Slightly expensive compared to the 38" Alienware from a few months earlier.

This is no deal, if anything it's a rip off. Regardless, please stay away from 27" 1080p at any price actually, it's not worth it.

My 23" 1080p monitor already feels way too pixelated. Can't imagine using 27" at 1080p at desk distance.

      • +1

I love my 27" 1080p ASUS. Not everyone has perfect eyesight, and some of us grew up with way more pixelation.

        • +1

I grew up with CRTs and 27" 1080p is horrible, lol. But each to their own.

  • Anyone know where I could find a good deal on 2 144hz monitors or one 144hz and one 60hz monitor? Facebook marketplace etc seems to be the best place to look but was curious if you guys had any suggestions

brooo that 219 price! kicking myself for being poor and not watching ozb in july 🥲

    No HDR and this price

Fhd for 27 "should be banned

    • +10

Should be at least QHD at this price and size.

  • I got this for a second monitor when it was $219

    Good enough at that price

27" 1080p at almost $300, nothing about that sounds good, especially having fhd at 27"
for the same price you can easily get a qhd, even 144hz if you look hard enough

  • I've got this and I think it's great as a secondary monitor. It sits slightly further away than my main monitor. Easy to read and 1080 is easier on the GPU.

I did get mine as a free upgrade from 24 inch that they sold out of.

  • 1080p is fine when gaming. I got the HP x27 165hz at $215. I don't this this price is worth it though

  • +1

It's a good 1080p high refresh monitor. Very similar to the S2721DGF except it's 1080p. Good brightness, decent contrast for IPS, good image quality, minimal glow or bleed, barely any ghosting and great input lag. I have very slight interlacing at 60Hz but at 165Hz it's gone.

    • +1

the issue is entirely based on the price and it being 27", which for fhd (imo) looks awful

      • Yeah, I won't deny it's pretty rough for general use at 27" 1080p. For gaming it's really good though. You don't need an insanely fast PC to drive 1080p and the 165Hz with freesync is great. Also, it works well with the Switch.

    • You can get the S2721DGF for about the same price if you wait around long enough, dell puts them up at least once every 6 months for 350ish. At 27 inches I think its well worth the upgrade to 1440p and the HDR certification(if that means anything to you, its only 400 so eh). Either way, $50 extra gets you a considerable amount more performance, unless you have a GPU not capable of driving 1440p but even then you can just change the resolution in windows.

      • Also, the S2721DGF has better build quality (I use both these monitors side by side). It has a better stand with full ergonomics including portrait, and it just feels much more premium. However, outside of the build quality and resolution, they are very similar.

You can get 1440p 144hz at this price point, why bother.

    1080p 27" 🤮

  • +1

Considering the price of GPUs these days, I've been giving serious thought to going back to 1080p. That res at this price doesn't seem great though, regardless of the refresh rate.

Im pretty sure I payed the same or roughly the same for my s2721dgf which is 165hz, 1440p, 27in. I wouldn't go FHD on a 27in display personally, tried it and got rid of it a couple weeks later..
