S23 Ultra 256GB $1919 (& $750 off w/ Telstra 1-Yr $69/M, $300 off Trade-in Bonus), Bonus $250 Gift Card Post Purchase @ JB Hi-Fi

380

I managed to get a S23 Ultra (256gb) for about $399 + $250 Gift Card

$1919 (JB Hi-Fi price) — now $1949, so the offer is expired (Mod)
- $750 (for joining Telstra $69/M 1-year plan)
- $300 (Device trade-in bonus)
- Trade-in device value ($500 for my S22)

Balance: $399

Get $250 gift card after purchase. $149 net if you want to count the gift card.

I just combined all the ongoing deals with JB:
- $750 off any S23 Ultra when signing up with Telstra for $69/Month for 12 months (must be new customer or new number)
- Additional $300 when you trade in a device towards an S23 Ultra
- $250 Gift Card AFTER you purchase an S23 Ultra

Different models will have different values.
Not sure how long this lasts as well and you might get unlucky with you store rep.

probably more like you paid $649 (counting the value of your trade in before bonus credit).
    decent value still

    • I was already on $54 plus work pays a percent of it.

So at least in my eyes, it was a pretty crazy deal compared to what I've seen here so far

  • +1

Might want to add what phone you traded in OP or if there's a table of values. Would help your post a lot

  • I don't understand how you got $300 & $500 for trade in?

    • +3

You get 300 no matter what plus thr value of your phone.

      Mine was 500

      • can it be an iphone?

      • -2

You don't get the $300 no matter what. In order to get the $300 you need to trade in a device. Atleast that's what I understood from the JB hifi website.

  • +22

Don't forget you're also paying $828 for a phone plan for a year. Some of us on Boost only pay ~$200 for the year (for admittedly much less data)

    • +12

Tell that to those doing $99/Month for 24 months just for a $1000 gift card lol.

      • +2

People who do this get reimbursed by the company.

    • +1

      Very good point.

I pay $25 a month with Woolies right now and also save an average of 6 or 7 dollars a month with my 10% off on a 70 dollar grocery run.

      • +2

If you shop at Woolworths and don't need a lot of data, their $150/100gb plan is awesome value. I basically get my phone for free and with the roll over each year have more data than I can use up.

        • +1

Or alternatively, the $65/180 day plan

          • @Techie4066: $130 for 30gb or $150/100gb wonder how many people choose such an alternative

            • +1

              @shxhshzhz: My mother lol
She doesn't need the data, and when she might she'll have the rollover banked up

          • @Techie4066: 180 vs 360 days

    • I picked up my $200 boost sim for ~$90 with the shopback westpac deals and discounted eBay giftcards over the Christmas deals šŸ‘Œ

    $300 bonus trade ends today

What phones do they take a trade in on?

What's the cheapest I can attain a regular plus, 256?

  • Does anyone know if JB HiFi trade in additional credit is applicable for devices with $0 trade in value? E.g. can you get $0 (give them the broken phone) and get $300 credit discount on purchase of new phone? I know for Samsung trade in you can't, not sure about JB.

    • Website says please go to mobile muster

    • You dont even need to give the phone, you just need the IMEI number.

They will eventually charge your credit card on what the trade in value was at the time.

      • Sap you get to keep the phone?

        • Earn an extra $200 profit to sell it on Gumtree or ebay.

  • Can you also get the $10 p.m discount from Telstra ?

    • Gonna try that later

      • Some lucky ones got $20.

        • +1

Because of this comment i tried for $20 and got it.

          @BaarOzGain

  • NGL after the s22+ that i bought and its rapidly degrading battery will be switching back to apple.

Ripper of a deal (even if the S23 Ultra is $500 overpriced)

    • Was thinking about switching from apple tomorrow morning as I am due for a new phone anyway, but your comment made me think twice.
May be best to wait for iPhone 15 pro,
Still a good deal if achievable

      • The only thing stopping me is that my s22+ is all round a decent phone (apart from the battery) and i do like the level of customisation that android offers. A 14 pro max would be great right about now.

        • +1

Samsung screwed up the battery with the S22 series (it's painful) but the battery is finally comparable with the Pro Max this year. I would upgrade but I don't think it's worth the $1049 outright without any plans

          • +1

@OzGardian: I have charging capped at 85% and still get through a typical day on my S22 -not a day of heavy browsing, playing games or watching movies, though. Smaller iPhone performed marginally better but not life-changing so. Would still choose the Sammy software experience every day of the week.

    • Only reason to go for apple are those cheap deals otherwise Apple can never beat Android let alone samsung

      • I think it is now more a matter of ecosystem and what you are more comfortable with. Android doing better in terms of cross platform apps and compatibility with google apps on every platform. Some pros and cons for Samsung and Apple on case by case basis. Iā€™m not an Apple or Android or Samsung fanboy and do have a low end android phone as well but have had Apple for the most part. Security wise I prefer Apple.

    • S23U battery is pheno.inal, easy 2 days use.

  • Where are you seeing the $750 off if joining Telstra?
Can't see anywhere on their website or catalogue?

    • Only knew about it when i went in store, they said it was all jb hifis.

I think they are matching what the good guys were doing a few weeks/days ago

      • Thanks,

Good guys appear to be for 24 months plans though.
Are you sure it was only 12 months?

        • I did this deal two days ago so yes.

      • Is the 750$ voucher linked to S23 Ultra? or just the $69 plan? I do not need an Ultra and looking to buy S23+

    • It's probably an in-store only offer - may or may not be available at all stores though as I'm pretty sure similar offers have been run, but not everywhere was offering at the time

  • +1

I believe this deal may be voided now considering the $300 credit expires today?

    • Seems like you can trade in online tonight and take the credit in store to sign a Telstra contract

  • +1

I was excited until I realised you had to stick around for the 12 months on $69pm…figured you could cancel on day 1 and just get the phone :(

  • If the Poco F5/Pro is bad value, I'll wait 6 months until the S23 ultra is 1200.

  • Thanks OP. How much data is on that plan?

  • +2

Still prefer the design of the S21 Ultra over the S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra.

    • I have the s21u. What's wrong with the later models?

      • +2

I have the S21 Ultra and my friend has the S22 Ultra.

The S22 feels a lot bigger due the bigger and squarer design (to fit the S PEN).

A lot more uncomfortable to hold then the S21U IMO.

      • Nothing's 'wrong' with them, just a physical design preferance. The shape, feel and look of the device, primary around the back cameras.

    • Nah note10+ is the best one, planning to keep it amd put it on a shelf, no company has ever come close to it. Never seen a phone so thin yet so powerful and with a bloody s pen built in.

    • If you use s pen often then s21 ultra design is no good, you need a case which can hold a pen.

  • +3

Hmm, the $69/month kills the deal imo. I was excited at first, thinking I could surprise my wife with a new phone

However, assuming that I trade in a trash phone that only gets the bonus value and I'm on the Aldi $25 plan (not sure why anyone would pay more - got 700gb rolled over data), then the actual price is $1427 + I receive a $250 gift card.

Which sadly doesn't sound nearly as good as your math where you end up paying $149 :(

    • Gotta convince myself somehow

    • Yeah I'm also on a very very tight phone plan. Unless your workplace offers, to pay, exceeding 30 seems crazy to me

  • +4

Most people ignored this deal. The 512GB Ultra was $1427 outright, no plan left to pay and you could sell your old phone privately for more than trade-in valuations.

    • Some of us don't like to pre-order unreleased products

      • +3

It had been released, believe it or not. You'll find many people under that post saying they picked up their phone early. And by the last week, GSMArena had done their detailed testing for the series which is what I waited for.

  • Can't see the deal for $750 off any S23 Ultra when signing up with Telstra for $69/Month….

    Am I doing something wrong?

    • Need to go in store

  • Can you do price match before doing all those

  • All jb stores are closed now and the $300 bonus credit expires tonight.
Removing my vote as this is unobtainable.

    • Not in WA?

      • You said in a comment above that you got this 2 days ago, why did you wait until the night of expiry to post?

        • -6

          I was busy? lol what

I didnt realize it ended today until someone pointed out it anyway

  • Would of done this today :-(

  • šŸ˜” was gonna get this just so i can tell ozbargainers that i got it for $400 and get negged by it

  • Is there a specific list of devices that can be traded in, can a cracked screen Galaxy A52s get +$300?

  • Only 8 gigabyte ram for 256gb model? is it enough?

  • So if I wasn't with Telstra right now, I still have 1 month left on my contract.

    I could have $800 (JBHiFi value of S22 Ultra) + $750 + $300 + $250? That's $2100

So, I get a free S23 Ultra basically?

  • Can you apply the trade in bonus and the sign up bonus together? I tried last for S22 and they refused.
