New iPad Sim Plan

Looking at buying the new ipad with 3G or (+celluar whatever you want to cll it).
I don't really need a big plan as i use my home internet for every thing 200gb+ p.m.
i just want it to use occasionally. maybe 4-5 times per month. Also 3-4 times per year when i go for long weekends away.
So i want a cheap plan that is ok.

Are there any cheaper plans out there that i won't be billed too much for?
It would be really great if you could prepay for say 5gb and that would last you as long as it takes you to use.
I use this type of thing for our emergency mobile phone that we have, $20 per year that rolls over when you recharge it.

    You could go Telstra Prepaid and get the $30 micro SIM then the $180 12 months access provided you don't go over the data limits. Cheaper if you are willing to wait for a Telstra Prepaid credit discount deal that sometimes pop up at Woolies.

    Just buy a $9.95 /month amaysim sim… works on the optus network.. works fine on my acer iconia a501… gives you i think 1.5 gb? you can buy reloads just abotu anywhere, petrol stations etc. Even the iphone and android have an app to recharge your account with the recharge voucher, and then the monthly $9.95 package (provided account is recharged/has money in it prior to the next months renewal date) will automatically renew like a normal plan.

    $9.95.. super cheap!

    If you want a new iPhone, virgin had a plan for $49/month with 2.25gb month, not sure if still active. Just use the sim in the iPad, i did..
