I always receive 3 months woolworths gift card from Econnex although the Woolworths Group has announced all gift cards will be sold without expiry dates from 31 March 2018.

Just curious, is this a special arrangement between woolworths and Econnex and discount is higher?

      "Sold" ≠ "Awarded"

    • Hey jjj, Woolworth's announcement was basically for direct customers, but they have a different set of rules for the business.

      • Wow. I didn't even realise this was a thing. Just checked and my gift cards with $100 expired on 14th December. Not even a single dollar used. So who is benefitting from these expirations . You or Woolworths? How do I get these re instated?

        • +1

It is not the 1st or single case here. Bonus Woolworths eGC with short expiry is common. Prezzee, Bing Lee, etc. are doing the same thing.

I think you can only hope for a good result by contacting Woolworths.

You may get some ideas here on how to extend a short expiry eGC.

          • @Neoika: Now that I know about this. It just feels so wrong. There is a reason government mandated min. 3 years expiry date. Woolworths money app don't even show the expiry date on the first page. Someone has paid for the original card purchase. So who is actually benefitting from the expiry. Does econnex get it back to be sent to another person. Or is it Woolworths ?

            • @jsb: Hey Jsb, kindly contact Woolworths regarding the expiry of the gift card.

For further information on gift cards please refer to Woolworth’s terms and Conditions: woolworths.com.au/Giftcards or call 1300 101 234.

              • @Manyo: Wow. Just called woolworths and they said I have to contact you for extension of the expiry as you are the one who selected the expiry date (their exact words). So, Can you do the extension please. I have sent you a private message with the expired gift card details

        • Often a warning (like this) in Econnex Deals. eg

Like all offers - read the conditions…
The expiry date is shown when you redeem the gift card @Woolies.
Mine showed: Here's your 50 Gift Card for switching…
Your Woolworths Supermarket Bonus 3M Gift Card expires on 20 December 2022

Woolworths money app don't even show the expiry date on the first page.

If you click on the card in the Woolies Money app, it shows the activation & expiry dates!

I rename the gift cards with expiry date (e.g. ECONNEX EXP 20DEC) so it's always visible in the app.
And move short expiry cards to the top of the app. Plus set a reminder in Deal & on phone.

Pretty easy & best to spend these gift cards fairly quickly!
My 2 x $50 ones expired on 20/12. Almost forgot, but received a 3500pt Rewards offer to spent 2 x $50 in 2 weeks at start this month.

  • T&Cs say offer valid till 23rd December. Is that for activation or for purchase only? I want to switch to More but I guess it takes some time for sim to be delivered as I don’t find More Sim cards in supermarkets

    • Hey mate, in simple words, you can sign up till 23rd Dec and you will be eligible for the offer($50 gift card).

However, regarding the sim delivery, it will take 2 to 5 business days.

      • Thanks, Mate. Can I buy now and delay my activation till mid of next month and still be able to claim the 50$ voucher?

        • Unfortunately mate, sim plans do not have the option to select an activation date as it is totally the retailers' discretion.

      • ""However, regarding the sim delivery, it will take 2 to 5 business days.""

Really? 2 to 5 business days to Perth?

What do you put them on a F35 RAAF fighter and send them to Pearce RAAF base?

2 to 5 days is bloody fast

    Just beware of this company.

    • You complained in a previous Econnex Deal - you missed out when you left the sign up until the last hours of promo
Neg in above link for similar missed late sign up.

Signed up for that $150 Deal hours earlier that day & qualified.

Deals can close earlier than expected - best not leave it too late!

Some are impatient to wait until the time period specified (plus a bit) to receive the gift cards - before complaining voting next Deals down.

Never had a problem with swaps with Econnex. Spent my previous $100 Woolies gift cards last week.
      Always received the promised offer.

      • Many other people complained not recieving their cards. Read the comments in previous deal.

Looked at company and its origins seem to be from India.

        • Eligible Recipients will receive a Woolworths Store Bonus eGift Card by email up to 90-120 days after successfully switching.
With energy, the switch happens at least 10 days after you sign up.
          A few complain.

@INFIDEL: My best guess is bonus cards seem to be issued manually. Probably missing a few gift cards and hoping person wont own to them = more profit. Just a theory at this point but seems to be the consensus since alot have complained

As i mentioned before, anyone can open a comparison site in the garage. Its the customer service that matters. And this rep has zero people skills

              @easternculture: That's your "best guess"… A conspiracy theory!

No proof of your unfounded insinuation.

Strange… you were happy to sign up on 9/12/22, but missed out & 11 days later are bitter!!🤔

People frequently complain they missed out in Deals. Thats no proof.
People also need to qualify to be able to swap.

Some complain before the cards are due to be sent out.
A few have complained in Deals - but after chatting with the Rep… the email was found in their SPAM folder!

Have been following these Deals for years. Received all my gift cards.

@INFIDEL: Working theory based on comments and interaction with OP.

                YMMV .

You can continue to defend OP, however ill warn other members of potential issues with company 👍🏻

You are better off supporting an aussie company, not an offshore one

I wont be engaging with any convesation with you beyond this comment

@easternculture: Your complaints & conspiracy theory sound like a bitter "dummy spit"!

11 days after missing out on $150 swap Deal you wanted & asked Rep to fix for you…

You missed out - move on!

I wont be engaging with any convesation with you beyond this comment

Bye💋 Not missing anything with your unfounded conspiracy theory.

There are many reasons why gift cards weren't received. Best to contact the Rep to sort it out.

But some people are happier complaining!!
Some then neg Deals each time they appear. See you next Econnex Deal😉

(Even I've complained & Negged an Econnex Deal in the past - but it was due to my misunderstanding)

I make a profit on my small electricity bills through comparison Deals & other offers!💰

Received a $150 gift card from another company this week.
Spent last Econnex Deal $100 @Woolies week before
$150 gift cards to come in 90+ days from last Econnex Deal signed up to.

So I'm happy with these Deals.
But won't take up this Deal - not of interest to me as get free phone & internet.

    • Was about to say exactly this, be very cautious…

  • I signed up and received $100 on a previous offer. Very impressed!

    • How long does it take to receive the gift card?

      • +1

Signed up last week of Sept. I got e-gift cards on second week of December.
        I went from Telstra $95 a month to Superloop $55 a month.
I get exactly the same speeds.
The money way I’ve saved there alone made me not chase up the gift cards so when they came it was just an added bonus.
