Melbourne Zoo Membership. Cheapest Option

There have been prior discussions, as per below link, but nothing recent that i can find.

Just wondering if a Perth zoo membership with reciprocal membership to Melbourne zoo is still a valid method of obtaining slightly cheaper melbourne zoo membership.

From what i can tell it still holds true but wanted to see if anyone has done this recently before biting the bullet.

depending on family size this might be cheaper. its 110 for adults and kids in same households below 16 are free (20 bucks joining fee too)

still get to go to others in australia (i used it for meblourne)

not sure if u need to pick up the memebrrship card in the local zoo though still (back then i had too.). i think its all digital though.

    • Not sure if it has changed recently but a while ago Melbourne and Taronga zoo has different pricing structures for membership and interstate membership might have to pay some extra for kids to attend. Basically Melbourne zoo only charge adults for membership and kids get along free but some zooz charge discount rate for kids membership so they do this extra charge to recoup the cost.

  • Teachers get a discount at Taronga

  • Just wondering if a Perth zoo membership with reciprocal membership to Melbourne zoo

What did Melbourne zoo say when you asked if your Perth zoo membership was valid?

    • Have not tried was hoping somebody here would be able to fill me in prior to trying it

      • @bluntman, did you find out if Perth membership was valid @ any Vic zoos ?

        • No decided not to risk it

  • They all increased the price, now difference between melbourne and taronga and Perth is much smaller. approx $35 for 1 year, maybe not worth the hassle.

  • Is this zoo underfunded or something, I've been with a few international people but always feel humiliated to be associated with the place when I get in, there's not even signs on where the animals come from or QR codes last time, was an utter embarrassment. These days I pretend the only zoos we have are up North and hope they don't Google.

Infact there is no Zoo in Melbourne, so sorry you can't buy a membership.
