  • Perfect timing, I was about to head out to Aldi to buy more beans.

    • Great to hear we got it right for you! - Thanks so much.

      Cheers
      Dan

    • aldi beans are $8.5 a kg

your ozbargain card has been revoked

      • Yeah, but apples and oranges. Freshly ground coffee is worth an extra bit of coin.

  • What would you recommend for a Latte/Capp drinker? I like a nice coffee flavour but not too harsh if that makes sense.

    • +3

Hey there Snowy83 - thanks for asking.
A great place to start in our range is the Enterprise Blend. It's bold enough to cut through the milk but not too harsh as you say.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Done, when do they get shipped?

        • +2

Thaks Snowy - that should be out the door first thing Monday morning!

    • +6

Although promoted often it’s not RRP, is it… because otherwise you wouldn’t need the code…. Doesn’t take much for this community to turn does it….

    • +2

I get what you mean but the beans are still cheap, good quality and a low threshold for free express shipping. Not worthy of a neg. Next time I need beans, I'll hit these guys up.

    • Hey look it's Hair Police's alt account.

  • Hi Dan,

Been looking forward to this deal :)
I need a recommendation for my Cleaver dripper (Immersion / Pour-over style brew) - I drink it black. In the past I used Enterprise which was pretty good, what else may suit this style of brewing?

    Thanks!

Hey there Cludo - thanks for your feedback and question.
I would try the Stargazer and your next coffee adventure!

Please let us know how that goes compared to Enterprise.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Cheers! placed an order. Looking forward to trying Stargazer

        • +1

          Fantastic - thanks Cludo!

  • hey Dan.

Found this for you to fix.

    Free Express Shipping

Enjoy super fast shipping for FREE for every order over $20. Same day shipping for all orders before 3pm AEST except weekends and publiuc holidays.

    • Thanks Dasher!!! - champion!

  • Hi Dan,

I've tried the Enterprise blend and the Sumatra. I might try some others.

What else would you recommend for a black coffee drinker? I usually add ~80ml of hot water to a 40-45g shot. Do you have a blend with some Ethiopian fruitiness?

And for my wife, a flat white/capp drinker, what's the next one to try instead of Enterprise?

    • +1

Hey there jimwyze - thanks for your feedback and question.
I would recommend you try the Pegasus Blend for the black and then Stargazer for the flat white.

Super keen to hear your feedback on those if you go that way.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Hey Dan is this the right way around on your site the Pegasus looks to be a cap and the stargazer has a short black photo??

        • +1

Hey honkyb - thanks for your question.
My recommendations above were more based on the poster specific experience with our other blends and looking for specific flavours in comparison to the other blends.
Essentially you can use any coffee blend for any coffee type and it could work for you. It really depends on what you are looking for.

          I hope that helps.

          Cheers
          Dan

      • Cheers, ordered a kg of each :)

My favourite ozb coffee. Helped me out when I didn’t have a decaf discount in between specials. Great customer service and my wife and I love how fresh the coffee is

    • Thaks so so much for the feedback madseason - thrilled we can help and you are happy :)

  • bought one.

    • Thank you OzHan - we really appreciate it.

  • What would you recommend for smooth cold brew? I like chocolatey/nutty taste and hate fruity/sour/floral taste.

    • Hey voldemort - I would go the Stargazer Blend for sure.
Roasted a little darker than average and great flavours for you.

      I hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

      • Thanks Dan, bought my first order from you, let’s see how it goes. Any tips for making cold brew at home? It’s my firs time too :P

        • Hey voldemort - I would start by following the guide that you get with your kit. Then from there see how it tastes and see what you think.
Let us know how the Stargazer goes for you and if you want any changes after that.

Have fun with the first brew :)

          Cheers
          Dan

    • I run the enterprise for cold brew, its the best ive found. Using a hario to make the coldbrew.

  • Dan, what do you recommend for a stove top Moka pot? Currently have the stargazer and Timor blends. They’re pretty good.

    • Hey there GeneralSkunk - Thanks for your feedback and question.
I would try the Enterprise or the darker Thunderchild if you wanted to mix it up a little.

Keen to hear your thoughts on how those compare for you.

      Thanks again
      Dan

  • +1 for the amazing customer service and the engagement on ozb. Yet to try the coffee but if it's anything like the customer service then the coffee will be amazing!!!

    • Thanks so much MrBillions :)

  • Hey sorry I ordered the wrong blend, oops, can I PM you please? Thanks!

    • Hey melty - did we sort it?

Hey Dan. Do you offer delayed shipping?

    • Hey sandun9 - sorry we don't.
Thanks for asking though and sorry we couldn't help with that one.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Unsolicited opinion in case it helps someone

I'm on the Columbia blend at the moment. Have tried Saratoga and enterprise in the past but personal preference is Columbia >enterprise >sumatra. Also like the Columbia from lime blue so must be something in the beans from that area.

I get cold brew grind and whole beans for the machine. The flavours seem quite different from both extraction methods but both enjoyable.

    • Thanks so much for sharing Chaffingbuttocks - its very helpful for people to get straight up feedback.

  • Trying enterprise and Sumatra. Though I also hear that the ALDI stuff is also good.

Being new to a super automatic machine which I've dialed in, trying to find something that gives me a nice smooth black like my per percolator.

Can anyone comment on this type of coffee vs Aldi?
I got delonghi beans with the machine which were pretty bad, then I bought a $40 batch from a local roaster, which is sooo bitter i have to add more water.

    Thx

    • +1

Aldi beans (Lazio) are roasted by the same people that do veneziano. They were my favourite roaster for some time. I would say if their house blend was 100% then the ALDI beans were around 80%, but at less than half the price. I had a particularly bad batch of beans though which was like $65 I think which tasted very burnt so I let them know (after buying from them for over a year so I was pretty sure it wasn't my end) and they fobbed me off so I never went back. My experience with super automatic is they seem quite forgiving with beans in general. Always worth trying different blends etc to find what you like though

  • Hey Dan, got the Sumatra from you guys from your last deal.

I got a barrista express at home and currently have it on grind size 6, burr setting 4 (if memory serves me correctly). The pressure usually sits around the max expresso range on the pressure gauge when I run my coffee but the overall extraction (from when I press the button) is only around 20 seconds for 40g of coffee from 18g of coffee beans.

Anything else I can do to increase the brew time? The beans are only roughly 1-2 weeks old.

Also, any other blends that would be good for latte?

    Cheers :)

    • Hey there simon-1 and thanks for reaching out.
That sounds a little odd if the pressure is at the high end.
Any chance you can take a video of your process and shoot to me on email [email protected] ?

Also, re another blend good for lattes I would recommend trying the Enterprise Blend.

      Cheers
      Dan
