Here's a lil' OzBargainer math to help you decide on value…

    (DM prices)
    700mL 12YO $98.99 = 50mL $7.07
    700mL 18YO $238.99 = 50mL $17.07
    700mL Legacy $124.99 = 50mL $8.93
    Total = $33.07

So, maybe a good price to sample these?…

    • Thank you for this.

    • Okay, so what's the cheapest per mL spirit to mix with Coke Zero?

      • The $34 bottle of Rivka vodka works out as $2.42 per 50ml, and no-one will punch you in the face for wasting good scotch…

    • $13.50 now after 25% cashback

      • No… 25 per cent CB would be $20 - $5 = …

And if BWS calclulates CB before tax, CB will be slightly less.

        • Oh ok
Still better in my pocket will return the first one.

          • +1

@G-rig: Keep the first one. Just get a second one :)

Thanks OP, Don't particularly like Scotch but sounds cheap enough to sample (or nice gift).

Not everyone wants to spend $70-100 for a whole bottle.
would make ~6 drinks so $3.30 prob ok

This is not a bad pack to start with. Glengoyne is good; I haven't tried the Legacy but the others are ok. Cask Strength is also good depending on the price, 21 Sherry is great.

      • +1

Yeah I asked a mate who's into scotch and said the 18yo very nice

      • I prefer the 18 over the 21, but the 25 puts both of them to shame, too bad about the price of the 25 though.

        • The price of the 25 is laughable; that Glenfarclas Family Cask, Glendronach Single Cask, Macallan 18 sherry level.

Be careful, there are tiny bottles. 3 are only good for breakfast.

    So it's 3 X triple pack meaning 9 bottles?

  • +4

Aye, I been to their distillery, did the wee tasting tour.
Produced in the Highlands, matured in the Lowlands (across the road 😅)

Should start calling themselves a Midland Malt.

    • Very nice. I have always wanted to try some Irish without forking out too much.

    • Thanks, just ordered Smokehead. With the price of Islay whisky at the moment, I might buy the 700ml bottles if any of these are good.

      • +1

From what I've heard, it isn't — there is plenty of smoke/peat, but not much else going on.

  • What's the situation with taking liquids onto planes in hand-luggage these days; specifically, on a SCOOT flight to the Philippines? I'd like to take one or two of these little 3-packs onto the plane with me. Would that be permitted, does anyone know? I believe I am not supposed to consume my own food/drink on SCOOT flights, but I wonder if I would be allowed to take them on board?

    • Maximum of 100ml permitted onboard.
      I would say no.
They even threw out my tuna in oil (I had forgotten to move it out of the bag) as they couldn't approximate the amount of liquid in there without opening it up.

🤦 Look at the things Osama makes us do to each other..

      • The 100ml is per item rather than a total limit. The items are meant to be stored in a clear bag with the four sides of the bag's sealed area must add up to no more than 80 centimetres (e.g. 20x20 cm or 15x25 cm).m in a bag.

My experience is the size of the clear bag, or even the fact the bag is clear or not it not normally enforced, as long as all the bottles/tubes are 100ml or less.

This rules differ slightly around the world. Link to the AU rules which at a least you would need to abide by for departure from Australia.

      • Are you sure it wasn't really about the fact you were taking tinned fish into a confined space filled with other people? =P

          1. What's wrong with that? 🙃
          2. We'll never know!😬
  • Thanks for sharing! Just ordered two for tomorrow's breakfast.

    • Have it on your Weetbix

    Cheers OP - Picked up 5 for $75 - stacked with 25% CB from Cashrewards - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/755862

    • How'd you get it for $75?

Adding 5 to cart doesn't unlock a special price. Must be your set store specific pricing?

EDIT: ahhh, do you mean WITH the 25% cashback. I understood 'stacked' with the cashback…as in, cash back on top of the $75?

      • its $75 after cashback of 25%. works out to $15 per pack - Good value imo with DM selling at $30 per pack - $25 cashback has already tracked for me.

        • Great work. They were stocked all different stores in outer east Melbourne so well played

  • Thanks.
I already bought another brandy that used 25% CB at CR.
Hope to next CB promotion soon and this price keeps fixed till that day.
