I have this one and it’s really good. My only criticism is the top plate is pivoted in the middle so depending where the food is positioned will determine how level the top plate is.

    • agreed & seems to get hotter quicker than the slice 2 version I replaced with this

    • +1

So you just have to make sure the food is placed in the middle (from front to back), and it's ok?

(Not being a smart arse - legitimate question, aha) :)

      • +2

depends on food - most time of time just means pushing gently on front or back to get the balance right

matters more when you are trying to do cheese melts and don't want crispy top from contact with heating plate

got this 6 slice one and it's 👌

  • Cheers OP, grabbed one.

  • thanks OP cracker price

  • Are the plates flat both sides ot grilled lines one side?

    • +1

      Flat both sides

      Which is what I prefer.

      • +1

I like curves, front & back

  • yup grabbed one. great price

  • Why is it $50 off when spend $100 is there somthing wrong?

    • Yep.

I would love to know how much this has cost eBay today, but we'll probably never find out.

      • +1

$50 for 5 uses per login - if 4000 people use it to it's fullest (not unreasonable for the number of clicks from the many deals on OzB alone) that's $1,000000.

    • I'm pretty sure this is a price error. If you click on the T&Cs for the code:

Items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code JANHNG is found in the item listing. Save:● $10 when you spend between $100 - $199 in one transaction;● $20 when you spend between $200 - $499 in one transaction;● $50 when you spend between $500 - $999 in one transaction;● $100 when you spend $1000 or more in one transaction.

      • They're going to have a hard time cancelling this one - I bought a lot of German tools Knipex,Wera and Whia and the seller has all ready provided tracking numbers…

Remember you only get 5 uses of the code per ebay login.

Carol just went out for Sushi and Ebay fell apart when she never came back.

    • I was thinking the same thing

  • Butter + Bread + Kimchi + Cheese = chef's kiss

  • Thanks OP, ours just packed up so been in the market for a new one. Hope it's honoured.

    • These are great but our second one just died. Same issue both times due to wrapping the cord around the keeper which over time compromises the wiring.

      • +1

Stuffs up the wiring in the cable, from bending around the keeper, or stuffs up the wiring at the connection / where it wxits the body?

Best way to avoid? Just use a velcro strap or something to bundle the cable together?

        • Try telling my wife that :))

      • What is a keeper? I have this and want to avoid problems

        • +2

          Be gentle with the cord.

You destroy electrical cables by tightly wrapping them around things.

          • @Nom: thanks. makes sense

  • Thanks! Been after one to replace my aging 2-slice one for a while. Hope this stacks with the Westpac ShopBack offer, but even if not, still winning haha.

  • Thanks OP just bought one

  • Too slow, had in cart, code now no longer working

    • Bah, just missed it

  • Same, too slow to search for a better option and decided to get sunbeam one but no luck

Party is over Franco Cozzo called ebay

    • It doesn't look similar at all.

For a start it's white plastic versus shiny stainless steel

  • is it me, or do these big 4 slice presses always squish the living hell out of bread? e.g. pressing a single slice. I know you can use the click system to set heights but it's janky af

    • +1

Stands to reason as the bigger the device (4 slice vs 2 slice) the heavier the top part becomes. One of those instances where bigger may not necessarily be better for all use cases (i.e. making just one sandwich vs 4).

      • True. I find it frustrating because even if you want to press a bunch of slices of bread (we use ours as a toaster, it retains the moisture in the bread and crisps up the outside like an actual toaster without burning so easily) it still squishes them all :(

        • -1

You know that dedicated toasters exist ? They even have an adjustable timer so they never burn your toast !

        • +1

I'm tempted to get a Mitsubishi TO-ST1-T. You should get one of those babies! 🤣

    • This has a dial/lever on one side so you can adjust the height that the top plate sits off the bottom.

  • Anyone had theirs shipped yet?

  • +1

No, still waiting, have received no word at all since order confirmation from ebay on the 7th.

  • +1

Still no sign of shipment. Emailed Bing Lee earlier in the week & no response.
    I should have done a C&C

    • Has no update on that either. I had chosen for C&C on 7th and nothing yet!

    • Im guessing they oversold it due to not having a proper/accurate stock limit on the listing, and are now either sourcing more stock / waiting for more stock to arrive…or they are drafting up refund emails!

Or, they are were just inundated with orders from the code, and just slowly making their way through.

Fingers crossed they come through! (With the sandwich press, I mean!)

      • That makes sense; as much as I hate to be getting the refund back, I want them to update soon. I was looking for something similar for myself and this would have been perfect addition to my collection of Breville equipments.

  • I'm still waiting as well.

I just clicked on the original listing & its still there - It says more then 10 available so not sure why ours havent been sent out yet….

  • Got my dispatch email today.

  • Also got dispatched today.

  • +1

    I’m still waiting…

    • I just got my email dispatch - yours shouldn't be too far behind!

      • Same, dispatch email just received.

      • Just got my notification. Pretty poor service. Every other item I ordered that day has long been delivered and used.

        • +1

Considering the circumstances, I'm glad that I'm getting it at all. Better late than having the order cancelled or otherwise reneged.

  • +1

    Mine arrived today. Winning!
