Good price if you need a budget sata ssd. Better options out there if you have spare nvme slots

  • Seriously considering this. Someone please tell me why I shouldn't.

    • Needs sata power and data, no dram cache, and does Amazon US deliver to aus? Normally these deals are Amazon US via Amazon AU, but if you can get it's a good storage SSD

    • Write speeds are rubbish. If you want to install a game it will take a long time. If you want to write files to it a lot it's very slow.

BUT… if you want to use it as storage, or want to store games on it, which is far more about read than it is write, then it's a cheap 2TB SSD. Playing your game from it will be very ssd like as playing a game will mostly be reading, installing your game to it will be slower than hdd a lot of the time.

Look at the review highmargin posted below, slide number 6 for the sustained read speeds. But look at the game load times on the other slides. Tells the story.

SMI SM2259XT controller, no DRAM, SK Hynix TLC NAND, tested faster than the BX500

You won't know if Team have swapped the NAND for the review samples vs the ones on Amazon but at this price, worth a shot
