Isnt the 5700G better than the 5700X as it has onboard graphics?

Why is the 'upgrade' to 5700x an extra $100?

    • +10

The 5700X performs better than the 5700G but lacks integrated graphics

    • +3

The 5700G has some differences. Notably the iGPU, but at the expense of some cache. This is why the 5700x performs better as a CPU

      • +2

All true, probably not especially noticeable with GPUs like a 1650 though right?

        • +2

Likely not for gaming, so you can save your cash if you don't have an upgrade planned. Pretty much anything productivity will take a larger hit

  • +4

$129 for any video card in these crazy days is a good price.

    • +1

Its unusual the card retails for 269$ yet the price in the build only drops 130$ 🥱 minus the card - you can always resell the card I guess. No point having an iGPU CPU in a system unless you are planning an upgrade later

      • +1

That happens with lots of older cards that aren't being produced anymore, the few remaining stock get stuck with an inflated price until a sale (like this one) clears it or some suckers buy into it. 6600 is $350 with no sales and that's more than double the speed of 1650. It can be even worse if this 1650 is the gddr5 version which is even slower.

      • I'd be happy to get that card for $130, only because its low profile for my kid's rig but 270! they be dreaming

  • Not bad. There was that guy looking to spend around $700 on a prebuilt gaming PC.
This would be the best you can do without looking at secondhand machines

    • +18

For a gaming PC, he would be better off reducing the CPU down from a 5700G to around a 5600, and spending more on the GPU. The GTX 1650 is a very weak GPU.

      • +6

That's fair. A 5600 + RX 6600 would be a great budget option. I don't think anyone is selling that combo, at least at this price point.
Maybe BPC, TechFast or Enigma PC could make that happen?

    • +2

      me lol

      • This is not as good value as some of the cheaper 3060 builds from a couple weeks back

  • I bought a new case recently so wouldn't need the case this deal comes with. Is there an option to exclude the case but buy all the parts?

  • +13

Any chance of bringing back this deal or something similar (with the upgrades)? Still annoyed I missed out.

    • +1 for this! Pleeasssee!!!!!!!!!!

  • What type of ram is the 32gb RGB option?

  • Would this deal (excluding the GPU) be a good option for an unraid server after adding 2 HDDs?

    • Even the GPU is good for Plex transcoding. Unless you are going to be using more strenuous tasks, eg virtualisation or game server, it is more than ample. Make sure you run a cache drive. If heavily downloading a 2nd cache is highly advisable.

      • Nah this gpu uses the older nvenc encoder, only 1650 super and up used the newer one in the turing series (weird decision from nvidia). If you just need something for plex you can get an 8th gen refurb for half the price and power draw.

  • hi @BPC Technology, any good upcoming graphics card deals such as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718381. I had a look at the website and it seems most of the graphics card have been sold out, so wondering if we can expect any good deals on them anytime soon or no. Thanks! You guys are doing an absolute amazing job on the builds and PC Components!!!

Fair warning, you could be waiting beyond 15 business days. Ordered my system on 23 of feb, called yesterday for an update on the order and they couldn't even give an estimate completion date.

    • +1

Me too, ordered Feb 22 (16 business days so far). No estimate was given. So it's looking like early April at this point, which is insane!

      • +1

I ordered 22nd Feb and got my tracking info yesterday. Did not pay for priority handling either. Very underwhelming

        • I ordered 23rd also, just got a message saying that they have reserved the parts. Cool?

    • For your reference, I ordered on 13th Feb, part reserved on 20th Feb, shipped on 3rd Mar and received on 11th Mar.

    • +1

Same here, ordered on 23 Feb, shot an email to query last week and had been told it would be ready by Friday or Next Tuesday. Then I had tried to call at Tuesday, another guy told me it should be 'Next Friday or Tuesday the week after'. And at that moment, my PC was not in the build list yet.
I would suggest Bpc to focus more on current deals , other than taking more orders which you could not achieve on time.

    • I also ordered 22nd Feb, and received an email on 10 March saying parts were reserved.

      Nothing since.

  • +2

Weak gpu. Bring back $600 2060 or 3060

  • Gtx 1650's in this era belong in the trash

    • -1

For balls to the wall modern gaming with maxed settings? Yeah it's crap, though things can have staying power for the right price and use case. It'll still absolutely hold its own for modern Indie and semi-retro games at 1080p, and for some that's still an acceptable use case. Heck look how many people still cling to the PS4 and the GPU in that is far weaker than the 1650. I think the point where a GPU like this becomes completely redundant is when the equivalent iGPU SOC becomes mainstream and affordable. Which we're getting close but not quite there yet.

  • +12

    A 5700g with a 1650???

That's the kind of gpu you'd put into a 7-8th gen refurbed optiplex, not a somewhat current and overkill cpu lol.

    Quick edit:

Even this deal from you guys was far better

    Or this one

Yes both use the 8gb slower model of 3060 but that's still 50% faster than this gpu here and it can do raytracing+dlss. 1650 also doesn't have the newer nvenc enconder other turing cards had at the time. Avoid this build, you're going to be heavily gpu bottlenecked in pretty much all scenarios.

    • I would like to think this deal as $899 with almost a must GPU upgrade 3060 8gb rather than $699.

  • +1

    Hardly a gaming PC with a 1650.

  • +14

    Hi BPC,
Appreciate all your deals but how about focus on fulfilling existing customer orders instead of trying to add more orders to the backlog… 2 weeks and still no update on the 3080 deal….
    Sincerely all of ozb.

    • +1

I would think the waiting time is 4 weeks now according to my experience and others in the comments here.

      • My order was confirmed on 22nd and it shipped today. So it's taking approximately 3 to 4 weeks for them to build.

        • My order was a day after yours. Parts were reserved a week ago, and no update since. So it may be slightly longer… it's luck of the draw.

  • +3

Maybe we need a rule, no new posting deals until the backlog is cleared

  • great deal 4 non gaming oldies whom can discard the gpu

  • +1

Yeah no lol with $599 deals with 3060s from a few weeks ago, these are dogshite unfortunately.

  • +2

Rep any chance of this system coming back into stock?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/758888

  • Can you request the upgrade memory option to be 2 16GB, so you have 2 empty slot for future expansion?

  • realistically, what are your delivery times?

    to Sydney

    • I'd allow four to six weeks between order and arrival. I placed my order four weeks ago, parts have been reserved, but it hasn't reached the "Work in Progress" status yet. By the time it's built and shipped, it could easily be another couple of weeks.

  • Hi team

Is this a good build for my son and wife? They play games such as FPS shooters, Diablo 3, Last Epoch and so on?

    Guidance appreciated.

  • Looks like this is sold out. Missed out this sale

  • Has anyone got the PC delivered?

I ordered on 17/03…i got an email on Monday 17/04 saying QC has passed and will be dispatched shortly. Still no sign of delivery and will hit 5 weeks wait this Friday since I ordered…

    • 4 weeks for machine to be assemblied, then either you pickup or wait more for delivery.
