Can I Use My Coles Gift Card to Buy a Prepaid Recharge Voucher

Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows if I can use a Coles Gift card to buy a Prepaid Recharge voucher. I tried coles on twitter and they said to call the gift card support number but the calls kept dropping out. My local coles doesn’t answer the phone.

I was able to purchase a Telstra prepaid recharge voucher a few months ago at a Coles self checkout using the barcode of a Coles gift card as a payment method. In fact, the checkout allowed me to redeem multiple gift cards in the same transaction.

In the unlikely scenario that you get a random error message on the self checkout screen telling you that you cannot use gift cards to purchase a gift card or voucher, go to a standard checkout (i.e. a standard checkout operated by a dedicated staff member) and see whether the staff member can let you do that.

I should mention that if you have Coles Groceries (or Coles Groceries & Returns) gift card, it is highly unlikely you will be able to use it to pay for a prepaid recharge voucher, because those gift cards are only intended for purchases of food/grocery items.

All of Coles' checkouts will automatically block any attempts to use those gift cards to pay for any gift cards and SIM cards (and tobacco), so I assume prepaid recharge vouchers would also be blocked.
