at 2:32PM AEST, the price is usd229.

BUT!!!!!!! this shipping is a KILLER.

for 1 ssd, the postage costs $52.03
for 2 ssds, $54.06
for xxx ssds, $xx.xx

So, it definitely does not suit everyone! but, if you are like me, who has a parcel waiting in the warehouse of MyUS, the forward shipping costs much less.

Mod: Despite what the description on Amazon says this item CAN BE SHIPPED to Australia

2 minutes before you, i already mentioned
20 minutes ago, i also said it did not suit everyone.

      • +1

Jeezus. Did that really make you feel better?

did that really make YOU feel better?

  • I can't see how this is a deal, its not like Samsung are known for such high quality SSD's that we would buy over something else that is cheaper locally.

    • Saying that; what is 'THE SSD' to go for these days? It used to be the Crucial M4's awhile back, but I assume something new has claimed king of the hill?

    • +2

Well this might not be a deal(due to killer shipping)
But Samsung makes the best SSDs.
      Why?
      1. They make their own chips
      2. They use their own controller instead of Sand Force chips
      (Intel now uses Sand Force)
      3. Writing speed is slower but it is a lot stable compared to SF driven SSDs (Sand Force chips are known for their stability issue etc etc and most reasonably priced SSDs use Sand Force)

Do some research and you'll see why people want Samsung SSDs

  • Any issues with these on a MacBook pro?

  • So this is only a deal, if you already have bought something using a mail-forwarding company?

  • +2

Its not from Amazon, its from Beach Camera via Amazon Market Place, big difference.

thanks for pointing it out, now i know why the shipping is ridiculously high.

  • Not a deal, the only price anyone can get this at is $281, and that's using a mail-forwarding company. And if they want to save on shipping costs, they have to buy something else.

Acknowledging there are cheaper deals locally doesn't make this any more of a bargain.

As garratt torlesse said, this is Beach Camera.

    • $281 is price you need to pay without using a mail-forwarding company. try yourself, before you started to accuse.

      • My bad, but you still never actually said how much it is, you just said that the shipping costs is "much" less.

        • you still have not read it carefully. sometimes, you really need to THINK first!

        • whats with all the attitude?

  • +1

why even post it if shipping is …..damn it

    • some people may be able to take advantage of mail forwarder, like myself.

      • +1

Point taken, but when most cant, then many will not see it as a bargain. And its not if many are using the MyUSA system everyday.

I am traveling to the US in a few months, so I could post all the deals that I can find as I can pick them up with no shipping costs, great to share my gains but pretty useless for most members.

Personally I would maybe post these in the forums in case others were traveling at the same time. But thats your choice, just dont be surprised with the flames..
