CCFL backlit and not LED, but still it's a very compelling price. Power consumption is good for CCFL. Unlike most other TVs in its price range it does have a proper games mode for reducing input lag. The recently posted BigW 50" LCD for $498 doesn't.

  • Viewing angle on specifications tab is reported as 89 degrees which is quite shocking unless it is actually half-angle from normal to the screen plane.

    Also 50Hz only.

"50Hz only" is that a problem?

      • Not one little bit, I have an older version of this model and it is fantastic, and for the price you can't go wrong.

      • Go to your nearest TV store and ask them to show you TVs with 100Hz vs 50Hz ones (I found JB Hi-Fi stuff very helpful in this regard), and decide for yourself.

I know that personally I won't be buying any 50Hz LCD TV in the future.

        • Don't they just play blue ray discs in store?
I will mainly be watching free to air broadcasts which correct me if i am wrong the sd channels broadcasts are 50Hz.

  • Everywhere i looked says it's 60Hz anyway.

60Hz is for the North American ones. No doubt the local versions use 50Hz panels.

  • good price

  • Any one know what types of video the USB function plays?
