Found this projector on Amazon, looks like a good deal to me. The reviews seem pretty good as well.

The $45 voucher which automatically applies at checkout, might be targeted though.

The description and technical specs clearly say it's 720p resolution and then some reviews state it's actually lower than that at 800x600.

  • +3

    Real Resolution is 1280x720P!!!!

    Nice comment from review
"Absolute rubbish for cheaper price" lol

Thanks for pointing out. Yes it is HD 720p. With that price, might be still a good buy for travelling, holiday etc. I think…

    • +1

still a good buy for travelling….

you need to bring projector while travelling???Lol…. That will come as excess baggage

  • +1

Would you buy a TV if it said 4K when it only applied to inputs and hidden lower in the ad was the actual resolution?

    These ads are terrible.

  • Not to point out the obvious, but a basic projector costs closer to $1000.

You can't build a proper projector for $135 without taking massive shortcuts everywhere.

    • These are essentially a phone screen with a higher power LED and some lenses.

      I wouldn't pay more than $50 for mine. And I didn't

Nice one. Have you been happy with that one?

        • After some modifications, somewhat. I had a specialist application for it, so it suited my needs. For anyone planning to use it as a projector projector, I can see them being severely disappointed.

Biggest flaw was the sound. It comes out in mono, at very low volume, and the 3.5mm jack not only is partially blocked by the video port but also is unamplified.

          • @outlander: Really appreciate your insights. Thanks 😊

@staz: I have a Blitzwolf BW-VP1-Pro, which appears to be the same spec internals as the one from this deal. It was about $100 from Banggood. Albeit about 2 years ago.

It's pretty good for the price. You need a fairly dark room or use it at night if you want a big screen. I project a 100" screen. The fan to keep the LED cool is somewhat noisy. Focus and keystone are not as accurate as a expensive projector. Colour gamut and contrast don't have the range are not amazing, so dark films etc are a bit gloomy.

I bought it for an outdoor portable karaoke setup running from batteries. It's great for that. My partner and I use it might more than we'd expect for things like outdoor movie nights.

We have a high end projector in the house, so appreciate the limitations of the little protector. But I'm super happy with it considering what it cost.

Many of them have fake specs listed. 1080P native is nice if possible. But doubles the price. IMO avoid the really cheap ones like that 480P eBay $50 model. I tried something similar first and while cheaper, it was much much less usable, so I returned it. That particular eBay one is only 240P resolution! Also much much less bright.

As a comparison, the Blitzwolf one I use draws about 100W. The eBay extra cheap one I had was about 15W, and only good for a small screen somewhere very dark.

  • many positive reviews, maybe worthy a try

In general low end are also loud as hell and run very hot with poor or no keystoning. If gun to my head had to get a $150 projector I’d go the Yaber one with a dedicated screen included

  • Got a 1080p one for $85 a week or two ago https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B2R7WBBK

They're regularly ~$100 for no-brand 1080p projectors. They're crap in any light at all - require darkness (blinds closed etc), but they're a neat tech toy to have. Have had fun using in hotels on walls with a Chromecast HD

This one has 'wifi', but a Chromecast HD solves that for $50 anyway and you'll have a much better experience.

      That one is 720p…
      Look at the native resolution

      • You looking at OPs?

          Your one.

Sorry bud, but you got scammed. Hopefully either you don't mind 720p or you are still within the return period. Good luck.

          • @brotherfranciz: Not seeing this on the page, where in the page do you see this…?

Edit: Found it hidden after ctrl+f, either way apples for apples then… $85 vs $135. Depends if you value very poor quality wireless displaying at $50 or if you would prefer to buy a Chromecast HD and know at least it is quality.

Edit2: Actual review, they all kinda suck compared to any real deal one, but they're good fun as a camping trick. A quick movie in crappy quality in ~100'+ is quite neat for <$200. The keystone correction is blurry as crap (ie needs to be straight on with no correction) and you wouldn't want this as a home theater screen (just isn't quality enough) but it's fun for what it is. I don't regret my purchase at all. If you want it for an actual home theatre, pay actual prices - those go for easily in the thousands. Even the cheap mini ones are ~$700

  • You can make a 1080p projector for $2 with a bit of cardboard, a plastic fresnel lens, and your old mobile phone.

Not great, but cheap. Just like this :-)

  • 720p… No deal

  • How are they allowed to play games with the resolution? They should only be allowed to advertise the native output resolution, not what it can support.. Its a downvote until the misleading advertising stops.

  • No deal…720p
