$237 was the good price tbh.

    • Agree. But I missed the deal last time. $385 tbh is a price more expensive than normal price..

    • +3

Yup, still in the box sealed from that deal.

      I'm so bad lol

Agreed, just checking camelx3 you can see it's actually been cheaper than this price multiple times in the last 3 months.

Lowest of $359.97 on Mar 1 and frequently between $367.50 and $376.70. In fact these headphones have spent more time below this price in the past 3 months than above.

You may want to try these on at the shops first. I personally didn't find these as comfortable as the QC 35/45.

    • Agreed. I bought this from the last sale but have been regretting it since.

    • Phones are bigger then QC 45. Better for bigger ears

    • I think the clamping force is a bit higher than QC35, but that gives better feel when using in more active scenarios (walking, jogging etc)

      • and the band that sits on top of your head is hard plastic in the 700 while the QC15/25/35 and I think 45 all have a softly padded headband - not only that but the shape of the 700 hard plastic headband is sharply curved so there would be like a pointy bit pressing down on your head which could actually hurt after a while - plus the clamping force can also feel too much pressing on your ears

this review says the 700 was comfortable for 2-3 hours (I'd guess max) whereas I recently wore my QC35ii comfortably for 10 hours on an overseas flight - https://www.tomsguide.com/face-off/bose-700-vs-qc-35-II

that would be one factor why they're discounting the 700s cos when people try them on, they don't want to buy them

that said, cheap enough like $237 and they become attractive becos something is supposedly a bit better - not sure since I stopped looking at these - we have 3 sets of Bose - QC15 for many years (but wired only and AAA batteries), QC35 for years and more recently QC35ii better for wireless BlueTooth and rechargeable.

I'm just about to replace a torn earcup surround padding oval on the newest (most used) ones with some cheapo $8 for 4 pairs of them from eBay I replaced the older QC35s with - which I've found just as comfortable as the $40 Bose replacements, and last longer.

The only problem I have with my QC35ii is it seems to amplify a rushing noise in strong winds when I have to turn my head to change the angle of wind to the microphone/s to reduce or stop that noise in my ears

$275 at Melbourne Airport duty free if your travelling soon ..

    • Would it be the same at Sydney?

      • It wasn’t 2-3 weeks ago when I travelled through.

    • +4

      Which store?

    • Does the Melbourne Airport seperate international and domestic flight gates?

  • +2

Great for travelling and for calls on the go.

If you don’t make calls on the go, there are other options, but if you do these are the absolute best.

    • Sure? Watched a comparison YouTube and Sony xm5 seems a lot better in calls.

      • there's plenty of videos on YT comparing different bluetooth headphones and XM5 call quality is the best by far, Bose 700 doesn't even come close.

      • The Bose are far superior when it comes to microphone performance and separating your voice from the background noise. The XM5s tend to do good but then cancel out your voice along with the background noise fairly often.

        EDIT - here's a few references:
        Bose 700 review:
"The Bose 700 Headphones have a great noise handling performance. The mic can separate your voice from background noises, even if you're calling from a noisy environment like a train station. Even with loud sounds, your voice isn't cut out or lost in the noise, unlike that of the Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless."
        https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/bose/700-headphone…

        Sony XM5 review:
"It doesn't sound as good as the Bose 700 Headphones Wireless, though."
"If you're calling from a busy street, speech sits above the noise, so your voice is easy to understand. However, unlike the Bose 700 headphones Wireless, if there's a very loud sound, your voice can be cut alongside the noise, making it difficult to hear you clearly."
        https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sony/wh-1000xm5-wi…

        • Any YT that actually shows it's the case? It's pretty simple. You listen to same thing said in the same noisey environment. Like this https://youtu.be/sbS9g7tTohs

          • @alx88: That isn't a noisy environment, it's a simulated noisy environment played through speakers in a room. Headphones and earphones typically do much better in that sort of setting because they have directionality to their microphones and these scenarios are easier to handle.

Real world testing often proves another story, and Rtings are usually bang on the money when it comes to this stuff.

The XM5 don't separate background noise to voice on anywhere near the same level as the Bose 700. Better in a lot of other ways, just not when it comes to phone calls in noisy environments.

            • @Galvatron: and SONY earcups were too shallow for my big ears and hurt my ears after any length of time

Bose earcups are deep and angled to suit larger ears.

You really don't want the pain I felt from my ears rubbing on the shallow inside of a cheapo pair of Aldi supposedly NC headphones on a 14 hour overseas flight.

              • @Hangryuman: Comfort is a very personal thing, and a lot of people find the Bose 700 clamps too tightly and is uncomfortable for them.

I have a larger head but I've worn them on 15 hour flights without issues. Others get cabin fever, pain etc. It's all very personal.

  • Noob question, seems the Bose 700 is not foldable like QC45?

    • Yes. Not foldable.

    • +11

      You can but only once

  • +2

I have these for work calls.

Where these stand out is when you have background noise on your end (wife hoovering, dog barking) - the other person cannot hear it.

    Aidan.

  • +4

It's in stock at Amazon for $359 now

  • Has Bose resolve the static sound on the right ear? Apparently it is a known issue, cannot be fixed, same as QC45 as well.
