Elna EL2000 Sewing Machine White $150 (was $475) in-Store Only @ Spotlight

180

My local store (Geraldton WA) had signs up for both the 1000 and 2000 models for $150, I have no way to confirm if this is Australia wide, so if someone else goes by their local store please let us know in the comments.
Website does NOT show the discounted price, but the displayed tag said the price was valid until 14th Feburary as part of the 1 week 'Giant Sale'

Their computers also didn't scan it at the advertised price, but they corrected it at the checkout for me to match what was on the sign. Sorry that I didnt grab a photo of the sign while I was in the store.

I'm failry sure that Spotlight has these machines at these prices at least once a month.
I bought the EL2000 a few months ago and wasn't impressed. Its motor is very weak. It seems to be suitable for sewing flat, not too thick but not too thin, cotton only. Not sure if that was because my unit was a dud. Anyone else has the same machine and is happy with it?

I brought a EL2000 a few years ago for $99 on sale. I am fairly certain the machines ‘normal’ price was $199 at the time. Machine still going good, haven’t run into any issues. Only a few busted needles and jammed bobbins. Honestly no idea where they came up with this machine being worth $475, especially as an entry level machine. Spotlight is basically on par with all these kitchen shops over inflating prices to then put them on sale every second week.

  • Yup as others have said, it looks pretty basic to me. No better/bigger than the Brother you can pick up from Big W for around $160 any day of the week and any week of the year.

  • Anyone can recommend a place where I can get Elna Air Artist Embroidery Machine at a good price? Or have recommendations for a better embroidery machine on a low budget?
