  • Better than nothing especially if one needed to book the flights. And the nice thing is work booked flights are covered as well as the booking platform is irrelevant

  • Apparently this same offer was available last year around September, but it seems to be targeted. I've been a Points Club Plus member for a few months now but haven't received any email the last time and again now. Too bad.

considering you have to earn 350k points in a year on the ground to attain points club plus i just want more classic rewards flights to spend my points on not more points from flights.

    • How does anyone realistically get 350k in a year? I can only imagine if they fly for work and get a new credit card annually

      • +1

flying for work doesn't help, you need to earn them on the ground.

health insurance churn, a couple of credit card churns.

edit: apparently 20k of points earned from flying counts towards earning points club so flying for work would help a little

        • it's more like 4 credit card churns

Last year I got 100k bonus from Citi and 160k bonus from ANZ, the remaining 90k are not that hard to get by using the cards and flying, mainly considering that ANZ lets you pay rent via BPAY with no extra fees.

        • +1

wait, how can you use ANZ cards to pay rent via BPAY? Can I do this to pay my mortgage on my ANZ card?

          • @ttfb: Mortgage is direct debit isn't it?

          • +2

@ttfb: Some BPAY billers (such as rental agencies) allow you use a credit card account to pay them. Some financial institutions don’t count this type of payment as a cash advance when using their credit card accounts via BPAY.

        • If you have an applicable Citibank QF points earning card … their payall feature is great.

Fee free for now. My cards earns 0.5 QF point / 1$ when I pay my rent etc where a credit card wouldn't normally be used.

The cash flow benefit is an extra bonus.

      • 3 cards for me and a couple of Qantas plans. Definitely doable.

      • it's not with flying because only 20k flying counts toward it
Woolies + credit card churning + shopping mall made the job for me
Though this year not sure I will manage to keep it.
The main benefit for me about PC+ is Qantas Club, free lounge is great

    • Points club is 150k QF points entry point that kicks in with the benefits for this. Plus the added benefit of status credits on award flights which is very nice.

Stupid promo considering points club plus members are flush with points and want to book flights with points instead of cash.

Give us some double status credits.

    • Yea and the recent points sale was an absolute fail considering Qantas website crashed the whole day - and other alliance/overseas people could access the same seats.

They shamelessly went ahead with points expiration during covid lockdown

    • Covid lockdown was the best time to accumulate points. My wife and I accumulated almost two million points whilst we weren’t able to fly, or leave 5kms from home.

It’s also almost impossible to not earn qantas points in 18months. Credit cards, everyday rewards, well-being app, etc
There’s plenty of ways to earn points.

      • Sounds like we shared the same journey

      • 2 mil points with no way (or very little) to use them is the Qantas way!

I've managed to book four business class and two prem eco ticket to Japan in June.
One Business class to Hong Kong.
Five business class tickets from Hong Kong to Melb and two prem eco Hong Kong to Melbourne.

Still checking daily so i can upgrade those prem eco tickets.

          Total was 898,000 points

I see it as a nicer kicker for flights I was already needing to book especially for work. I tend to hold of and 'batch book' when a promo comes up. Free money for nothing in the same way I'll scan my flybuys / Woolies card when I shop and make sure I tick all the bonus / booster boxes on the app for stuff I'm already going to buy.

  • Priority phone service! Ha!

  • I can't believe i missed this again. I'm a points club member yet never seem to recieve notifications of these offers.
