superforever on 17/07/2012 - 12:28 ¶Did you scroll down the description page and read? Or the main DSE page?
Don't neg me if you don't know how to read.

firstly I never negged anything, I think its a good deal
secondly it was showing at $149 on the product page, but the deal said save $50 now $49
No need to get your knickers in a twist, obviously a problem on DSE end, just commenting on their apparent lack of maths ability

+2 voteskingmalgoo on 17/07/2012 - 12:22 ¶I'm still waiting for an explanation from Dick Smith as to why they can't deliver my order with the MCD183 from last week, they're "out of stock" according to their CSR, yet still selling them online >.>
+1 votekingmalgoo on 17/07/2012 - 17:02 ¶did you get the same useless "please contact on blah blah blah" note on the order, with no actual notification other than that that the order wasn't going through?
if they're going to cancel or delay orders, some actual communication from them would be nice, like an email, shouldn't have to constantly check the orders page to see whether they've deigned to send it - especially after taking the money >.>

have u got one? how is the base on this speakers? on low volume is the base good?
"Offer ends 17/7/2012"
didn't say ends at or ends after this day. so guess it ended at 00.00am! LOL
shows $149 for meBottom says..

For it's size the "base" is pretty good, and they do play quite loud without distorting. If you are a bass head you will need something bigger and dearer. However under $200 there is not much choice these days as everything is a tiny Ipod dock - this is miles better than any of those!

I wouldn't say they made typos
According to the following DSE link they were selling it for $99
http://dicksmith.com.au/product/AE2841/philips-dvd-micro-hif...
They've fat-fingered the online special price.
The $149 price is on the catalogue number "AE2841WEB" - ones ending in WEB indicate online-only specials or bundles.
The $99 price is the normal special on the regular item "AE2841".
Logically, the web-only special should be cheaper than the regular item, and the banner on the front page is consistent with that - $49 save $50 matches the normal item being priced at $99.

I just bought this on weekend to replace my busted bedroom player and the Phillips deal looks better.
Might pass that to the kids - http://dicksmith.com.au/product/AE2848/dick-smith-cd-micro-h...Update: Also ordered over phone. No option for collect so with $9.95 delivery, comes to $58.95.

FM Antenna connection, Digital audio connection, coaxial out connection, Headphone 3.5 mm jack, Analogue Audio Out (L/R), RCA Aux in, USB, 3.5mm stereo line in - Video Output: Composite CVBS (yellow cinch), Component Y Pb Pr (cinch)
Looks like it has component and RCA in, so yes you can attach this to any LCD.

they have also removed the reviews on this product from previous customer.
the reviews were all pretty bad.find the separated page with the review:

I almost got the Bauhn one from Aldi. http://www.lasoo.com.au/catalogue/aldi-catalogue-special-buy... Lucky it wasn't in stock when I checked. I guess Philips is better even though it doesn't have HDMI. And Yes I was one of the geezers who spent all that time on the phone ordering one but sales Rep Jamie was nice to deal with!

supabrudda on 17/07/2012 - 14:20 ¶Does anyone know what sort of equalizer has this got….I can't see any mention on philips site.
I'm just after something like this so when I play those very bassy movies, I can turn up the treble/etc & actually hear what's been said. the dvd option is good too.
supabrudda on 17/07/2012 - 15:11 ¶Thanks actually I dont want the bass…I want to lower the bass & boost the rest.
I had a quick flip through the manual & there's preset Eq & also
"Automatic loudness control increases the treble and bass effect at low volume levels"
which sounds even better….

+1 voteLooks like a great deal, but still doesn't have a big feature that justifies me purchasing it..
- It supports divx/xvid , but not x264 mkv
- it supports composite & component , but not HDMI
- no AM radio (I listen to AM way more than FM)
- its supports MP3 .. but not FLAC
Note: for the price I'm not expecting those features or criticising the deal, it's a great one for many, and I'm sure it has awesome sound quality .. just don't think it would be any use for me.

How do you claim it for $49? I tried it and it shows $149 in my Cart.
