Your poll options are a bit odd.

They imply that if your car is suffering from issues that you are afraid to drive it.

Ngl i've owned 2 Kia's and they've had zero issues.
    One's at 290,000k's.
    Would buy one again.

Practially every car manufactuer has a class action suit of some kind

      • +2

Given they settled it for 2 billion in US , this has some legs to stand.

Not your everyday ambulance chaser class action.

        • +4

The lawyers end up taking a very large portion of it lets not forget

          • @Drakesy: how many millions are we talking?

          • +2

@Drakesy: QLD floods 2011 lawyers and litigation funder took almost 90% of winnings

        • +3

Every class action is an ambulance chasing exercise.

so what's your goal of this post? I don't think your psa has anything to do with the poll or least make it sense.

The first video lacked ANY credibility of actual substance.
US made engines were known to have qc issues, they could actually be traced.
The ABS controller, once water has seeped in was also an issue in the US.

John Cadogan has praised them larger kickbacks he gotten over time from the Koreans.

To ALL neggers out there who are probably on an affiliate program hey it is fun to see flames. Just choose good insurance and yes smoke alarms are mandatory so check your batteries just in case your bedroom is near your garage.

My Kia has a belt knife and glass hammer and my phone has ample video storage for a good 4k video…..

    • who are probably on an affiliate program

      I negged you.
I'm not on any affiliate program, but if you believe theres one out there paying to downvote crazy posts on forums, well…consider this my application and interview with practical component submitted.

(Also own a Kia, so not sure if they makes me exempt from applying though :/ )

      • Just to confirm on how happy I am with my Kia here are the facts:
Bought second hand from one of the largest Kia dealers.
Brought in for service as per schedule. Radio got swapped 3 times for a more broken one, unable to fix. They admit that they lied at me and the 7 year warranty turned into 5 and the radio into 2 years.
Car came back from service with a dent in body. 3 times they fitted a wrong reminder sticker. Oil was not changed but my good wiper stolen and an old one fitted.
To top it off they also ran a screw into one tyre. They screamed at me for being an unsafe driver having 35psi and had to lower it down to 32 psi where it now takes 1.5l extra fuel per 100km.
Then I found out they even delivered the wrong car! Invoice and VIN number differ.
Lovely Kia, there is ONLY Gerry H to beat you…….

None of those links tell anything about exactly what is wrong with those engines. This sounds like a money grab.

  • +3

This should be posted as a deal. Buy a second hand Hyundai/Kia and receive bonus cashback in the form of compensation.

    • Or buy a Hyundai/Kia, get a free fire pit?

  • +1

It seems this only affects petrol engine models, not diesel?

My Cerato has had ongoing intermittent issues that don't throw an error code, maybe this will actually get some answers

These problems with those cars started over 10 years ago.
Other countries goverments and lawyers were on top of this years ago.

Class actions are a necessary evil. The bad corps need a kick in the ass but the lawyers take ~all the money.

The QLD floods 2011 class action only STARTED to get paid out last year and remaining payments this year. The lawyers (inc litigation funder) took almost 90% of winnings with the remaining amount going to the plaintiffs, who will receive a total payment of close to 10% of their claimed loss.
