  • This is their normal price, and Officeworks is the only retailer which carries them. But yes, as I commented the other day i'd rather buy this than the ~$130 ones from Aliexpress for local warranty/support. Seems pretty good value and I am tempted to buy one for working outside at home or whilst on the road. Stores don't seem to carry them so can't even try it out, they are special order with 2 day pick up in store. Keen to hear thoughts of anyone who has picked one up, also interested to know long MBA M1 battery lasts when powering this screen. If anyone knows of a 4K option for not much more i'd consider that also.

  • One of the most important aspects of these monitors is the max brightness or nits

    • Image Brightness: 220-350cd/m²

      • I specifically got the one I got because it was 500cd/m². And because it was 4k resolution and touchscreen. Works amazingly so far. Colour is amazing on it because of the brightness

@seefu: Normally if you want to post a url from a site you have to either be logged out, or delete everything from the ? onwards

              • @skwashd: Looks like it

              • @skwashd: do you know if the touchscreen works if your laptop isn't touchscreen?

                • @billsa: NFI that was the first result with the right price when searching for "15.6 Inch 4K UHD Touch Screen Portable Monitor 100%sRGB FreeSync HDMI Type-C 3.1 Gaming Moblie Display For XBox PS4/5 Switch PC" on AE.

If I'm going away for more than 1 night I travel with a Samsung 27" UHD screen, dock, webcam, keyboard, mouse, router, power board, and cables all packed into in a Pelican case. The rest of the time I use my iPad with sidecar.

@skwashd: Why bring all that stuff along?

                    • @Mondorock: So I can work efficiently. Pre Covid I would spend up to three months of the year travelling. I'm a contractor so I only get paid when I'm working. Those extra hours cranking out stuff from the hotel adds up to a decent amount of money over a year.

Maybe you should join the public service.

                • @billsa: Likely no.

  • Only 18 nationwide available for delivery/click & collect and maybe one in Alexandria, NSW.

    NSW, ACT: 6
    VIC, SA, TAS: 6
    WA, NT: 6

  • This is another option, not sure which is better. $12 shipping though for me with no kogan first https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-158-full-hd-ips-led-porta…

    • Screen spec's look almost identical.
I wonder if they use the same panel.

      • No big-arse logo on the bezel either (unless there's a Kogan one & it's not depicted).

  • What's the point of this if it's the same size as a laptop screen? Why wouldn't you just use the laptop screen? They should make this like 24".

    • +2

Because two laptop sized screens is better than one. Good luck fitting a 24" screen in a backpack.

      • Least easy to spot. He/she will be the one carrying a 24 inch in the backpack or as hand luggage.
