[Unobtainable] eBay Plus 0% Variable Fee on Next 2 Sales by Eligible Sellers (Activation Required) @ eBay

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Seems like eBay have changed this deal again, now listed as a shorter timeframe and 2 sales. But positive news is that it's continuing in some form :)

I believe it should be for all eBay Plus members, I will edit to the Accept Offer link once the deal goes live to activate the offer.

When does the promotion run?

The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 15 February 2023 and ends on 11:59pm (AEDT) 28 February 2023 (“Promotion Period”).

Who is eligible for this Promotion?

"Eligible Sellers” means sellers registered on eBay.com.au who:

  • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
  • have an active eBay Plus membership; and
  • Eligible Sellers must activate the promotion in order to receive the promotion.

To activate this promotion, Eligible Sellers must have received an invitation to participate in this promotion and accepted these Terms and Conditions by either clicking “Accept offer” on the Terms and Conditions page or clicking “Get offer” under the “promotional offers” section of your My eBay account; and received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.

Once you have accepted the offer, the promotion will be automatically assigned to your account and will be visible within My eBay.
The invitation to participate in this promotion is not transferable or exchangeable.

For the avoidance of doubt, you will not receive the discount if the promotion was not activated in accordance with these terms.

What is the Promotion?

The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on 2 sales per Promotion Period on Eligible Listings.
“Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:

  • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
  • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
  • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.

This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period. eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time.

Items listed in the following categories are excluded from the Promotion (“Excluded Categories”):

  • Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircraft (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans, Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks, Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009). These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.

  • The Promotion only applies to variable fees (a component of your Final Value Fees). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion does not apply to the $0.30 (incl GST) fixed order fee for non-store subscribers (or otherwise have registered for a tax exempt status with eBay) or $0.33 fixed order fee (incl GST) for store subscribers, fees for optional features or services (including Feature Fees), international selling fees or any other fees set out at eBay.com.au, as varied from time to time. See our help pages on Selling fees without an eBay Store, eBay Stores selling fees, eBay Stores fees for registered businesses, as applicable, for more information.

Enjoy :)

    Not holding my breath…

    • …I am altering the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further.

    • I have the same question, the T&C is confusing.

      • +5

Listed . From the last promo I listed an item on 30 Jan and sold 1 Feb (after the promo period expired) and paid 30c in fees

        • Second this, but suggest to pay close eye on each new offer.

    • +3

This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period.

      • Seems quite clear but can confirm it doesn't work that way in reality. I always seem to sell in the month after the promo ends and I never get charged. The only times I've been stung is when its been listed for longer than 30 days.

        • I got stung by an item that was only up for a week but sold in the next month (after the promo period). So it is a risk and ebay CS won't help you out by reversing the fee as they point to that line in the T&C's that it has to sell during the promo period, not just listed.

    • +1

      My understanding is,
the FVF discount is only triggered
      (1) AFTER the sale
      (2) AND the buyer pays the seller (which confirms a successful transaction)

So, (2) needs to happen during the promotion period.

  • +3

I just sold 3 items with last months promo.
Total fees were 27cents on each item and $3 on one which had an USA buyer.

    • As in listed last month but sold this month and still paid 0 variable fees?
What about the free/half price sendle component (I think it was in last month's promo as well?)
I received an offer but won't accept if the discounts from last month won't apply this month.

      • +1

Activated on the 25th jan, listed on the 29th, sold on the 5th Feb.

        • +1

Didn't work for me. Mine sold on 5th Feb too but I got charged full fees.

          • @pixxelpusher: did you activate the offer before you posted the items? like a day or 2 before

            • @Wiadro: The offer was activated as soon as I saw it. At the start of Jan sometime.
Anyway I've now been told twice by ebay CS that any item sold after the promo period has ended doesn't count so I'll just have to wear the fee.

    • +1

I sold some, accepted that offer, paid full fees.

Couldn't find the promo otherwise I'd have raised it….

  • hmm so i need prepare the draft now and schedule the listing date to be on those date as i will be away during that time

    • You'd need to accept the offer before they are listed

    • Just do it when you are away?

      • i will be having no access to laptop only mobile but yeah i guess is still can list via mobile when i have all the photos and descriptions saved just a bit trouble

  • +4

Good to see they're bringing these back on a more regular basis. I still miss the $1 weekends, though.

  • When does the link go live?

  • Time to sell my Canon EOS R6

    • Time to sell my old Nikon 18-200mm after my D60 died.

  • !remindme

  • why don't they bring back the no final fees for 5 items? are ebay that greedy now that they dont' get a F about there sellers

    • its a business, they dont care about anyone, just taking fees to make money. Charing 13% of sale value is insane. I stopped selling with them. Used to sell about $50k a year.

      • +1

Its Australia. The market is so tiny and unimportant here they can charge whatever they want. There are no competitors here

      • they did it every year and then they stoped. soooooo being a business is not an excuse.

  • +1

    Always a downgrade

    • +2

Thats eBay! Worse for the seller with every change

      • The short time limit is the worst part. Only 15 to 28th. Really? So lame.

  • +1

    2!

  • +1

    Two is soooo stingy

  • +3

They need to offer this more consistently on monthly basis to reward their ebayplus members.

    • At least theres something for plus members now. There used to be no special benefit at all.

      • Agreed - I cancelled my plus membership but would get it back for this as I'm decluttering my tech at the moment!

        • I have ebay plus and didn't receive this offer. I will be cancelling mine. I've had terrible experiences trying to deal with ebay customer support.

  • perfect. thank, op

  • Very disappointing that it's not available to all plus members. Once again their initial promotion of the membership has not lived up to its name. I won't be joining again.

  • Anybody know what section are they talking about here -

To activate this promotion, Eligible Sellers must have received an invitation to participate in this promotion and accepted these Terms and Conditions by either clicking “Accept offer” on the Terms and Conditions page or clicking “Get offer” under the “promotional offers” section of your My eBay account; and received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.

Where is the 'Promotional Offers' section?

    • +1

It's a little box down on the left bottom of the 'listings' page. You might have to scroll down. It's also on the 'overview' page on the selling hub

      • Thank you. Looks like this ebay plus member isn't worthy!

        • +1

Give it a try in 8 days, hopefully will appear then

        • +2

Just wait until the link is posted in this thread and it could take a day or two after starting, eBay is useless and generally takes days to send it (or sometimes not at all) to members.

Always best to just activate from this thread when someone finds the link, much easier that way.

          • @doweyy: Agreed. I've been able to activate many seller promotions from the OzB link that never appeared in my seller account at eBay.

  • is there a activation link yet?

    • -1

You need a time machine, travel 8 days into the future and activate it.

  • +3

Used to be 10, then 5, then 3, now 2. Better than nothing I guess.

    • So close to being a reverse Fibonacci sequence, but it's not, so we don't have to end with zero promotion, nor have two promotions where only one item is variable fee-free.

  • Great news.. just had an auctioned item which wasn't paid for by the top bidder so I guess I can re-list it soon!

    • +2

You still use auctions? Haven't used auctions for years. Far too many unpaid bidders and some buyers will have family or health issues soon after winning the auctions so they expect to have up to 2 weeks to pay for the items (and some might still elect not to pay).

      • +1

Just checked my profile, looks like I sold 18 items in total so far via eBay since 2019 and most of these were auctions I believe. This was the first non-payer. So my experience is pretty good overall.

  • Thanks doweyy, I knew there was another promo cooking up but I couldn't find the link lol

  • Sigh… Haiyaaaa

  • +2

I wish we could all sign a Change.org petition or something like that,
for eBay to meet at some sort of 'middle ground'
    eg.
5 listings monthly at 3% FVF

  • +4
  • Loving these promotions, I've saved over $300 from sales in the last couple months thanks to these.

Though I have been stung on a couple by forgetting to end/jack my listings once the month was up.

    Edit:
Actually I forgot about my other eBay account, total of $423.75 in savings since the start of the mid-November deal.
Also the first item I've sold on eBay since they ended the Gumtree promotion….I wonder if that helps or hinders being targeted in future..

  • Will I be guaranteed to get this offer if I join eBay plus now? Anyone knows?

    • +1

      Yeah you will get it.

      • Thank you!

    • Maybe. Have eBay Plus. Still waiting for offer to display.

  • tag myself

  • +2

I'm so sick of Fraudbook and Scumtree. So many scammers!

Having to talk to every single potential buyer. It's exhausting.

Yea, eBay's fees are high but you almost certainly get better price on eBay.

FB and GT are only good for large items that are more likely going to be sold to locals. Instruments, furniture, etc.

  • +1

The link now goes to an error page?

    • Same for me - we looked everywhere

    • Yeah link is not working. I've reported it.

      • Is this deal cancelled

        • Hope not. Apparently the link will work once the promo starts

  • Had this offer in January, forgot I had it, and saved $35 in fees. Was pretty happy.

  • Anyone get any promo emails about this yet?

  • +2

Commenting to make this easier to find, don't mind me.

    • Ha, nice technique same.

  • +2

Weekly newsletter didn’t have shit about this promo 👹

  • Website link is down

Let's find out if it's scrapped tomorrow?

  • Ebay doggin everyone

  • Curious, is there a maximum sale amount?

I need to sell a computer worth $10,000, would there be any fee for this?

    • If you sell it for $1 the fee will be negligible

    • No, I don't believe so.
But I can't access the info for this specific deal.

Here is the one from jan: https://pages.ebay.com.au/sellplus3fvf/

  • Looks like this promo isn’t going ahead then.

In the past, we were able to “Accept” promos before their start dates.

  • I never receive any of the seller listing promos from eBay so fingers cross there’s one for Feb

  • +8

This is supposed to be live now but the link doesn't work - does anyone know what's going on?

    • it seems that someone at ebay enjoys driving us nuts.

  • No deal?

  • no deal, doesn't work…

  • Not working for me either. Anyone get it working yet?

  • +3

Not working either. TBH ebay's latest promos have been a farce.

  • Not working here either, but think it may just not be linked to the right page.

  • Hope this just needs a link update

  • No deal that but hoping today

  • +11

I contacted support and they have no idea about this promotion, they have sent my enquiry about it to their promotions team and say it'll take 24-48 hours to get a response to my email.

    • +4

Thanks for being proactive about it.

  • Disappointed!

  • +2

I've been holding out for this, I hope this still happens!
