This seems expensive… I guess cause its cl14… but surely the cost increase isn't worth it over the benefits you would gain over something like cl16? ;o

    • If you don't know, you don't know.

B-Die is for enthusiasts, not those looking to build the most budget rigs.

I know about it. I am just saying the benefits don't seem worth it for the cost is all.

People go and rushed to buy the 4090. same breed.

@ATangk: There was a guy on here saying they were holding on the best overclocking 4090s until next year? Surely the guys buying this already have a 3090 and are waiting on Nvidia to put their boning stick back in their pants before bending over for daddy Jensen?

            • @[Deactivated]: Next year there are always better things. Its the nature of it.

        • Probably not in this day and age, being only 3200mhz. I remember paying like $320 for 16gb of 3200 CL14 B-Die back in 2018, damn that was rough. I managed to pick up an identical kit for $50 on facebook marketplace about 1.5 years ago though, so now I've got 32gb over four dimms which is pretty nice. G.Skill FlareX

Enthusiasts wanting maximum performance should be on a DDR5 platform now though. So this isn't even for enthusiasts, it's only for competitive overclockers.

      • Both true, but there's a certain allure for people that just like PC hardware. I wouldn't say it's a bargain either, but it's not a bad buy either.

Patriot viper exists if you're looking for good speed and capacity isn't as important to you (ie gaming). 16gb 4400mhz c19 for $166. Speed would be a crapshoot for ryzen on whether it works or not but worse case you could lower the mhz while tightening timings to get similar latency.

        • Yeah they have always been a decent buy. I ended up going all out and getting 4000/C14 Royals because why not

  • TBH, I don't think this DDR4 is a bargain considering I just bought a DDR5 32G kit with Hynix A-Die at the same price.

  • someone tell HP these would sell better without the ugly & obnoxious logo up there. I understand you wont see it once its installed but damn do these look ugly as

Just FYI I posted this same deal a couple of weeks back, ordered them, and … .nothing was shipped for days and days.

I ended up cancelling and going with "slower" 3600mhz CL16 g.skill on hynix , $250 for 32gb, they're running pretty damn well actually.

Moving from 2x8gb CL3600 CL18 to 32gb cl16 did have a different feel… Somehow the ryzen9 5900x is happier with good latency, I managed to up my benchmarks a few %.. but haven't been pc gaming in a while so hard to say more.
