Just remember people that itspot, tech4u and wacomputers are all MEGABUY in a flimsy disguise. This doesn't mean it'll go bad for you if you do buy anything, but at least you'll now know exactly who you're actually dealing with. Caveat emptor.

why have so much type of sites?

      • +1

        Fair question.

      • +2

If you're asking why have they got so many sites for the one business, the main reason would be to dominate the search results on places like shopbot. They want to take up as much space as they can on sites like that so you're more likely to purchase from one of their clones rather than anyone else. Sadly, it probably works.

Second reason might be to try and hide from the absolutely horrific reputation that Megabuy have built themselves.

        • Okay thanks

just been reading some of the links you gave and they look pretty dodgy.

However the price for this usb stick is cheaper by $1 than the $17 one posted before.
The team usb stick looks nicer than the verbatim one, though not sure how good is the performance and quality.

But not sure about their warranty, and the way they make these clones is pretty dodgy and am now hesitant to make any purchase..

        • its not that bad ive got everything I've ordered from them. For some drop ship items the postage can take a while.. :)
Havent had to deal with any warranty claims.

        • I have no doubt there are many happy Megabuy customers out there, but rarely do happy customers end up on a forum to tell you about their good experience. Unfortunately for Megabuy, it's all the bad experiences which seem to float to the top for everyone to read about.

Everyone gets bad reviews, but Megabuy seem to get a rather high amount of them. The owner reckons that it's around or less than 1% but going by the sheer amount of complaints that have been posted about, it simply can't be as little as one percent unless every single customer who has had a poor experience has posted about it, and that's just not at all likely.

In the most active thread on Whirlpool, you'd find a couple of people who say - like you - they have never had a problem with Megabuy, that is until their most recent order where it all went pear shaped for them.

Maybe if ever you need to return something or claim warranty, you'll find out, who knows.

Check out this poor guys ordeal regarding an SSD drive -

it is impossible to keep everyone happy

This is something they keep regurgitating, and they're right. But it's even more of a problem if you don't even try.

    • Cheapest prices for both items is still a good buy.

    • at least we know the owner of all these firms and an ACCC complain should sort him out….

    • Having bneen burnt by Team micro SD card would not touch there products again. There response to a card not meeting spec was very dodgy. Fortunately the seller refunded. Team products never again.

      Hi everyone,

The Team Usb drives are excellent quality, fast read and write speeds and a LIFETIME warranty.

please check previous posts to see that everyone was happy with a great product and speedy delivery.

the Samsung drives are also quite popular.

our company as a whole has processed well over 150,000 orders since we started and on a whole we provide very good service - it is impossible to keep everyone happy - but if you do have a problem - email/call us and we will sort it out.

the choice is yours - but if a company can process over 150,000 orders - they must be doing something right.

      • Does that LIFETIME warranty include the data you lose when it fails?
        No, didn't think so.

Finally, a real & local SSD deal.

$117.95 Delivered, instead of ~$127 pickup anywhere else.

I-tech advertise a cheaper price, but it's false.

Still feels like yesterday, when we HAD to buy overseas or get our pants pulled-down locally.

  • Any deals for the 512GB version of the ssd?

    • -1

Seriously? 60GB is good, 120GB is PLENTY. And those recommendations haven't changed since SSDs came-out. Chasing large drives, because of the specs, still doesn't need even 256GB.

Once you've got Win7 & ALL your programs on the SSD, there's little point putting much-more on there. It's a case of finding a reason to use it. Don't even get me started on RAIDing them. NOTHING but e-peen.

Gotta keep it real, ya know.

Seriously? 120GB is nothing when doing video, photo editing + running multiple VMs. You can enjoy your 60 geebees with Win7.

        • That's why you use a HDD for extra storage.

        • +1

          Whoosh!

You have obviously never done video/photo EDITING or running virtual machines (each being a dev environment). There's a difference between downloading and watching some videos (HDD for extra STORAGE is fine) and editing 4:4:4 MPEG-2, stitching pano or running VMs to try out distributed databases/mapreduce. You probably don't actually reach the IOPS of the SSD drives in anything but some benchmarking software but I can assure you some of us are I/O bound.

      • My 160gb ssd laptop drive (x220) can't handle the photos the D800 is spitting out. I need a bigger hard drive. There aren't any ultra light laptops that can take a 2nd hard disk. Sure desktops can use a 60gb boot drive, but that's not for everyone.
