  • No stock anywhere in QLD it seems. Still available online and this price smashes the $218 from logitech shop.

  • Anyone know if it can replace the foxtel remote?

    • +3

Yes it can. All logitech Harmony remotes can.

  • Great Price!

Yes, it can replace your Foxtel remote :)

  • +2

Great price. Have no experience with this model but I love my Harmony remote.

    Also check out the Harmony 600 ($29 - save $29), LOGITECH Harmony 200i Remote ($12.47 save $12.48)

    • +4

Or splash another $6 for the 650 with colour screen at $35. Also recommend the harmony One at $75, bought it for nearly double a few years back.

      • +3

You're right. It's not obvious but it looks like all Harmony Remotes are 50% off.

        • +3

Spot on, Drats, fat iPhone fingers, accidentally negged the deal, have revoked. Someone +1 it for me pls :)

  • is the logitech PS3 adapter compatable with this?

  • Can the Harmony's replace the Tivo remote?

    • +1

      Yes, mine does.

  • Excellent price!!

  • +2

Price match at OW if they have stock.

  • +15

Good price I bought one last year for around $200, but remote is not practical
need 2 hands to operate, the touch screen is not responsive after using the smart phones using this really sucks
I recommend the Harmony one or any other remote.
Need a seprate adapter for PS3

Mine is just sitting gathering dust not practical to use but for the price it’s your call

    • Thanks for the advice. I was tempted to buy this but was concerned about practicality.

    • +1

Agreed! I had a remote similar in design some years back and it was an absolute pain as you can't sit on the couch comfortably with it and operate it one-handed without looking at the screen etc.

Go for best of both worlds and grab a Harmony One - sets up in minutes and gives you hard buttons and touch screen access for something fancy.

    • if you not using it, are you thinking to sell it?
      let me know ok

      thanks

  • can this be used for the WD live media players ? If so im in ! Is there a device compatibility list anywhere?

    • +1

Yes, it is also compatible for WDTV. I'm not sure of a compatability list, but Harmony remotes are compatible with pretty much everything that has a remote… The obvious exception being PS3 which requires an adapter.

      • +1

        appricaite the reply. Thank you!

    OFW Stock Online only.

Can't seem to find any DSE stores that have this in stock.

    • you certainly shouldn't. The OP has posted a valid price and mentioned the shipping for the online purchase. It is available online. Lack of stock in stores is irrelevant.

Edit - I see you removed the suggestion that you might neg the OP. Thanks.

  • Questions about compatibility?

    Try here http://www.logitech.com/harmony_components

    • Plus you can 'train' the Harmony off your original remote, it can map the keys to then control all kinds of things.

  • +1

dont knw i need it or not, but good price, bought one, thanks

  • -1

Scored the last one from Chatswood NSW. None left after me.

  • I love my old 525i. Had it for probably 5 years now and it's still going strong. I think I've only had to replace the batteries maybe 3 or 4 times since I got it.

Just out of interest, do these touch screen models do anything particularly unique over the general remote models? (other than the colour touch screen, of course)

    • The main differences would be the customisable graphics on the touchscreen, and the ability to use RF, meaning you can control devices that are not in LOS.

      • +1

Don't think RF is capable out of the box - you will need a RF adapter for that?

        • The Harmony 900 is the only model in Australia that has RF & IR support

    • From my experience, the touch screen interface is more cumbersome than the buttons on the side of the screen. The touchscreen provides no additional benefit.

I speak from my experience with the Harmony 880, 785, 525, 900 (RF version of the One that has touch screen) and 700.

All of them are still going strong. I've found their compatability with devices to be excellent.

      • +1

I concur with this, my father in law has this, and although he thinks it is the shiz… the touchscreen is soooo annoying to use… go the button models any day of the week.

There is lag when using this model, you press the button and its like its frozen, then it snaps out of what its doing.

        • Make sure you have the latest Firmware & Harmony software being used with your 1100, also check the delay settings in your profile which can also be changed.

Plus there's also our Harmony team that can help troubleshoot 1800 726 063

  • This is wireless right? so can u control PC with it?

    • +3

Unless you have a media pc remote control IR receiver. Be sure that you stick to a branded one like from HP, Dell or Microsoft - you will have a higher chance to get it working

      • +1

        thanks mate

  • Really, now you need a tablet as a remote control? ;-)

  • Awesome price. Tempting, but happy with my Harmony One already. Mine even controls my Panasonic A/C. :)

  • Damn, no Harmony One's left in SA

  • +2

I used to have the 785, which is no longer made. Lasted 3 years but then something went wrong with charging and Logitech could neither repair nor replace it. Sob Sob. Since then there is now only a higher model and a lower model.

Been back to using 4-5 remotes at home for 4 months now and it's a pain. The one thing that is a bit inconvenient is that it will take 2 hands to operate, which is not for everyone…

    • Hey Eddomak, I had exactly the same problem with the same remote but I fixed it by buying a separate charger from ebay to replace the original docking station. So now, although it a slight inconvenience to take the battery out once a week to recharge it, I still have the 785 and it's still a great remote.

      • +1

Thanks - due to the malfunction the original charger puffed the original battery. I even disassembled everything and pushed the prongs up a bit, but all to no avail. Kept it all there unfunctional for 3 months, then finally moved it into the bin. T'was a sad day, but I am almost over it now. I am sure the 1100i will help. Hah! Anyway, if you have the alternate charger already, then perhaps buy another battery so you can alternate and swap with no downtime. :)

  • Got a PS3 receiver, as usual Dick staff were hoarding them out the back… first guy I asked said they only had the opened box one that was on display. Asked another guy who obviously hadn't been clued in on the bargain and he said they had six more out back.

  • Does anybody know anything about the successor of this remote?

  • +1

Harmony remotes are infra-red (IR) so any device with a IR remote can be controlled by a Harmony. The reason you need an adapter for the PS3 is because that uses Bluetooth for all connections.

  • +2

Agreed about the 1100i, you can't use it without looking at the screen which limits the usability somewhat. I have had a few models of Harmonies over the years and my favourite is still the old 500 XBOX version, but having said that I just grabbed a Harmony One as an upgrade, thanks for the lead :)

  • +1

i feel like these are just going to get cheaper and cheaper as more devices move to wireless control through devices like this.

    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/tablet-accessories/other-acces…

    • +1

Maybe, but smart phones suffer from the same usability problems as the 1100i, no tactile buttons means you need to look at the phone/remote screen to use them which, when you think about it, is a real shift in the way people use a remote control. Some may adapt but personally I prefer to just be able to pick up the remote and feel for the button I want without looking away from the screen.

  • I'd go with the Harmony One remote over this one
    http://www.logitechshop.com.au/logitech-harmony-one-remote.h…
$139 so $5 more, but a better device I feel.

  • -5

what can this do that my $12 universal remote cannot do?
wouldn't they all be the same?
why would someone spend that much money on a universal remote?

    • +2

I think you have some reading to do. For a start, does your $12 remote learn commands from the original remote if needed? Can you create a string of commands to control several actions across multiple devices by one button press?

    • Absolutely nothing. Your $12 remote is awesome. So this deal isn't for you. Time to click the back button. :)

  • Great deal, though I wouldn't buy this one. I'd rather go the Harmony One at $74.50. Easier to use and requires only one hand.

After using touch screens on phones, you wouldn't like to use the 1100i's touch screen.

  • +1

Pah~! Out of stock everywhere… just clearing up stock. (Perth)

  • Heads up for Ozbargainers in Melbourne - Dick Smith store in Point Cook is showing Harmony One in stock.

    • +2

Also Dandenong. It's frustrating you have to keep typing in postcodes randomly rather than having a "Show stores with stock in Victoria" button.

      • Parkmore (Keysborough) and Cranbourne also showing "low stock, call store". Karingal (Frankston) still good.

        • Parkmore and Dandenong had no stock when I called this morning (one on hold at Parkmore though)

          Shall we say successfully ozbargained??

  • Is anyone out there using this with XBMC on a HTPC?

    • Yes (XBMC on HTPC) but on a Harmony One. Need help?

      • I've got a harmony 525, but I guess it's the same principle.
Here's my setup: HTPC- HP N36L running Windows7 and XBMC.
You will need a IR receiver for the PC, I got a HP MCE IR receiver off eBay for about $20.

You will configure the remote using Logitech's software, which you would first tell it what devices you have, eg TV, AV receiver, htpc, game console etc, then you can create 'activies' such as 'watch movie's, 'play games' etc.
For each activities the software will ask u what device is involved, and it'll work out what button controls what device.

Once everything is configured, all you'll need to press is 1 button and it'll switch on (or off) the relevent devices, set them to the correct modes and ready to go.

Some people have asked about compatibility issues, when you are setting up the devices you have with the software, it will look into a massive database online to search for a match. If it couldnt it, as long as you have that device's remote, youu can confiigure it manually by using the harmony remote to 'learn' the ir signals. So that means any Ir device should work, even you air con! (Eg. Switch AC on for horror movies)

Personally I think the harmony one is just fine, as it gives u the tactile control

  • +2

Brilliant, ended up scoring a Harmony One at David Jones, the guy was happy to price match for me.
Myer told me they wouldnt even be able to get close to $100.
Both Myer and DJ's scanned at $299

  • +1

Might be a silly question, but is there an app for ios or android that would allow you use your phone or tablet as a remote?

    • yes, but via ip network.
like for XBMC on AppleTV, AppleTV, TivoHD.

  • To the guy with the Sony tv…manually input the Sony tv code 10000 and it will work. Also if you are truly tech savy it shouldn't take you more than 45 minutes to set up this remote or well any remote. Logitech, great work guys!

bad, i try to get one harmony one or harmony 1100i, i go to castle hill dse, parramatta dse all no stock
why everyone give positive to this non existent special?
and dse do such special and for no stock, it fool people?

    • +1

You think Australia is only that small?

      • No point really for special if they only have 1-2 units in store.

  • Not sure how this one can magically pop up in my pants, unlike that other blue remote…

    • You have a remote controlled zipper?!

  • The title could be changed to 50% off Logitech remotes.

I picked up the last Harmony One from DSE in Campbelltown

    • Thats where I got my Harmony One from too. Click and collect from Campbelltown mall

      • Must have been lucky cause i rang and they said they had 2 .. but when i got there 1 left :-P

  • Got the harmony one at dick smith ballarat. Last one in the store

    • Already got 650 wondering whether I need harmony one.

  • That feeling when you see the deal that evening and its been ozbargained :(

  • -4

I am not a rep of dick smith, that was an accident

    • Hit the report button and a mod will remove it for you.

  • Ok so dumb question but what is OW? No DSE that I can find has stock.

  • Anyone down in SE Melb can try the Karingal store…
I bought the last one from Fountain Gate on Thursday but took it back to Karingal on Sunday & got the Harmony One instead.
Great looking remote & a lot of fun to show off, but it will be a pain in the @$$ having to look up & down at the screen everytime i want to ffwd past commercials, etc.

  • -1

Grabbed the last 2 Harmony Ones from DSE Belconnen (ACT), sorry!

  • Of course AAE delivered it to the wrong address (in a different town)…. now the fun for refund/ insurance begins….
