chunky or mechanical feeling as the Logitech G512 that I have and it's pretty nice, overall.

It could be a gaming or a regular keyboard.

      • +1

It's not lubed, and the chassis, as I mentioned above, is way too hollow.

After opening it up (held down with multiple screws on the plate) and putting some drawer liners inside, it sounds much better.
I will probably have to also do the stabiliser and maybe even the switch itself if I feel up to it (likely since, weekend and what not).

        • Can you please expand a bit on what you did?

          What type of draw liner?
What shape did you make it and how many layers?

          Thanks

          • +1

            @Jayblesz: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/razer-deathstalker-v2-pro…

That should give you some ideas on how to pull it apart (basically it shows where all the screws are).

In terms of shape and layers, I just did one, since I didn't want to over do it.
It's a relatively thin drawer liner and I just did a rectangle.

I feel like it would be trial and error, but basically it is to reduce the space inside to reduce the reverb.

            • @iridiumstem: Cheers! Is the material you used like fabric, paper or laminate?

              • +1

@Jayblesz: It is a spongy, soft liner that you can easily cut with scissors.

I guess i should add do at your own risk, since overstuffing it or other possible risks might be present with modding.

    • Yeah i started using mine today..
Very happy with it, feels very solid to me

  • If it helps anyone, I have this in white (paid a lot more for it than this deal sadly!) and just changed out the switches in it yesterday. White only came in clicky which I didn’t like, but I’ve also seen the reds described as too mushy.

They don’t advertise it as hot-swappable but you can grab some Keychron low profile switches and you’re golden.

    • How does it feel now after you've swapped them in? Can you please provide a link?

      • +1

These are the switches. How does it feel? I’m not a keyboard connoisseur so can’t give a good description but it’s all right. I’m enjoying it for gaming more than typing so far.
