    • Have you been to Makoto, Sushi Tei, Sushi Hotaru or Sushi Rio in the CBD? :P

  • Might want to read up on the reviews before purchasing: http://www.eatability.com.au/au/sydney/gari-sushi-bar/

  • This place isn't that great, I've been there before and the reviews are true.

I'm not going to neg this, but I've been there (and all the ones mystique1 mentioned above). This one was probably the most lacking in terms of taste. I'm going to guess more than a few locals are going to agree with me that Sushi Hotaru, with it's $3 per plate pricing is currently the best value to quality.

Sushi Hotaru is awesome! Usually spend $30 for 2 people and we're full anyway, so this is not really a deal for me.

      • Actually maybe we shouldn't say this on Ozbargain. The line there on some nights grows to Mamak or Chat Thai proportions. I don't want to wait an extra 1/2 hour for my cheap Sushi ;)

Misleading post. OP Please change the title. Should put Sushi Bar or the name of Sushi place, and not 'Sushi Train'.

  • What does this mean: "$5 surcharge per uneaten plate applies" ?

    • i guess if you cant be bothered to eat that last portion, pay $5/plate.

      • Indeed. It's so you don't pull in 50 dishes, eat 5 and leave the rest. Reasonable IMO.

        • I wonder why you got negged discombobul? All all-you-can-eat restaurants I can think of have a pay for leftovers rule (although like Serapis says, I've never seen it applied).

      • what if you don't like the dish because it tastes crap, why should you have to pay extra?

        • If it tastes crap and it's not all you can eat do you pay for it or demand not to? How would this be different?

        • -1

Walk out before they ask, or refuse to pay the extra, then promptly walk out… it's not like they can hold you in the restaurant against your will

No restaurant I've been to has ever applied this rule anyway.

Agree with above. This is not sushi train - which is a not too bad chain across australia

  • +2

Name is misleading. For once I thought this was Sushi Train!

  • not bad price…
    but group on??no thank you!!
