It'd make a world of difference to list the price, OP.

  • +2

hey OP you left out price in title

    USD 499

I still think the Transformer infinity is a better deal!

    • +2

      an infinitely better deal?

    • at first..i thought thats the title of a new Transformers Movie :P

  • Better full HD screen.
faster processor.(not sure about the GPU thou)
    More output ports
    Dock compatibility

Only possible advantage is if ur looking for the S-pen usage and a rumored 2gb.

Oh and did i mention that ASUS has always provided much quicker updates. Transformer prime upgraded to ICS in 1.5months. Galaxy tab>>>> Still waiting

    • …as are the Toshiba Thrive tablets. Really p1$$ing me off as Jelly Bean will be out soon (if not already).

      Damn you Toshiba and Samsung!

      • please add Acer A501 to your list as well. still no updates for ICS.

        • And please add Motorola Xoom and Xoom 2 to the list.

        • I think Motorola is quick on updating their OS? even old Xoom is getting ics.

    • I don't know if you can definitely say that the processor is better. The Note looks to be quad core now, and if it's using the Exynos processor that's in the S3, then it should be a beast.

in fact I might go so far as to say that the Note might actually be faster than the Infinity, but we won't know for sure until the device is actually released.

      Eg: http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/review/2184581/htc-vs-samsung-gala…

The biggest difference is obviously the screen and form factor. Full HD is fantastic, but the weight/chubbiness of the Infinity not so nice.

      • The transformer infinity doesnt have the same tegra3 quad core as in the transformer prime. its actually a faster version 1.4 vs 1.7.and no word on the gpu of either. so there is no way of knowing for sure. unless Samsung went with the mali T604. Then its no competition.

        • That is true, but a bump in chip speed is not going to revolutionise performance. It will be an incremental increase. Check the Engadget review for benchmark scores: http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/25/asus-transformer-pad-infi…

        • Well then u can say the same about the bump in chip speed from the SGS2 to SGS3 of the mali-400 gpu!!
Yet the mali-400 performs much better on the SGS3

        • I'm not sure what you're trying to argue - I already posted a link to some benchmark scores showing that there is not a massive improvement. I quote:

"Like last year's Prime, the TF700 packs a quad-core Tegra 3 chip, though this time the clock speeds reach 1.7GHz with single-core performance and 1.6GHz when two to four cores are in use. (Compare that with 1.4GHz and 1.3GHz, respectively, for the Prime.) This tablet, too, has 1GB of RAM, but the memory is now of the DDR3 variety.

So what does that mean in terms of actual performance? Well, if benchmarks are to be believed, the TF700 is faster than the Transformer Prime and Tegra 3-packing Toshiba Excite 10, but only slightly. Heck, on Vellamo, it beat the Excite 10 by a mere four points, and actually lost to it in SunSpider by about 50. Unarmed with raw numbers, it's near-impossible to tell the difference."

        • Tegra3 is nothing special/ i would assume the samsung chip is faster.

That said- the Tf700 is still the best android tablet released to date.

The original Tegra2 Asus tablet (tf200?) was alot smoother than other tegra2 tablets so i would say asus know how to optimise their tablets

        • @atlas Yes. but did you forget about the fact that the Processor has to process twice as many pixels with the pixel count doubling? The fact tha the transformer infinity has a 1920x1080p resolution over the transformer prime/exite10 resolution of 1280x800
