Keep in mind that most specs confuse the hell out of me.

What does OB think of this machine and secondly of this deal? I've asked on Whirlpool also.

I looked at the Aspire but figured the i7 processor would be better.
I'd probably do a bit of gaming (nothing intensive) and a fair bit of graphic work. I've used Thinkpads in the past and enjoyed that they are basically a mobile workstation, but I'm open to any suggestions really.
The same model with the i7 processor will likely be $850.00 tomorrow with the JB Hifi 15% off.

Worth the extra $240?

sorry to bring up old thread but i just bought an E530 and i must say, the WD hdd is noisy as hell. create factory recovery disk also failed and i am yet to find out what is going on. it just stopped at 53% everytime.
and coming from 3 acer aspire i have a big let down feeling moving to lenovo.
i bought the i7-3612 16GB 1TB 2gb630m version.

How about this?
Acer Aspire V3-571G
Core i5-2450m
4GB RAM
750GB SATA
Nvidia 640m graphics card
Win 7 Home
USB 3.0 port x1
6 cell battery, DVD, 5-in-1 card reader, webcam. bluetooth 4.0, numpad blah blah
$610 delivered
If this is going to be a gaming or general-purpose laptop, then the Acer above would be a much better alternative because of the better graphics card. It also comes with a free backpack.
But if it's a workstation requiring good CPU power, then get the Lenovo. The Lenovo keyboard is also excellent so if typing comfort is a must, Lenovo's the way to go.
