I still have an original bottle from 1993

And probably paid around $100 for it too

    • +2

As do I, actually. And I still find it really nice.

Anyone feels like it has a glen 20 spray smell?

    • +3

Gives me more 18 year old on first trip to pub vibes.

      • +4

That is more a “Lynx Africa” smell.

        • +1

No that's 13yo walking into high school for the first time.

      • An 18 year old who hurriedly raided his dad's bathroom cabinet before his outing

  • Is this one the same as yesterday?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/749160

    • +3

No This one is the EDT(Eau De Toilette) , the one from yesterday was EDP(perfume)

    • +7

No. Eau De Toilette Spray vs Eau De Parfum. Yesterday's deal is much better (fuller scent).

EDT has less perfume oil, hence smell is much lighter (strength) and doesn't last as long.

      EDT vs EDP

      • What's the English translation of Eau De Toilette?

        • +2

          grooming water (aromatic waters)

          • @Froot Loops: Ok thanks. Google translate didn't seem to know.

            • @Mondorock: Direct translation is "water of toilet", but grooming water is a more appropriate English translation.

              • @Froot Loops: Geez , this translation is getting worse ! I'll never look at this shit the same …..

    • +5

No that was “Eau De Parfum”, this is “toilet spray”

    • +4

nope. different perfumes with drastically different compositions. they won't smell particularly alike. don't fall for the 'edt vs edp' hype; it's not like the one you linked is just a stronger version of this like some other folks might lead you to believe..

      • Not sure why you are being down voted… The other one is a totally different scent (Odyssey) as well as being an edp. This deal is the cool water scent that everyone knows and yes it is an edt…

        • +2

Just steer clear of Eau De Pisse

        • +1

Likely because the referring to EDT & EDP being hype which is incorrect. EDP has a higher oil concentration, hence its stronger and lasts longer.

The concentrations go: Eclaboussure (<1%) Eau Fraiche (<3%), EDC (2-4%), EDT (5-10%), EDP (10-20%), Parfum (20-30%).

Stating its hype states there is no difference between the classes, which is like saying there is no difference between Steerage Class and First Class.

          • -1

@Froot Loops: there is of course a difference between EDT and EDP in terms of oil concentration, yes, but to write that off as the only determining factor of sillage and longevity as many do will lead to disappointment.

            • +2

@lachlantula: It's a major player in the quality of the product and therefore its effect. It's basic chemistry.

              • @Froot Loops: im not claiming otherwise but it is not the only determinant of quality. many brands will frequently market their products as a parfum version of another perfume but have vastly different compositions - look at bleu de chanel for example. in many cases, comparing a fragrance's EDT and EDP versions is not an apples to apples situation.

in this case i am speaking on the difference between cool water EDT and a flanker that happens to be an EDP. they are objectively different fragrances with different compositions. as such, i was warning folks that they should not simply pick the other perfume because it is guaranteed to be a stronger version of what they're used to in cool water.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the normal everyday price for chemist warehouse?

    • Is there a way we can fact check CWH price history?

      • Pricehipster

      • What's the difference between checking the CWH price history and "fact checking" the CWH price history?

    • +5

Yup. $26.99 is the normal high, $24.99 tends to be low
