Much better than the 30th anniversary packs :)

You mean you didn't spend $1000 for a chance to get a Black Lotus? Are you even a fan?

      What a joke haha
Phyrexia looks good though, big fan of the aesthetic.

Commander Legends boosters look good, works out to $120/box(24), feels alright for a draft

    • Battle for Baldurs Gate is what got me into Magic in the first place tbh.
I picked up a few packs with JB perks vouchers and started Arena, then pre orderded a Compleat edition of Phyrexia. It's all downhill from here hahaha

My friends got me a Commander Precon.
Then I went to buy a few singles.
Then I bought a box of Set Boosters of Phyrexian.
Then I bought 3 Compleat Bundles from JB HiFi.

        The downhill hits hard xD

        holds hands

        • Doesn't help that the overall Phyrexian art is bloody incredible. Patiently awaiting the release of the Compleat edition so I can get mine too hahaha

          • @InsertCrow: My three compleated bundles haven’t been cancelled from jbhifi yet so I’m very hopeful .

After my previous post, I went out to pick up two additional commander precons, one box of dominaria remastered, and two bundles. Weren’t really great but got what I needed like a sylvan library.

            • @4ksandknives: Only grabbed one from Gametraders. Pre ordered early December, and they said nothing about it being cancelled so here's hoping all of us are all good

Maybe it’s inevitable but the power jumps between blocks is getting unreal …

Example: Elesh Norn, Mother Of Machines

    Effect of card: Vigilance

If a permanent entering the battlefield causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
Permanents entering the battlefield don't cause abilities of permanents your opponents control to trigger.

    Converted mana cost: 5

Thanks, bought 2 unfinity boosters just for laughs.

      Best of luck!

  • i tried to get into MTG, but my bank refused a loan. Apparently, the cards are just paper and not gold leaf.

Games Empire also has a sale on packs. They cost a bit more, but you'll feel righteous supporting an independent store.

Gamesmen seems to be cheapest for most packs, but only by five cents.

  • Haven't played this since Weatherlight/Tempest era, got some Unfinity for a laugh, thanks!

I'm sure I've got some old ones laying about, see if can get the kids into it.

EB Games refuses to sell mtg cards for a decent price. when not on sale they are by far the most expensive store to buy from. when they are on sale they often only match the price of other stores. only very rarely will they put the cards on sale for a really really good price (and in this case usually their entire stock is immediately sold out). this is not one of those times. a simple search through the internet with your favorite search engine will show that you can easily find better prices pretty much anywhere else. except the zendikar boosters for $4 that might actually be the best deal you can get, I've bought boxes cheaper than that but only very rarely. I have asked EB games multiple times if they will price match other stores i buy from like Gamesmen or Gameology and they flat out say no. so I've spent probably a few thousand dollars over the years at all these other places never bought from EB games. I can only assume that whoever is in charge of card prices at EB Games has not a single (profanity) clue about how to price their product. which is why its always overpriced until they decide to get rid of their stock in which case they sell their entire stock to whatever bot probably is waiting for the massive price drop. if they just always sold at a decent price all the time I bet they would make way more money.

edit: read the comments and someone pointed out normal commander legends boosters have only 24 packs in them so actually those booster packs are worth a bit more. out of all the mtg sale prices that would be the only one i would consider a true bargain. unlikely you'll find a better price now or ever again.

Appreciate the input, but if you do find a better deal you should absolutely create a post for it.
After a quick search I found Gameology to be the closest, however the $10 shipping really kills that deal.

I do agree with above comments about supporting local stores, hence why I never purchased any of these.
But we're all here for a bit of bargain and some may consider $5 a pack just that, being that EB Games (though not your preference) is a little more accessible to some.

      • because of the resale value of cards its very rare for a good bargain to happen and last. when EB games does sell for very cheap (recently they sold the gift box/pack whatever it was called at 80% discount I think, keeping in mind thats 80% off their usual price which was about 150% normal price going by ebay but still a great deal ) it sells out immediately. I've seen 4 or 5 ebgames deals come and go and missed all of them except for one quite a long time ago, but that wasn't a super good bargain like the 80% discount, more like just a decent bargain like the commander legends boosters you posted (25% off normal prices). If i ever see another deal ill post it, but i don't monitor their website all day so ill probably miss it again :(

your post was worth making though, even though i wouldnt consider most of those packs a good price, the zendikar packs are i think a very fair price, possibly best deal around, and the commander legends an actual bargain and it didn't sell out immediately so i guess people are missing it because they didn't realize those packs come in boxes of 24. I missed it too until i read the comments.
