Well this monitor is not gaming-oriented so 4k 60hz is fine.
Was more a comment on the “smart” tech
Bought the previous model at Officeworks recently, returned within a couple of days. Horrible to use as a daily monitor.
Unsure if this one is any different with standby functions.
Also randomly half the screen got corrupted outta the blue, nothing but pulling the plug fixed it.
Apps and interface were painfully slow. Basically striggles at the smart stuff and doesn't act like your typical monitor for desktop usage…. so does a whole lot of things…. poorly.
I use the m7 43” as my daily for work. I have not experienced what you’ve described.
Been pleasant to use tbh, gone are the days of alt tabbed windows. Screen doesn’t corrupt or anything, maybe just needed a firmware update.
Smart features wise, have been really good, isn’t slow at all on my unit, very responsive. Sound is loud enough.
Gaming on the other hand isn’t the best, compared to a 144hz monitor
Same running 32" M7 and not had any issues.
Decent speakers for a monitor too.
Also Running the M7 32 atm, its convenient to use the USB-C with 65w, swapping between macbook pro and windows laptop is so easy. Smart functions are the cherry on top. Using it as a daily driver and Nintendo switch monitor.
It can also drive a Dell Precision laptop, but you’d have to have the laptop turned on and on the login screen before u plug usb-c, otherwise laptop will complain that there is not enough power if you plug then boot the laptop.
FW was updated immediately.
I use Shields daily. In comparison it feels archaic. Not that I was expecting that level though.
I've been using the 32" M7 monitor for a while and I've had none of these problems.
But the remote seems to work off Bluetooth and not IR, so it turns on the Samsung TV I have in my bedroom regardless of where I point the remote which is very annoying as even pairing remotes doesn't stop one remote from turning off the other appliance.
samsung
smart
hows the ad situation looking like on this? I know samsung TVs are notorious for putting giant unremovable ad banners in thousand dollar TVs, is it any good with their monitors?
I have to leave both my LG and Samsung TVs disconnected from WiFi as the crap inserted into the menus is ridiculous.
It's inbuilt free Samsung shows were a bit over the top. Found it running automatically when I didn't ask.
Let's be real here, you can get the LG ultra fine for around $699 which will be a faaar superior monitor than this. Then just slap on a refurbed sff pc or a chromecast.
You'd be better off. Google TV will atleast be supported longer.
Found a 4 month old M7 model on FB Marketplace for $220 with receipt - great bedroom tv/monitor. Can use a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 cable for both display and power data.
If anyone still following this thread Samsung have recently announced successor model aptly named M80C
4K 60hz
But at least you get access to stuff you can just watch in browser
