out of stock Hobbyking Turnigy AAA LSD 900mah LSD $0.99 / Battery + Shipping
This was posted 10 months 2 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Got an email from HobbyKing on this LSD battery. Minimum shipping to brisbane is $2.99. If you buy 5 AAA LSD + $2.99 shipping, it works out to be $7.94 or buy more and save more.
Here is the description from their site.
Low self discharge AAA NiMH battery. Great for remote devices, camera, transmitters, or other low discharge electronics that you want to use over several months or years without having to recharge.
Low-Self-Discharge NiMH batteries are a new technology that prevent the battery from slowly losing it's charge over time. In fact these LSD batteries can stay charged for over a year without losing more than 30% of their charge. Normal NiMH batteries would lose nearly 100% of their charge over 12 months.
Specifications:
Category: AAA battery
Capacity: 900mAH
Voltage: 1.2V
Chemistry: NiMH Low Self Discharge
Weight: 13g
Dimensions: 44.5x10.5mm
We guarantee our cells are true to their capacity!
Sadly battery marketing is an evil game, with overstated capacity being the industry norm. Generally speaking, battery factories will suggest vendors to overstate the capacity by at least 30%, marking 1800mAh cells with 2300mAh labels or more!
While this might work for toy stores, such marketing tactics wouldnt survive 1 week in our store with customer feedbacks and reviews, and thats why we guarantee our TURNIGY 900mAh NiMH cells to be at least 900mAh!

back in march they were definitely 800ma when i got mine, maybe stewballs and co were just lucky enough to catch them when they started selling the 900's but were still charging 800's price? anyway these seem to me better than the eneloop's i have and my powerex MH-C9000 charger/analyzer tell me these are slightly higher mah, but to be honest they are such small margins that they become irreverent in real world use. i would buy these again simply because they are the best bang for buck battery i found.
my order from march…..
Your order details are:
17x #T800-AAA/10899 Turnigy AAA LSD 800mah Low Self Discharge (ready to use) = $13.43
5x #T2200-AA/10456 Turnigy AA LSD 2200mah Low Self Discharge (ready to use) = $6.45
octagonalman on 25/07/2012 - 00:00 ¶AA size is on backorder so it's not a great time to do a mixed order of different sizes.
ShipShapeRC on 25/07/2012 - 06:59 ¶I have both, find both great. Had turnigies in a transmitter that sat on the shelf for about a year, ran it all afternoon without getting low batt beeps. Love 'em - have 40+
+1 voteI have both, and there is no discernible difference in day to day use. One difference I can point to is the (claimed) discharge rate. The Turnigy batteries claim they will only lose up to 30% of their charge in a year, while the newest eneloops (non the XX) claim they will only lose 25% over three years. I have not tried to test these claims, as neither discharge rate really presents a problem for my day-to-day use.

highon2str on 25/07/2012 - 06:46 ¶Bought some glitter eneloop AAAs not long ago, will these be similar in quality.?

highon2str on 25/07/2012 - 07:38 ¶Awesome, thanks.. May have to get some more. Just got gifted a 4 aaa led lenser t7 torch so this will come in handy!
googolplex on 25/07/2012 - 08:06 ¶Great deal, I'm surprised I haven't come across these batteries earlier.
I've been waiting for a $20 8x AAA eneloops to come around but it hasn't happened.Looks like this deal works out better than the 8x eneloops for $20

ive had a few cheap "intelligent" chargers in the past but they usually kill the batteries fairly quickly and had no analyzing or refreshing with them. after a lot of searching, about 8 months ago i got a Powerex MH-C9000 off ebay for about $70 iirc (from America) and it is by far the best charger ive seen/used. i wouldnt go back to a cheap charger again.

I keep on getting insane variations in the amount of recharge I am getting in my La Crosse charger. I'll put in 4 identical batteries that have been doing the same thing, 3 will charge to what you would expect from their rating, but one- it always seems to be one- will keep on going until it goes to twice their rating or more. At least that's what the number is showing.
I thought it may be something wrong with one of the four chambers in the charger, but I've tested and it is independent of the chamber.

of the 22 batteries i got a few months back they all charged to within a couple of percent of each other tho all over there "rated" capacity on my powerex MH-C9000. is it the same cell thats always getting over charged? if you dont remember which cell it was next time you charge them mark the weird one with a piece of tape.

sometimes i've had to muck around with it a bit to get quantities to work
i either tried removing everything from cart and adding quantity from product page
or
adding quantity 1 at product page and changing quantity in cart
i cant remember which one worked for me last time..i cant seem to get it working either now, limited to quantity 3 =(

That depends. I ordered a soldering iron on 30 May 2012. It was instock when my order went through. Shortly after - the order status was set to 'backorder'. 4 weeks ago I had the frustrating experience of trying to find out when my order would be in stock & delivered. Appearantly it was instock in Hong Kong (model with au plug) but not in Australian warehouse. I requested that, given the circumstances, they send the product from Hong Kong. They refused uless i paid the extra $16 freight. They told me it would take a further 3 - 4 weeks. I could accept this or cancel & get a store credit (what a joke).
The whole experience with their customer (poor)service was appauling. Online assistance took well over an hour to deliver no satisfactory outcome. AND - as at today, the item is STILL on backorder. It has now been 8 weeks and I am still waiting.
BTW - once or if I ebver get this, I certainly wont be ordering from Hobbyking again.
FreckleNuts on 25/07/2012 - 20:51 ¶Note that the "AusPost eParcel Basic 2kg (NSW Warehouse)" for $8.99 is not one of the options on this one …. confirming 26 as the magic number.
+3 votesAA's back in stock too.

I remember that around early June this year, they were $0.79 each for AAA batteries.
Getting expensive.
