Nespresso Pod Compatible Coffee Machine, Italian 20 Bar Pump, Milk Frother $89 ($8.95 Shipping*)

70

Hi OzBargaineers, I've got a very nice deal for you all today:

Nespresso Pod/Capsule Compatible Coffee Machine with a 20 Bar Italian made pump and milk frother for $89. This is the same machine Kogan is selling for $159.00 (here: http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/ez-press-coffee-machine/) except we elected for the superior 20 bar pump making it even better.

Our website has all the specific details of the unit, needless to say we broke one out at the office yesterday and brewed some lovely cuppas. We've got a reasonable quantity of stock but they are selling through like hot cakes at the moment which is fair enough as its an excellent deal, so as always - while stocks last.

So in summary, its in stock, ready to ship, its a great quality unit, we've tried it out and give it the thumbs up and its much cheaper than other offers out there - hopefully we've kicked a goal this time round OZB? :)

*** Regarding the shipping, $8.95 will cover virtually all of Australia EXCEPT far remote locations such as Outer WA, Outer QLD Country, those locations are $12.95. All inner city/metro/population centres are $8.95 shipping.

  • How long does the frother take to warm up i.e. before you can steam the milk?

    • Hi Gotbean, we made some cups yesterday - it took just a few seconds before it was blowing hot steam.

    • I think he means from the time you turn the machine ON in the morning, how long do we have to wait until we can start to make hot milk with the steamer

  • This one or ALDI Expressi?

  • Have anybody tried the Aldi ones? Are they good? The machine price is $79 but you have to buy your own frother. However the capsules are cheap…

I recently bought the nexpressi, the red one with the milk frother and all for a bargain, 2nd hand with 17months warranty still left, the only reason was I couldn't trust Aldi to keep making the pods forever, my number one gripe with Aldi is that they release items, and unless your an unemployed bum waiting for opening time you mostly miss out on buying something from their catalogue.

If Aldi stop making the pods or selling them, were all stuffed, Nespresso is made by a big brand that im sure ain't going to go belly up soon, haha! Knock on wood!

Will have to try these out when I run out of my sample pack I bought a few weeks back, but so far Nespresso is good coffee with the convenience of 1 button and voila! :)

  • imho, the Aldi machine and adli coffee aren't as nice as the MAP or Nespresso coffee.

Our Aldi machine's handle broke after 7 months of use.

  • not a coffee drinker nor have i used any of these coffee machines…so i need advice

Is this worth the money? Only the Mrs (and on occasions, guests) does so I need something that works and works well for as little $$ as possible :-)

Guessing it all comes down to the pods?

    • My wife drinks a lot more coffee than my self and i pretty much bought it for her and guests. Proper Nespresso pods cost about 80 cents each. (Aldi is about half that per pod)My wife figured it was worth paying extra for the Nespresso pods as she prefers the flavour. I signed up to the Nespresso store and ordered a sample box that had 10 pods of each flavour. Expensive, but not a bad way to start.

Also, as this seems to be similar to the Kogan unit it looks like a pretty good deal. Last I looked, a name brand unit was over $200.

      • thanks..will order one now :)

  • Impossible to buy one from Aldi unless you are pensioner or unemployed. Been to 3 Aldis at opening time for the last month and still can't get one - ridiculous! Can't even ring their stores to find out if they have stock which is a real pain.

  • Tried both the Aldi and Nespresso. The Nespresso seems to be far better flavour of coffee, but i guess it is a personal preference. My wife suggested if you are happy with instant coffee then the Aldi one would be OK, but the Nespresso tastes more like a normal coffee.

We could not justify the cost of the Nespresso machines so we bought the Kogan version. Seems to be OK and have no problems. Frother on the Kogan also works well. Looks like a reasonable deal to me.

  • Aldi for my money, and they cant be too bad if they are so hard to get.
And if you dont like it just take it back.
    Pods are also cheaper.

  • I bought this machine when COTD had it back in about January. It worked well at first - it was easy to use and the milk frother thing didn't take too long to heat up.

Then it just went down hill after a couple of months. Every time I turned it on all the water in the container started to run thru the machine and leak out the bottom. I worked around that by taking off the container first, then turn the machine on - let it make all its noises (??) and then when that stopped I reinserted the full container.

That worked for a while until each day the machine just got noisier until one day it just sounded like a jackhammer and then just stopped. Cue electrical smell - it was dead.

Sent it back to COTD for refund last week. Just my experience - other machines may be fine. I have a Sheffield (the brand of this machine) bread maker that works just fine right now ;)

I have the Aldi machine and its pretty good. I wasn't keen on the Aldi pods I tried (too bitter) but I have only tried the strongest two of the range and others may be better. I have been using MAP pods (Officeworks and Target sell them) which fit the aldi machine and they are very good. The aldi milk heater/frother is $20 and works well.

This looks pretty good for $89, but you have to froth the milk yourself!

  • Hi All

I bought a Aldi machine for work and they are pretty good value for both machine price and pod price, but the design lets this machine down as the handle can break off (if it’s forced too much when the pod doesn’t line up correctly). We had a pretty good run maybe 6 months before someone broke the handle. The machine was replaced but you have to post off the machine (at Aldi’s cost) and they post you a new one.

The next machine lasted only a day before it started leaking water, maybe a hose come loose. Again sent it off and this time had a replacement with 3 days.

The coffee taste is pretty good considering it’s a Pod. At home I have a manual machine and use fresh roasted beans.

The Aldi milk frother works well. Maybe too little milk left when using the full frother attachment vs the “heat” only attachment. It also tends to leave a small slightly burnt mark on the bottom making cleaning a pain.

The word is, Aldi is redesigning the machine, not sure when it’s due though.

This machine seems well priced, but with Nespresso’s patents ending there should be plenty more compatible machines and pods coming on the market.
