I thought nothing could make Vegemite better.

I thought nothing could make a chiko better.

I feel like my life is about to be changed.

Vegemite on a dry weetbix works too. That's a poor child's dinner in the 60's.

        • +1

With home loan interest rate and CPI rises, this might make a comeback

        • Vegemite on 2 weetbix with a chiko roll in the middle. Aussie sandwich.

    • Have to get my missus to try that :o she loves a chiko and Vegemite.

    • Vegemite and kettle chip sandwiches are something else.

YES! I buy 10 boxes everytime it's on sale and eat 2 at a time. Friends ask me, "why do you eat this shit? you cook alright." e.g. I made nasi lemak from scratch today, sambal sauce, brined the chicken for 2 days before deep frying, and made a huge batch of beef rendang. I spend half a day cooking, then I don't feel like eating it. THIS is what I want to eat.

Good idea.. i will be grabbing at least 6 boxes this time around.

      We must be related somehow

    • +1

Swap you your nasi lemak for another box of chiko rolls?

      • Totally would, but gave it all away. I had 2 servings

    • Next step: Chiko Lemak

    ok to airfry?

    • +8

yep, great, but microwave the frozen chiko roll on high for one minute first, to help cooking.

Currently same price at SA Drakes
    .

  • These are handy to have in the freezer for when you want to snack… better then chips or chocolate .. very low in fat so low in seed oils

    • Thank God it's low in seed oils, but what about the soy? Or has bro-science moved on from that?

    • Yeah but look at all the carbs 😜

  • Possibly the most unhealthiest thing i have eaten and disgusting too.

The macros and Ingredients look ok… What do you think is that unhealthy about it?
If you heat it up in the oven its fat/seed oil content stays low so its inflammatory response in the body is also low
Eat some fruit with it to help boost the vitamin and fiber intake.

      • Eat some fruit with it to spike your blood sugar levels so you can keep more bad cholesterol in your bloodstream!

On a side note are you intending to imply eating fruit with carbs and processed oil > better vitamin intake overall?

      • Have you looked at it's ingredients list bro… it's all artificial crap and seed oils, there is no nutrition to be had. They even add soy protein to make up for the lack of any real protein.

Anytime you see a product add soy for protein, you know you shouldn't eat it - biggest red flag.

        • foods that boast a high nutritional value are indigestible or not well assimilated. Except for steak.

        • Well that's a good thing adding soy protein to make up for the lack of it
