If you're after a large Android tablet that's over 10" and don't mind spending a bit more than the Blackview Tab 16 11" tablet then this is a good option at 12" with some pretty good specs. Namely the Snapdragon 680 CPU that outperforms the budget UNISOC CPUs and Widevine L1 DRM that supports Netflix HD making it suitable for media playback.

Featuring Android 12 (Magic UI) with Google Play & regular security updates, Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD, 12" 2000x1200 IPS 60Hz display, 6GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 CPU, 7250mAh battery with 22.5W PD charging, 8 speakers with DTS:X Ultra, 5MP Front & Rear Camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.1 and USB-C.

Techtablets have reviewed the tablet in depth. The main pros are the unibody alloy build that weighs 519g and 6.9mm thick, 10+ hours of battery life, great sounding speakers with bass, no bloatware and good performance for general usage. The cons are that there's no 3.5mm audio jack, no microSD card slot and no GPS.

There are 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants available on the listing. I recommend going for the 6GB RAM option to get better overall performance.

  • Looks decent!

  • I had a play with one of these a few days ago. Very impressed. In particular the sound is very good, though the staff in the Honor retail store (yep, that is a thing) were pissed that I asked them to turn off the house elevator music so I could have a listen.
But smooth graphics, nice screen and beautiful build quality. Tempted at this price point…

    • Was that here in Aus?

      • Nope, KL

  • I want to get this tablet for my mum, but I have a stupid question as I am clueless about this device.
    Does this come with keyboards?
Some picture shows they do, but nothing in the description says so… shrug

  • We'd be comparing this to something like the Galaxy Tab a8 at this price point correct? Isn't that a better deal? It's much cheaper on sale. This does net you 2 more inches.

    • +4

You wouldn't compare this. Maybe something like the Blackview, Alldocube or Teclast with a UNISOC CPU.

Tab A8 has a smaller screen, less RAM, less storage, weaker CPU/GPU, smaller battery and no fast charge. It has the benefit of GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and microSD slot.

  • +1

Difference between a 10 and 12 inch is huge when it's in your hand… I'm tempted to go the ultra just for the size. Great for movies

  • Potentially ignorant question, but why should someone (i.e. me) pay attention to Widevine DRM or Netflix HD on a 12" screen? Is there some benefit that I dont know about?

    • Without Widevine L1 and Netflix whitelisting you're going to get standard definition which will look pretty bad on a 12" screen, instead of 1080p.

  • When I see "Global Version" it worries me because, from my personal experience, global versions don't get OS nor security updates.

    • +1

Honor sells these outside of China and it's mentioned above that they have stores in Kuala Lumpur so it's definitely global. They also have this on their global website 😉

It's not going to be a Lenovo Xiaoxin tablet where ZUI is replaced by a M10 ROM. You'll get the MagicOS skin.
