      Stay away from vodaphone

      Where do I live?

      • ?

You gave an instruction buddy, the implications of which are that it is universally applicable.

You don’t know where I live so you can’t possibly know that I get far better reception (and far better speed) on Vodafone than other networks. This is true of many areas (particularly inner urban).

That attitude to posting (where you are misleading pretty well everyone) is just utter wnkery. Irredeemable, fcknuckle shitbird wnkery.

@0jay: Couldn't have said it any better myself Ojay. Seriously, I couldn't.
I get pissed off with similar Voda bashing comments. Just in the same way when commenters over generalise on big brand organisations based on their 'usually' one time experience alone.
I've used Vodafone exclusively (Inner N/East Melbourne) since about 2016. Very few hiccups compared to my previous repetitive F*kUps from the BIG player in this game.
            Call quality = great.
            Data speed = ditto
24/7 Customer Care (usually overseas call centres), and personal experience with service has been outstanding so far.
Flexible plan options and 'somewhat' negotiable, e.g, my current year plan, $35pm, includes some International calls, which I don't use, and 120GB per month at full speed, and if expired, 2mbps, which I have never got close to using full speed allowance so far. Hot spotting allowed (conditional). 5G included where available.
I don't plan on travelling to 'shitsville' to worry about reception, but if I did, I'd probably hire a Satellite Phone. No existing network guarantees coverage 'everywhere'.
And 'NO', I'm not affiliated with Vodafone in any way.

            • @dusty4: Folks do it with Optus as well, always it’s contingent on location as to whether it’s a good choice for you.

Like, bitch about customer service if you like (though best stick with the reseller if you wanna stay relevant to the post if it’s an MVNO) but faark man.

This person’s just made an all encompassing statement though, people don’t always go so hard.

@0jay: those are some funny words ;-). One can only speak from experience and I also live 2 KM from CBD.Its bad across the board which i experience often comapred to my old boost. Was not even able to call uber in new years despite having full bar on 5g and had to use my partners phone on telstra 4g. So I stand by my comment but will ad that it is in my experience using it for last 5 months compared to telstra.

@Safoan: I’ve no doubt Vodafone’s less than ideal where you live but you made a sweeping generalisation.

Saying X network is sht is a meaningless statement unless you state where you’re located.

I’ve only been on the South East coast in this country since using a mobile so it’d be dumb of me (and misleading) to trash any network without first stating where I find it to be problematic.

Having said that it’s my understanding that 5G can be flaky even with full bars. I’ve never had a 5G device so have zero experience but it’s my understanding that locking to 4G can sometimes solve issues like the one you described.

            • @Safoan: Then maybe EDIT your original comment to reflect this?

              • @dusty4: Mate i was just sharing my experience and providing feedback on what I have experienced moving from Telstra and i think anyone reading it will know that i am one person taking form my experience. I am sure vodaphone network is great in many places and my phone works most of the time in most places. I just noticed it not working too many time which i never faced with telstra network. It would just work even if its slow at least i mt would be useable. Its not speed that i am talking about it is the overall experience. I travel quite a bit including interstate for work and it has just overall been a worse experience for me comapred to telstra. Litte issues i face often include-
                1. On 5g it just would not work some times( need to manually swith to 4g/3g and than sometimes it fixes the issue)
                2. At Home when making call it would just fail to call and i noticed that VOLTE would not show next to signal bars sometimes.
                3. While talking on the phone in a moving car call would just drop or if its over messenger will get choppy sometimes.
4.Listing to music in my car it would just buffer sometimes even withing 20-30 km of the CBD which would never happen with telstra unless i am super remote.

So as you can get boost for a little more money which I would happily pay next time.

Voda are the best where I live

  • does it offer 5G?

    • says: Vodafone 4G+ Network

      • +1

This is a reseller though, could be they’ve just not updated the site.

Pretty sure (happy to be corrected) that Voda (including resellers) offer 5G to everyone dependent on compatible hardware and 5G coverage in your area.

  • Can I buy this and activate it in March/April?

    • Looks like 90 days

      • I thought it is 60 days

No VoLTE. Not using Lebara till they implement this.

    • Correct me if I'm wrong, but is VoLTE a Lebara thing or a Vodafone offering?
I'm with Vodafone directly, however I thought Vodafone offered all call functions to all customers, including those connected via Resellers. Be good to know.

Have used Lebara on & off sim hopping for years. Always found their service & support good and deals up there with the rest.
Always do your own research, are there Voda towers in the locations you require service. Are there blackspots, do u need 5G, 4G etc.
When using Lebara make sure your APN is setup correctly, google it or call support etc.

  • Very tempting… Does anyone know how you can choose your own mobile number? Is there such a service?

  • I puchased the $188 plan and paid for it in full, when trying to activate it, its prompting me to pay $300?

    • Same here. They have made the activation so confusing.. trying to sort out via support..

      • Did they solve your problem?

        • Yeah, i am innthe same boat. Was the issue solved by contacting support?thanks
